  1. That’s not uncommon with any audio gear. General rule is that you turn off the speakers before any other equipment. Do the reverse when powering up systems; turn the speakers on last.

  2. Thanks for the replies. I started that video a while back but gave up part way thru as most of the info seemed way more than I needed. I'll revisit it. I also tried going thru the manual first but nothing I read seemed to address what I was looking for. The only time I'm not in stomp mode is when I change presets. And I only used two presets (on a gig). I view each preset like a different pedal board. From stomp mode, I press the mode switch which brings me into preset mode and I select my other preset. At this point, I'd like to turn individual effects on or off but I need to press the mode switch again to bring me into stomp mode. (In reality, this isn't the end of the world. I'm usually not changing presets in the middle of a song. I'm just trying to tap into the full potential of the Stomp XL.) Thanks again for your help.

  4. Nope. Here are two images. Both are the FX window in reaper. This is all I can do. My internet access is really limited due to travel. Sorry for delays...I hope someone see's this.

  5. The problem was caused by my Shure GLXD16 (wireless). A broken cable caused the "too much gain phenomenon". My HX-Stomp works flawless since I used a new cable. Could´t find it out so easy because the issue occured sporadically. I hope you get this problem solved!
