  1. Hi everyone! So I'm planning to buy a POD GO Wireless, I'm coming from a Firehawk FX. I have a Katana Artist MK2 which I use with pedals and I want to use the special input for multi-effect systems for the POD GO. I was thinking about a A/B foot switch after the POD GO output. I was wondering if I could send a clean guitar signal with amp or cab into the front of the chain with pedals so I can use the wireless system in the POD GO to use it with the pedals and amp too. So either a clean signal trough the POD GO or using the effects loop and placing that as close forward as possible. But my main question is still, will it impact the sound by some processing by the POD GO, EQ or amp setting which is mandatory. I know from the Firehawk I can disable amp and cab so it becomes a clean signal basically. Hope someone can answer my question, cheers!
  2. I’m connecting my Firehawk FX to my Boss Katana MK2 using the power amp-in connection. I’m confused if I should use the AMP or Line mode on the FX100. Any suggestions?
  3. I've got the same response from Line 6, a update is coming but no ETA.
  4. Keep in mind that your Vox AC4 is based on the boost channel from a AC30. So whatever you gonna throw at it from the Firehawk is gonna be colored by pre-amp of the AC4. Also make sure you are using a cabinet simulation (should be off when u have no amp model active). Also worth checking your Firehawk level mail volume (red) and the guitar signal (white, press on the big knob on the floorboard). Try to tweak those those two make it behave better with your amp. From what i've heard/tried is that having the guitar input (white) on 3/4 or 3 a clock-ish and then adjust the main volume (red) to manage overall volume.
  5. that’s looking interesting! Will read it when I have to time xD
  6. iIf you listen you can most definitely tell the difference and it can be a big influence if you try to get close to a particular sound. The settings also impact the tone/volume behavior on rolling them back too as I understand. My questions was not) does it make an impact and much? But I was wondering if there was a guide that showed what the used pods were on the guitars modelled to get a starting point and build from there.
  7. I’ve been experimenting with recording trough the USB interface of the Firehawk. I record straight into GarageBand with no EQ settings on. I’ve set recording and playback in macOS to use the Firehawk and listen trough a BD 770 Pro headphones connected the the Firehawk When Iisten while recording it sou rd exactly how I want it. But when u playback the recording it sounds nothing like it. The ‘fatness’ of the tone is gone and so are many details. I’ve tried an open source recording program but the same thing happens. The monitoring sound is good but the playback of the recorded sound is bad. How is it that the Firehawk can send the sound to my Mac, send it back to my Firehawk and trough the headphones and it sounds good but when I record that same signal it lacks so much that’s not the same at all?
  8. Hi, Is there any reference guides to what settings to use for each body for the Volume and Tone controls? The settings are all new for me and would like to have a guide of some sort to get started, so I know what resistance I need to pick for each body and build from there. I tried to search the forums but couldn't fine any, sorry if this questions has come up before.
  9. Finding out the problem to now. It's very annoying that I can't use my new Variax with the Line 6 Firehawk with making patches, as that was the main reason to buy this whole setup.
  10. Where can I find a Line 6 authorized service center in the Netherlands?
  11. I included a recording of the sound. It almost sounds like a spring reverb. No effects, straight from the amp (Vox AC4) into iPhone Garageband recording. Hope this can clarify it better if it is a setup-up problem or a defect. Line 6 variax sound.m4a
  12. They put 10's from Elixir on the guitar for me (not sure if this is default) string gauges.
  13. Lowering the pickups did not make a difference. The guitar was setup by a authorized Line 6 dealer. The action is pretty high tho and some fret buz can be heard sometimes but not when playing the D chord. It can be heard when unplugged, it sounds like it's coming from inside of the guitar.
  14. Hi everyone! I just received my Line 6 Variax Standard today and when I was trying it out with the magnetic pickups I heard a resonating/high chime sound, especially when playing the D chord. I've tried to lower the magnetic pickups but it is still there, so it's not string pull I guess. When enabling the modeling the same can be heard but it's much harder to detect but it is still there. Is this normal is the guitar bad, or the setup?
  15. Thanks for the replay, I might try your method and see how I like that.
  16. Whenever I connect to my FireHawk FX ony my iPad it send my iPad audio to my FireHawk FX. I want to connect so I can use the app, not as an audio device. I can fix this by setting the sound back to the iPad once it connects. But is there are option to set the FireHawk FX NOT as an audio device device with Bluetooth connection? - JaPPa
  17. Helpful comment... can you tell me what version MacBook, MacOS and Workbench HD you are using? Clearly there is something that causes this since you are stating it's sharp as it should be. So let's try to find the issue here and help others who mind have the same problem. My specs are: MacBook Pro Retina 15" late 2013 model MacOS 10.12 Workbench HD 2.13
  18. I am trying out the Workbench HD app to see how it all works before buying a Variax guitar. But the Line 6 monkey and Workbench HD doesn't support the retina screen in a MacBook Pro, therefor it looks blurry and not pleasing on the eye at all. Will there be a 'Retina' update anytime soon? And is the Helix app the same for MacBook Pro users?
  19. I think the issue is that the speakers in the combo are voiced for the Spider IV. Your 4x12 is not, so it sounds different and in this case lesser for your taste. You may find tweaking all your settings to sounds good on your 4x12 to be your only option. Since speakers do make a big impact on the 'character' of the sound.
  20. Switching a effect on or off isn't a preset is it? Here is the URL to the product page where the 128 presets is presented as a feature.
  21. Hi guys, I'm wondering how I can save presets to my shortboard mkii? I'm using it in combination with a Spider IV 75 and do most of my edits in the edit software on my mac. On the product page of the shortboard is says but I can't find a way to save any preset the the board. Anyone knows how to do this? Thanks!
  22. Yes I have it installed. Fair point. I'll be using it for headphones too, since its a pain to connect a headphone to the Spider IV 75, so thats upgrade as well from my point of view.
  23. Hi guys, My 'Stomp' switch is dead, it click but does not activate or deactivate. Is there a way to calibrate the switch or a trick to make it live again? Or is there a way to reconfig the switches so I can set the 'stomp' function to anther (good working) switch? Cheers
  24. Hi guys, I'm wondering if I can use a FX100 with my Spider IV 75. Could I set the amp on a clean channel without effects and use the FX100 as a board and effect controls? Would this be a cool 'modern' upgrade of my Spider IV. I have a Shortboard MKII but the stomp switch died so I'm looking for a new board, but the Shortboard MKII and the FX100 ar both around the 200 euro's. Hope you guys know some more! Cheers
