  1. But...you can find tons of youtube clips of actual amplifier manufacturers putting out clips of their amp with holding out long chords and playing notes and letting them sustain and catch harmonics. If they can do it and it sounds great on our computers...then why can't Line 6?
  2. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and predict that the Helix will not make the 9-11-2015 date.
  3. It's called targeting your market. No need for Line 6 to put out big ads. They seem to have done a great job marketing it in advance to guitarists. They don't need to advertise it to anyone else.
  4. I think you're wrong. It's been on the front page of the Line 6 site for a while now. It's been featured prominently on the front pages of the big online outlets. And it's been the subject of a several hundreds page thread on TGP as well as widely viewed vids. Not sure if you've been living under a rock...but most guitarists have definitely heard about it. When I told my band back in June that I had pre-ordered it, my bassist knew exactly what I was talking about. :) So yeah, I think they've done a great job of online marketing to the targeted audience. A traditional advertisement doesn't really cut it in today's world.
  5. Gotta agree with bloodychoir...we would like to hear some amps. No effects on them. Just the freakin' amps without the noodling on the guitar stuff. Just the amps. A couple of big chords played on them allowed to ring out. Couple of slow licks on guitar so we can hear the tone and the sustain, etc. Just like to see if it sounds like an amplifier instead of an effect laden mushy mess. Not meaning to sound like a jerk. Just want to hear the amp models. :)
  6. I think Line 6 has just done such a great job of marketing the Helix that it's created a big demand and people wanting to know more.
  7. heh-heh Still would be nice to hear something running it into the DT amp. I was kinda hoping that one of the staff there had done it. It's pretty obvious that the DT isn't in Yamaha's plans anymore so I don't expect to see any official vid or hear any official audio from them. I will guarantee that I will put up some audio and vid when I finally get mine in the first shipment...due on May 7th, 2020.
  8. I'm really excited to plug it in to my DT50. I plan on using the L6 link for audio and just running the amp on topology IV. Have any of you guys plugged one in that way to a DT amp yet? And if so could you throw up an audio clip? If it sounds as awesome as my HD500 does through my DT amp it's gonna be so sweet!
  9. And here we go again!
  10. Does it have a tray for the cocaine and a cup holder for the beer? lol
  11. drew_fx What guitar did you use with the Helix?
  12. Good info BigRalphN, I guess that gives me some idea of when I might see mine.

I like Topo I for clean too. But it still sounds pretty damn good with IV. I use it that way for playing out with my band. When recording something I like to use the correct topography.
  14. Sweetwater doesn't charge me anything until what I ordered actually ships.

That's the amp topology changing (assuming you're using the L6 link) My solution was this: In a live situation I use a clean, crunch, and a lead sound. Once I set up all three sounds the way I wanted them...I simply made the topology the same for each one. That way when switching from one to the other at a live gig there is no popping sound. I personally chose topology IV for all of them. The way you do that is go to a preset you use, then go to the DT25 and choose topology IV on the amp. Now go back to the HD500 and save the preset. Do the same for the rest of the presets you use in live performance. Now when you choose any of those presets they will all use topology IV and there will be no loud popping sound. Of course you can choose any of the 4 available topology's, I just found that IV was the one that sounded best for me in live situations.
  16. My Fractal comment was more an observation about how fast technology moves. What was cutting edge months ago when they first announced the Helix is now outdated technology. Even the processors they chose for the unit will be relatively antiquated by the time they get this out for shipment. Seems like they were able to get working final version units into the hands of several music stores to make demo vids with...and now we're being told that it might still be November before any customers can get one. When Samsung starts talking about the latest Galaxy mobile device...it's in the stores a month later, BEFORE the technology in it is already "old". That's what I was trying to say about the Helix. It looked truly groundbreaking to me back at the beginning of June and got me so excited that I pre-ordered it. Was told at the time that it would probably be in within 4 weeks...which seemed about the "norm" when I have preordered stuff in the past from other companies. Now it's 4 months later and maybe 2 more months to go! That will be 6 months. That's like 6 years in the ever changing world of technology. Yamaha needs to step it up and get these things built and shipped ASAP before another company comes out with the next big thing.
  17. By the time we get these things they will already be obsolete and fractal will already have a couple of new units on the shelves. :(
  18. I haven't heard anything yet from Sweetwater about the delay. And I ordered mine back in June. So I've still got my fingers crossed that I may have one in my hands this month. :)
  19. I was more addressing the guys in the thread who did preorder and had gotten phone calls from sweetwater.
  20. I still haven't heard anything from them about a delay. And Matt usually calls me if anything is happening. I'm wondering if I'm getting the first shipment since I ordered back in June?
