  1. Hi Edwin, I didn't have a problem someone else did, I only suggested a possible cause and solution. I have no idea how it came out or if a solution to the problem was found.
  2. Scott my guess is you'll have better luck finding a complete amp with the digital card in it than just the VDI card alone and probably for about the same amount of money.

It shouldn't be too hard to find someone who can swap out the battery for you. It's a simple task for a good tech.

Go to the Vetta II facebook group and you'll see a lot of folks still using them.
  5. I If you have two vetta amps I think there is a procedure to dump the OS from one to the other directly without a computer in the loop. Of course they both have to be the same kind of amp i.e. head or combo but if they are the same you're supposed to be in great shape. I forgot where it was but it's out there on the web somewhere.
  6. We Well in that case I guess you're up the proverbial creek unless you can get Line 6 to help you. Which is doubtful.
  7. Line 6 no longer supports the Vetta with Monkey. You'll have to do it the old way. Go to the Vetta users group on Facebook for detailed help.
  8. No part number but it;s a common pop in, double pole single throw, rocker switch with spade terminals. Should be easy to find on any of the electronics parts suppliers on the web. Pop it out and measure it to get a replacement that will fit. BTW I think they only use half the switch so a SPST would do the job.

    Vetta 11

That's one nice friend. Longboard or short?
  10. I agree the Vetta is a great amp although it lacks in support from it's maker.
  11. Monkey no longer works as line6 disabled it. it was a web based tool that was unwise to implement in the first place as it added far too many places for bad things to happen in the updating process. Best to use an update file and a direct connection to the amp instead of adding a bunch of internet garbage to the chain.
  12. That's good news. What were you doing wrong?
  13. I've only used the Uno and I think it was the only recommended midi cable to use. For no more than they cost it's just not worth messin around with it. Do everything you can to ensure success from the onset.
  14. A After checking all the ribbon cables connection I suppose the next step it to check out the power supply. Again the best place to share this these days is the Vetta group on Facebook.
  15. Some have reported good results with later OS software. I have XP so used that but you should check the facebook group for more info.
  16. Have you run the calibration procedure on your pedals? You might try that.
  17. I'd replace the battery first and have a fully functioning amp before attempting an upgrade. The facebook group is the best place to get help with the amp.
  18. It' It's about the only place to find anything in the way of support for the Vetta these days.
  19. For what it's worth. The manual I have says "a buck regulator consisting of IC U3, Inductor L6 and Capacitor C59 form a buck regulator that regulates the voltage generated by winding T2B. This generates an 8V regulated output. The parts list has C59 listed as a 100pF 50volt 0805 surface mount type but that makes little sense from the circuit description. Go to the vetta group on facebook and you can download a service manual in pdf format. However the schematic isn't the easiest to read. The manual if for a head unit but I think they use the same PCB with some variance in the components that are stuffed. Like more power FETs for the head unit than are installed in for the combo amps. I would be nice if Line6 would help but they won't so it is what it is. The least they could do is put the manuals and service data up for download. At least if it's a common component and you can get your hands on what data there is, you stand a snowball's chance of saving your amp. A couple have been talked though repairing their dead amps in the facebook group so you might want to check it out. There are many fans for the Vetta there but not many fans of Line6.
  20. Yeah it's been up for a while now. I've been sending people there for support as there is none from Line6 anymore. All vetta amps are covered, I's II's heads and combos. We've even successfully talked a few folks though repairs for their dead amps. If you're looking for any kind of help for a vetta amp that is where to find it these days.
  21. All the answers for firmware updates and the files can be found in the Vetta users group on Facebook.
  22. Just one battery. You can find a lot of discussion about replacing it in the facebook Vetta group. I suggest replacing the coin cell with a battery holder and a couple of lithium AA or AAA types. It makes it easier the next time around because no soldering is needed and it should last longer too.
  23. Probably not avaliable so you'll likely have to fix the one you have or have it fixed. Should be doable by a good tech.
  24. I think you might be confused about the FBV. I have the long board, you can select all the banks by selecting bank up and down and then channels A,B,C and D within each bank. That is unless you're talking about the FBV4 which just has for push buttons but I don't know how many if any of those were sold. If you haven't any floorboard at all try to find and buy a longboard as it has two pedals and a maybe a few more switches than the shortboard has. One note, be aware that by default the pedals are off in each patch so you have to press the toe switch (press hard) then save the patch for the expression pedal to be active the next time you dial up that patch. Do this for each pedal in each patch. It's a gotcha that catches most folks unaware as it did me with I first got the board. The expression pedals can be configured in each patch to do more than just wha and volume. You can use them to vary effects parameters like depths, delays, speeds, fades etc.
