  1. Actually, I think all piezo-equipped acoustic guitars sound better played finger style.
  2. I get very good comments when I play my JTV-59 (Martin setting) straight into the PA using only a direct box. I'm talking about songwriter nights where other guys play high-end Martins into Shure SM-57 mics. I've tried various HD-500 settings of compression and EQ and can't beat the direct sound. Two things to think about: 1. I use .011 gauge strings with a wound G. 2. I play with my fingers and thumb.
  3. Thanks again Silverhead. You answered my question. I use Pod Farm every week, but haven't used the UX2 in years. So I'm good to go.
  4. Thanks Silverhead. I do think I have a separate license for Pod Farm 2 as follows. Am I correct? This software should appear in all your Authorized devices that support the add-on. Bass Expansion Collector Classics FX Junkie POD Farm 2
  5. I considering selling my UX2. I'm wondering how to list. What, if any, version of Pod Farm will be available to the next owner? Thanks in advance.
  6. Has anyone had any luck with a straight Male 1/4 TS to Female 1/4 TS adaptor? I can't find one. I have the right angle version, but it doesn't fit well on my Godin Session Custom '59.
  7. Cool. I bought the Spider V 60 as my home and extremely small gig amp just for the G10T feature. And then I'm thinking about getting the FBV-3 controller, while I'm at it. So the obvious next step would be the Spider V 240 or Firehawk 1500 for my big boy amp (to replace my Fender Mustang III V2).
  8. That is confusing. It would seem that you would also need the base to connect the output to the input of the Firehawk - just like any other amp.
  9. My issue was my own laziness and lack of patience. I'm sure you'll be fine.
  10. I ended up losing patience with it and sent it back. I'm anxious to hear how you do with it.
  11. When I responded to Silverhead positively, I was really responding to his discussion regarding ghost notes/alternate tunings. It seems like that distinction comes up often. Having said that,I've owned many Line 6 Products: Variax 300, 500, 700, JTV-69, JTV-59. My 59 is still my main axe - for both acoustic and electric. I use lotsa alternate tunings. Original Ax212 (drove six hours to get it!), Flextone III, Vetta, DT25, Spider V 60. Still have the Spider V. I have downsized over the years. Original POD Bean, XT Floor, X3 Floor, HD500 rack. Don't have any of these any more. My needs have changed. UX8, UX2. Got rid of the UX8. I still miss it sometimes. I still use PodFarm every time I record. Had a StageScape Mixer for a while. It was way more than I needed - but really cool. I probably forgot some things. I keep coming back to Line 6 for innovative and usable equipment. So I am obviously pleased with their product line. The only negative thing I have to say is that they don't have an authorized service center in Pittsburgh. I have to drive 90 minutes to Youngstown, Ohio. I think this happened three times in nearly twenty years of using their stuff.
  12. I'm wondering the same thing. I have a Spider V 60 for home and small duo gigs. I like the wireless G10T ability. I don't think the 1500 has wireless.
  13. I've owned the 300, 500, 700 and JTV-59. The JTV is better because of the onboard battery, at a minimum. Also, the JTV is better because of the option to use the magnetic pickups.
  14. I ordered a Fishman Triple Play to install on my JTV-59. I know some of y'all installed without issues. A few questions: Did you use one of the tune-omatic mounts? or one of the others? Any trimming necessary? Can someone post a photo? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. CB
  15. Just to close the loop on this. I did have some communication with Line 6 Support. To make a long story short - I was referred to Sweetwater to buy VDI/Workbench for $99.00. So I'm back to my original decision: Keep on without Workbench. By a VDI for $99.00. Try to find a used VDI. Find a good deal on a X3 Live.
  16. ^^ I do have another user name and just noticed that my Variax isn't registered. I'm not sure what happened. Thanks for the reminder!
  17. I've played Variaxes for years. Started with the 300 and now have had the JTV59 . I use it for all my acoustic stuff. Live and studio. A few things: I play with my thumb and fingers. I think all acoustic-electrics sound better that way. I use .011 gauge strings with a wound G. Makes a big difference. BTW. I occasionally play an acoustic songwriter showcase where the other "purists" play Martins and other high end stuff straight into a microphone. When I come on with my Variax through the PA they are always amazed.
