  1. Sorry for the late reply, but I'm just reading this post. I noticed that you have the Texas Cali amp model in your preset with the bass set to zero. There was an issue of volume loss on a preset with the Texas Cali amp bass set to zero. I had this same thing happen to me when they first added the Texas Cali amps. I reported this bug to Line 6 support and they confirmed that it was a bug. I don't know if it has ever been fixed in another update. I kept adjusting the bass on my preset one step at a time and the bug went away after setting the bass to 0.8 or higher. Might be worth a try.
  2. Have you checked your split and merge blocks to see if anything changed during the update? Possibly the 1b path got muted somehow?
  3. I always use XLR and I haven't had any problems. Of course, I probably just jinxed myself.
  4. I've had the exact same problem several times in the past using windows 10 and Internet explorer 11. Try using Google chrome or another browser. After trying different computer, different usb cable, different usb ports, Chrome worked for me installing 2.10. I used chrome to update to 2.11 with no problems. Hope this helps.

    No update...

Try to install using google chrome or some other browser. I had the same problem on a windows 10 machine using internet explorer (not edge) and it would not install. I thought I had bricked my unit for good. I could not boot up with any foot switch combinations. I finally used google chrome for the install after booting up into safe mode and at long last success. I think I booted into safe mode although I'm not sure it fully booted up. I only got a blank screen when I first booted up in safe mode. I started the off-line install anyway and it finally installed the update. I used goggle chrome to download the firmware update file. Couldn't get internet explorer to download the file.
  6. What browser were you using? I had the same problems when I tried to do the update using internet explorer 11. I rebooted into the Helix into safe mode (hold switches 6 and 12 down while booting) and used google chrome to update. This got mine working again. When I booted into safe mode, the screen went blank but I opened the updater and started the update anyway. It took about a minute or two for the updater to show it was actually installing the update. Hope this may help you.
  7. I tried to download the firmware file with explorer 11 and it tried to open the file instead of downloading it. Phil_m discussed this in another thread and directed me to a microsoft support link. Strange, I was able to download the firmware 2.01 with explorer 11 though. Thanks for your help, but I just wanted to clarify that I and others had problems downloading 2.10 using internet explorer.
  8. I tried to install the 2.10 update using Windows 10 with internet explorer 11 and the update said it failed. When I tried to boot up, the screen would show Helix Rack near the bottom with Helix flashing over it and hang there. If I tried to boot into safe mode I got a blank screen and it hung up there. When I open up the updater, it showed that Helix version 2.10 was connected. Unless the Line 6 link was wrong, I absolutely did not install the Helix Rack firmware by mistake. I tried all of the boot-up foot switch on the Line 6 website. Tried another computer using Windows 7 again with internet explorer 11 with the same results. I tried different usb ports and a different usb cable with still same results. Then I saw on one of these Line 6 forum threads where someone with the same problem as me got theirs to update using google chrome. After booting up using the safe mode (screen was blank), I tried to update again using chrome as my default browser and after about a minute the firmware started to install and finally completed the update. In the past I have had update failures, but was always able to get the firmware to finally install after 2 or 3 tries. I think next time I will try chrome first and see if all goes well. At this point, I am nervous about updating my unit, but I appreciate all of the help posted on this and other forums.
  9. I finally got my Helix to update! I noticed (I think in this thread) that someone used Chrome to update. Switching browsers was the one thing that I had not tried because I had always updated with explorer before with no problems. Used Chrome and all went well. Thanks everyone for posting in this thread. It is nice to see how others solve some of the same problems that someone else may be having.
  10. Woo Hoo, I finally got my Helix to update. I switched to Google Chrome and at last it updated. Switching browsers was the one thing I didn't try.
  11. Strange, I was using Windows 10 64 bit and Internet Explorer 11, not Edge when it happened. I'm at work right now, but I'll try Chrome when I get home.
  12. I see the button, but when I click on it, I get the page of gobbedlygook as well. I was able to download the 2.01 version though. Strange.
  13. I am one of those that things didn't go so well. I made sure that I followed the directions exactly, but the update failed and after many many tries using all of the different combinations of boot options, trying a different computer, different usb ports, different usb cable, trying to revert back to a previous version, my helix was still bricked. After opening a support ticket with Line 6, it was determined that I would have to send it in for repair. Since I bought it at Sweetwater, I will go that route for returning the unit. Man, I was really looking forward to trying out the new amps, but that will have to wait. Actually I have had issues updating in the past, but was always able to get the update to install. Still, I am very pleased with my helix. Sometimes things just go wrong. My biggest mistake was trying to update the day before Thanksgiving. I am still slapping myself over that decision.
  14. Yes, I tried the safe boot 6&12 combination along with all of the other possible combinations listed by Line 6. Also tried to revert back to a previous version, but no luck. I think my helix is hopelessly bricked so I submitted a trouble ticket.
  15. How did you finally get your helix to boot into safe mode? I've tried every combination I can think of and can't get it past the flashing Helix/Helix Rack logo. I have opened a support ticket, but because of the holidays I haven't received any reply.
  16. I cannot download the file. When I click on the link, I just get a screen that looks like programming code. The file doesn't download. Edit-The updater shows that I have a Helix 2.10 connected but I cannot get past the screen that flashes helix and then helix rack. It's either that screen or a completely blank screen. No scribble strip text on either screen.
  17. My helix is showing the same display as mentioned in the thread after my update failed. I have tried all of the boot up footswitch combinations by Line 6 with no success. I am using Windows 10. My Helix will show the Version 2.10 in the updater program, but it won't boot up and it doesn't show up in the Editor. I am sure that I downloaded the floor version. My updater version is 1.10. Edit-To clarify I was updating from 2.01 to 2.10.
  18. I am having the same problem. When I restart the helix the screen is flashing helix and then rack. I checked and I didn't download the rack update by mistake. Cannot get the helix to update. I am using Windows 10. Never had this problem before. Edit-I have tried every combination of footswitch boot sequences and still nothing. I have even tried on a different computer with Windows 7. Still the same symptoms as everyone else has stated. If I boot holding 9 & 10, the screen goes blank.
  19. Thanks for posting these IR's. I am using one of these in my FOH sound and it sounds amazing. Really makes my sound come to life and blend in the mix well. Thanks again.
  20. Could you post a picture of your preset?
  21. I have updated my software and firmware regularly and I have only been able to update my firmware in one try only once. Most times it takes me 2-3 times to update. One time it took 4 times. I don't know if it's my computer or what. I am running Windows 10 Home 64 bit. I admit it is a little scary doing an update, but eventually all is well.
  22. Thanks everyone. My head is spinning, but I think I understand it now. Wow, I didn't know being a musician was so complicated.
  23. What is the Scale parameter on the delay pedal blocks? Someone asked this question over on the TGP site and no answer has been given. I thought maybe someone here could help.
  24. Yes, a backup would be very useful. You could even have a different backup for each venue. Thanks for your suggestion. Actually, after searching IdeaScale, this has already been addressed. Just voted for it.
  25. After installing an update, the instructions say to update the global settings. Doing this includes resetting the Global EQ that I have created. Because there may be some behind-the-scenes updates going on, I really like to do the global update. I don't mind resetting the other global settings, but I really don't want to lose my global eq settings (I guess I could write them down, but still...). I am thinking about putting this on IdeaScale. Is there a way to overwrite the global settings without overwriting the global eq?
