Yeah, I'm wondering too. I've been thinking of getting the model pack because of the inclusion of that amp. If the variacd plexi holds up head to head with the Park75 I've been using since the first day I got the POD, I'd buy it. I hope someone post a video demoing the amp. (of course should play Brewster's songs to gauge the sound easier. haha)

I've experienced having the phantom power active while using XLR out of the POD in the past. Never had any problems.

I read somewhere here that the POD will ignore the phantom power.

Oh my goodness.

I use a DI to go direct to PA because my patches have stacked delays (digital delay on dotted eighth and analog echo on quarter note) and room reverb after the amp. XLRs don't sum the signal in mono so I need a way to combine the left and right channel. If I go direct to PA using one XLR out of the POD (the PA setup is mono), I feel the delay repeats are somewhat lacking, probably because the other channel is missing.

What guide?

The problem is, I can't turn my volume up some more as the recorded mix would be full of electric guitar. Sure it sounds good live when the volume is turned up, but I want to address this issue in the context of recording.

volume issue? if so, should i set the output of the distoetion effects to 100%?

It seems like my crunch tones are too compressed. I've already used dual cab setup but setting it up is pain in the @$$. How can I make the sound more open and amp-like? When I'm not using screamer or tube drive, the slightly clean tone from the amp sounds OK. If I kick the distortion pedal on, oh my goodness but the sound is horrible. I have a Fender strat and Texas Special PUps. I always set the Brit P75 bias to 80% and excursion 50%. Am I doing this right?

Problem is, I have no OD pedal yet. No idea what to get. I don't djent (haha) so a good OD pedal suggestion would be cool.

I thought about this while rebuilding again my patches to use dual cabs (because single cabs sounds fake and weird, so hard to EQ). What if L6 add a new feature in this current hd line and possibly in the next generation pod: - Separate amp from cab blocks so user can use two different cabs - If not using dual cab, have the option to use dual mic on a single cab. (mics IR should be phase corrected so the user won't figure out how many samples the mics need to be delayed) - Or have the ability to use two mics each cab for dual cab setup? (don't know if the device has enough power for this) - If IRs are not phase corrected, provide a sample delay parameter in the mics. - 3 band parametric EQ with HPF LPF in the mics OR cab. But I think it will make sense to put the EQ functionality in the mics options. - If the dual mics can be panned left or right, that'll be very cool I think this happens in the real world, a single cab with multiple mics. What do you think? Can't post on Ideascale now. Can't access the website from office PC.

How about using external overdrive pedals in front? Would the models you mentioned take it well?

Which amp model should I use if I want to use OD pedals in front of POD? I generally use brit 75, or soldano crunch because it sounds similar to brit75 but with more gain. Thoughts?

Does this combination work for clean and crunch tones too?

Just making assumptions here. We both don't know their source code. We also don't know why they won't make a lookup for the db and hz equivalent. I come in peace. Anyways, for me, it is enough that we know now the equivalent of those percentages. Thanks to the hard work of the forum people here.

Just lower the volume of the music app or DAW ?

I was hoping for somebody to post their tried combination of other cabs. I'm surprised that you replied instead. Your guide has been very helpful. Thank you. As much as I want to do some trial and error, I don't have the time. :(

Or maybe give us also the option to apply the Global EQ per preset, and add a new EQ effect. Win win for the different use cases of people here.

I am a software developer by profession. Those kind of mess up really happen unfortunately. Maybe the Hz and dB issue is so tightly coupled in the firmware that it would be impractical and costly to rewrite a whole chunk of the code base just to make the percent to appropriate units.. especially if they are already developing the codebase of the successor of the POD HD. (which is I think very likely) But let's not worry. As DI have stated in a post I read here somewhere, future L6 products will show dB and Hz.

I know that the EQ effects included in the POD can do its job well as long as the user knows the equivalent of the percentages. It's just pain in the a88 for me to lose three effect blocks just to EQ my patches (two parametric eq, one mid focus eq to roll of the low and high end). Now, can L6 make a new EQ model based on the Global EQ that they will be implementing? I've read here that it is impossible to make the percent into dB and Hz so just make the values in percentage. It wouldn't take much of the DSP I guess. EDIT: once the new firmware is out, I won't be using the Global EQ as a tone shaping tool for my patches as I EQ them differently. I'll be using it to adjust my output per venue. Global EQ should remain global. Add new EQ effect that has HPF, LPF, and 3 adjustable band with Q fully adjustable also.

I would like to create dual cab tones using the fender, dr z, vox, and others not mentioned in meambobo's guide. How can I determine the right combination? I basically hook my pod to a pc and run a DAW so I could visually see the changes I am doing with the tone.
