  1. My update went well last night also, used Line 6 Monkey for all the updates, and Metal Pack install, preformed the global reset, and cal the expression pedal.
  2. Thank You Iknowathingortwo Line 6 Monkey was created for updates to firmware, software, flash, USB driver update, License, I have never had any issues using it with all my updates and purchases.
  3. I have been working with the Big Bottom Model, WOW, I started out fresh with new tones, I am not going to try tweaking my old tones with the new update
  4. Had no issues with the Firmware update, downloaded and installed the Metal Amp pack, I have noticed all of the previous high gain amp models have been effected, there is more gain, the new amp models sound great, has anyone but me noticed a gain change, my previous tones have changed, they have more gain, even with the global EQ off. I am running directly into the FX loop of my AMP.
  5. I used the Line 6 Monkey, it was straight forward

    Dual AMP

Who is using a dual amp tone setup using left right output from the POD Tredplate Mesa Boogie® Dual Rectifier Tread V-30 4x12 57 on axis Uber 4x12 409 Dynamic
  9. I recommend going to the MeAmBoob sight and read creating 2nd amp. http://www.foobazaar.com/podhd/toneGuide/cabsMics#dualCab
  10. I have always created the second AMP directly on the POD, move the cursor over the AMP press move, move the AMP up, you will see the AMP single chain change too two AMPS, you will need to add a noise gate at the beginning of your effects chain to split the single to both AMP models, then use the software
  11. Just order one from Sweetwater, I have the same issue. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/HD400
  12. Thanks for the info Iknowathingtwo, I will stick with the FX loop setup and the two amp setup, the POD is already a challange its self, not meaning a bad thing, it can be overwelming how much can be done with the unit.
  13. I wanted to hear the difference in sound when adding FX before and after the pre-amp, I have tried direct into the amp from the POD, and direct to the FX loop of the amp from the POD, I stayed with the FX loop setup because direct to the input of the amp had to much gain when using distortion no matter how I setup the out puts of the POD, just wanted to see if I can improve the tone
  14. Anyone have their POD HD500X hooked up to a Marshall MG100DFX Combo Amp using the 4 cable method

    POD HD500X 4CM

First lets start with my equipment Marshall MG100HDFX Guitar Combo Amp 1. INPUT jackUse a good quality guitar cable (i.e. one that’s screened/shielded) to plug your guitar in here. 3. FX RETURN This is where you connect the OUTPUT of the effects processor you are using in the effects loop. 4. FX SEND If you want to use an external effects processor in your amp’s built-in Parallel effects loop, this is the jack you connect to the INPUT of the unit you are using. 5. FX LEVEL Switch Selects the level to match your external effects units (+4dB for rack units and -10dB for pedals) 19. EFFECTS LOOP MIX control When using the FX Loop on the rear panel, the FX Mix allows you to dial in the desired amount of effected signal into your overall sound. Turning the control fully clockwise will result in a fully effected sound, i.e. no dry signal and turning the control fully anticlockwise will result in a fully dry Is this the correct setup Cable 1: Guitar output > Boss or Line6 device Input Cable 2: Boss or Line6 device effect loop send > amp input Cable 3: Amp effect loop send > Boss or Line6 device effect loop return Cable 4: Boss or Line6 device output > amp effect loop return This gives you a proper signal path: I did not get any single from the FX send from the POD, I did add the FX block in the middle of the chain

    XLR to 1/4

Just something I heard on a different forum regarding XLR connections,

    XLR to 1/4

Has anyone tried using an XLR to 1/4 adapter. POD HD500X. XLR out to 1/4 input to front or FX loop on guitar amp.

  19. I agree on the down side, the POD HD500X is not a 4 knob floor pedal and you can easily get upset with it, once you learn and ask questions due your research on how to work the HD500X there is so much to learn and try, inputs outputs, plug in to the front of the amp or fx loop, the list goes on and on, what works for one may not work for others, you always have to tweak a patch. ceccez I have not tried guitar freak tones, I just finished down loading them and will give them a try. I have down loaded several patches from the web sight, and some are good some are not. METAL FOR LIFE
  20. Thanks for the info duncann. I setup duel amp's 1st/A Treadplate with 412 Tread V-30 2nd/B Treadplate with 412 XXL V-30,noise gate, EQ, I cant believe the sound that I am getting just running threw a Marshall MG100 DFX and Line 6 Spider IV 30. I am very pleased with the HD500X, you cant be the tone emulation.
  21. Thanks I will give it a try
  22. How do I setup the HD500X too use two amps at the same time, I see that you can add duel amps models and switch between them, but I would like to run two different amp models at the same time using the 1/4 inch left and right outputs to two different amps, so one amp to left output and one amp to right output, running at the same time, can that be done
  23. I have a bad back so i cant sit on the floor to work on my POD HD500X, so i bought this cheep table from the hardware store, it works great for me. http://www.menards.com/main/home-decor/furniture/tables/30-long-resin-adjustable-height-table/p-1918821-c-7726.htm
  24. Would I connect the MT2 using the FX Loop send and return on the back pannel of the HD500X to add it to the single chain
  25. Question Can i hook up my BOSS MT2 pedal with my POD HD500X, and how would you connect it. Marshall DFX AMP, POD HD connected to FX Loop in back of amp.
