  1. Same answer all the time.....you need to try this, or that, or maybe hop on one foot and sing the hokie-pokie....it's never just plainly a short coming on their part, or products. It's always a workaround the flaws solution that always puts the implied problem on you ....never has Line6 confessed to anything ever being their fault ....IMHO.......
  2. If you hook up the cables during a lightning storm,...you can bring dead people back to life.....so be careful for God's Sake.!......... We don't want any accidents here Cruiser !
  3. Exactly, Maybe Line6 should include a virtual "Lucky Rabbits Foot 2.0" in their next offering? I would have to write a book to even begin to relate everything that I've had go through with my gear................ It's been like starting out with Cheryl Tiegs as a girlfriend and then slowly watching her turn into Rosie McDonald. YIKES!!! Shawn
  4. Sark, Is the fix a secret ? Mine has "occured" since it was new. I think my paper wads are out of warranty now and this is the first time I think anybody has even heard that you guys have a solution. If it's replacing the knobs themselves, I had to jimmy both of them, then Line6 should send out new ones to everyone who has had this problem as it IS a manufacturing defect well known to you. From the sound of your post it, seems like another vague Line6 only repair that requires shipping it in to "An Authorized Service Center". ????? I think 'ya'll have stock in UPS. Fer Christ's Sake, you guys always sound like 'yer guarding the Ark of the Covennent or something. Will you burst into flames if you tell us what the fix is ? "Heaven Forbid" This is another problem in dealing with Line6.......they never go back and fix known issues..........including the known issues with their updates for example. However, they are more than glad to tell YOU how to spend your time overcoming their F..k-ups. Then they just put out the next new thingie and move on. DETAILS MATTER ! That's why Line5 sent me a survey this morning about my JTV......maybe they'll help me out................. Sarcastic Shawn
  5. The LAST thing that anyone would want to hear is,"You need to use a WAD of paper and stick it" ??. That means you have a defective product that they continue to sell. It's not normal, no matter what anyone tries to tell you, that it's up to you to fix a brand new guitar. NOT a high-tech answer for a supposed high-tech instrument that has had this specific issue ever since it came out. If you don't have the ability to make this simple fix in one of your products, don't expect your customers to have any faith in what comes next. Line6 has ignored it's customers complaints and has NEVER addressed this issue. I know, I've had a 59 for a long time. Had my share of issues with it too, but I continue to use it in varying performance situations when it's just plainly a better logistical choice to haul around. Does it sound better than my analog gear? No. Would I buy another one? No. Why? More to do with being gig reliable and system degradation than anything else but also the fact that this stuff will never last long enough to become "Vintage Gear". Just too many bug-a-boo's show up out of nowhere at exactly the WRONG time. I'll just start getting rid of my stuff as it fails because getting it fixed is a real pain in the whowho......you'll learn. Also, if it's such a simple fix,why hasn't the manufacturer "Simply Fixed it???? On the cable....listen and don't use the ones with the plastic connectors. Also acoustics sound way better in FRFR...IMHO,I use a HD500x pushing a pair of LT3's and they will handle most anything except the largest of venues. Quite a monetary investment by the time your done if you throw in the price of a Helix. On a closing note, many are happy with the JTV's and love them, many have had bad luck and hate them. There is alot that can go wrong with them and sometimes getting it all sorted out can be frustrating at best. Whatever you decide, Good Luck, and keep on keepin' on!! Shawn
  6. Cruzer, I need you to save yourself for your next great soliloquy anyway. The good book says not to cast your pearls before swine, ie:, Don't waste the good stuff on those that don't know the difference. How about we call it a draw....that way you BOTH win??? It's better than cutting the baby in half to settle a joint custody suit! If you know what I mean........ Still King Solomonning It P.S. Clayman... we got it .
  7. I think so too on that point, but...................Damit ! She's a looker I know some girls that just have to stand there too & I'm happy ! :) B) Dave, I did an art piece of a TSB 59. PM me if you want. S. K.
  8. I knew I was gonna hate you after seeing this  That is one beautiful vintage guitar you have. I'm about to break one of the ten commandments and lust after yer girl. Hope that's OK with you? How in the world did you ever let her leave in the first place? It's good to see it back where it obviously belongs.......Congrats, Shawn
  9. What's does the price seem to be ?
  10. Could you post a pic of that Country Gent? drool, drool, drool ? Shawn
  11. Listen, Ozbadman hit it on the head here. Clayman also has brought up a good point also. My 59 bricked during a software update. Caused no actual damage to the guitar itself, but it had to go back to L6 so they could cast some witches spell on the thing so it would work again. Only they could wake Sleeping Beauty with a kiss it seems. I had bought it from Sweetwater and tried to get it repaired there first, but they told me that if there was a main board problem and it might be needed to be replaced, that they would send it to L6. Turned out a bad USB Dongle had caused the whole mess in the first place. So I don't think that even all the "Authorized Service Centers" can fix everything without it going back to the factory at some point........This seems to be a decision made by L6 to limit the capabilities of their own service centers. I guess that the moral of the story here is...........One never stops being amazed by all the little things that can, and does affect these things, and you have to approach what your issues are with a lot of deduction and common sense depending on your individual circumstances. I also think L6 has about the worst service/parts availability business plan that makes things more difficult than they have to be ....IMHO. Unless you like waiting forever and shipping your stuff all over the country. I have a great luthier who can fix any guitar, but he knows by experience when he has to stop at a certain point due to parts availability, or lack of the proper tools, or just plain lack of valid repair info from the company involved with that particular instrument. And I'm not talking about set-ups here, just repairs or modifications. It's a long and winding road that we have embarked on here, I'm just glad I don't have to send my truck to Detroit for a tune-up. Shawn
  12. You'll find more help here from your fellow users than you'll ever see from L6.....period. But they do hideout and watch  Yes, it doesn't make much sense to me either. Shawn
  13. I'll bet that you sleep with 'yer eyes open..........huh?
  14. Well, it sounds like the answer to that is.................one............it's in Calabassas, Ca. This is a great post with some insight to offer...........Thanks ! Can you imagine what folks in foreign countries have to go through to get things repaired? Hello...?.....Yes, this is Me&Eds repair center.........How may I not help you today?..........Hello...?Hello...? Shawn
  15. Nice way to edit in an answer, but it's an answer after all. I won't put you on the spot anymore.....just trying to keep the thread on topic. Wish You the Best Shawn
  16. I have to tell 'ya .....This IS the best and most creative reply to date. You''ve got some talent going to waste here on these guys. I'm becoming a fan.......always loved great satire. Keep on keeping on, Shawn the desolate one     :P :P :P ;)
  17. I'm too busy to fish through everything you've ever posted too. A++++ on avoiding every question again though. Do you work for L6? sniff sniff sniff
  18. I might be the only person to notice that all the set-up info that has been posted here.......NONE of it comes from L6. However, it's good info coming from forum members. Which is exactly the point of the thread. If you want the information, you have to look elsewhere for it. The company that you bought your guitar from won't help you. Stevekc, I asked you several questions yesterday and you managed to answer none of them. I'm pretty sure my Masters Degree included reading lessons and the only info relating to set-up was for the trem bridge. The rest had to do with repairs and parts, but the important fact is that the info is coming from a Roland forum. Maybe I need to go to the Mack Truck forum to find out how to fix my microwave?? And all we hear from L6 is...........................................................
  19. The question is more geared towards.....Why won't L6 tell us squat?? Obviously there have been set-up books written before, L6 is stating that the JTV is different.
  20. I posted a thread about a set-up stepXstep . But there seems to be important info missing that would apply to the JTV's if you read into the posts on the other threads. Shawn.
  21. That's not what Line6 says. I quote" there are the usual & some things unusual involved" & "there are pitfalls & traps to be avoided" & "these aren't like other guitars". especially 'yer Grandpa's. Sounds vague at best to me. Shawn
  22. Did I miss something here.??...I just found general forum discussions. Shawn
  23. Do you think you have the ability to set-up a JTV then? You sound to me like you would. Have you worked on them before? And how can someone in a different location guess what the conditions are here to do a proper set-up? Also, if I send my getbox to line6, are they going to customize it to my preferences, or just set it to factory specs???? I got questions..................????? Shawn
  24. This discussion has been buried in a couple of other threads and it has drawn a lot of responses from everybody except Line6. It seems that after more than several folks have asked for the set-up specs for their JTV guitars, we got a flat refusal from Line6 service to release any information to their customers. This has been talked about in the "String slipping on my JTV 69" & "Can a Luthier repair my Guitar" threads. Most of us don't understand why we are being kept in the dark over this and to suggest that we HAVE to ship/send/drive our gear to be properly set-up by an Authorized Service Center" is just flat not a real solution in most cases. Unless there is something that can be tuned or adjusted inside the electronics that has to do with a proper set-up, it seems an insult to suggest that no one else could possibly do it right. I've been maintaining my own guitars for many, many years now, that includes a 600 & a 700 that I have sitting here, and have never heard of a company that won't give out the info needed to maintain ANY musical instrument that I have owned. My 59 is way past any warranty like many others, and voiding it isn't a concern, although that seems to be the main reason for refusing to share information with us. If you have an opinion on this....Please post a reply. Maybe a moderator will move the buried posts to this thread to help direct this discussion to a proper thread title??? Remember.......only mushrooms grow in the dark.... Shawn
  25. Well, it sounds like it's gonna be something "Unusual". "Pitfalls and Traps" seem to be involved !! per Line6 service the sky is falling....the sky is falling...cluck .. cluck ... cluck... You must have dicked with it then. Yah, but I'm pretty sure nobody saw me. Sarcastic Shawn
