  1. Like a good book...I had to read this one again...... ....
  2. After the blood returned to my brain I thought...........WHAAAAAAATTT??? Then I tried to find something here that I could agree with. Sorry....... about says it in a nutshell 'cause that's what this is...........Sorry A little warning here.......we the people ain't gonna like this for an answer. This would be a great time for Line6 Tony to either confirm or deny that this is COMPANY policy. Customers don't like to be kept in the dark about information that would help them keep their musical instrument in top working order, and when they ask for that info all they get is some really vague answer dodging statements like," You have to do the set-up right and be aware of a few things". What few things??? Then," You have to be aware of the usual and some things that aren't so usual"?? Like what?? Don't put the strings on upside down ??? All that is really helpful when I'm a thousand miles out to sea playing a gig on a cruise ship for two weeks and I want to make sure my weapon is dialed in for the next show. And yes, I really do go play on cruises. I just might be not using your equipment any longer though if this is really your company's stance on consumer support. Cruzinon2 proved that it seems that your the only guys with this attitude in the industry and I too might have never purchased a guitar from you if I had prior knowledge that your goal is to keep me in the dark about something "THAT I OWN". Maybe we need a new thread that that will bring this to the public's attention instead of being buried in this one?? This is unacceptable when the forum members are more helpful than the company itself............ I need to go lay down....blood pressure just went to zero... and I wonder..... if I dial 411 will someone there be kind enough to tell me where I can get medical aid? Shawn
  3. My guitar, and I suspect that many others, are long out of any warranty period that you have voiced concern over. What I do or don't do with it is on me. No offense, but I don't have a kitten to scratch. I just need the correct info to maintain my guitar. I don't find this to be a viable answer from Line6. It's a refusal to answer a good question that many of us have asked. and I'm Still Kylling It
  4. Is there a reason that you won't share the set-up specs with us? Several peeps have asked and all we get is silence. Line6 should be happy to share/post any info about setting up our guitars, not keep it a closely guarded secret. Kylling It
  5. The best thing is that they browbeat the original poster on this thread until he made a reply that fit their idea of the way one should be unhappy or leave this forum. Only then did you see them change their replies in return. So in effect, they wanted to control what the guy had to say in the first place while they seem to be the self elected content police. Who made your opinion more relevant than his? There are all different types of "Announcements" being made here. His was, "This thing is hard to use and it isn't giving me the tones I want so.." The negative crowd announced" We're total A*holes"! All I've tried to say here is, get some F**king manners and some class and respect for the other guy. You can disagree with the guys likes or dislikes in style if your a little more than an uneducated idiot. Also, if you think it's soo easy to dial in your HD500X, then you don't have one. Plus with all the time they spend here NIGHT AND DAY they really can't play anything other than a computer keyboard but they sure seem to have all the answers...don't they? How do you make music with that type of persona? I think yer right............bucking to become an "Line6 Expert" And Pianoguyy....Dude, you need some mental health care. But you win the prize for the most crap laden post I've ever seen. I'm embarrassed for you. I have learned who's who here though, and will tailor my activity here to reflect that. I'm done on this topic.....think I'll go to the lounge and post something positive. I use Line6 gear and like it. Am I a techno geek? No, I'm a guitar player. I have a BA in Music Ed from USC. I have a Masters Degree in Music with a guitar performance major from Northwestern U. I make my living as a Graphic Artist and a musician, about 50/50% of the time. My avatar is a piece of my artwork. I'm also a car nut. I also need to go practice to keep the old skills sharp. God Bless BB King, he's passed away, Nice Guys Finish First Here, Shawn Kylling
  6. Unless it's directed at you.....................3 pages of posts full of ridicule, yet everyone claims to want to be nice or helpful? look at how many posts these guys make....thousands...few include help or info. This is their forum....don't you forget it. They must be the most IMPORTANT people in the universe. Of course one can't help but notice you can't ever get them to stop or shut-up. They just spew the same-o same-o and can't wait to congratulate each other on their wit. Positive votes for these comments??? Really?? HEY LINE6 How about a forum site for ADULTS that have some CLASS. These bugger pickers here are starting to chap my hide. Shawn K
  7. I agree totally ! It's so ugly when people go out of their way to be like this. Pretty gutless too. If they tried it in person, somebody would knock their teeth out. But here, you can hide and be a real tough guy 'cause you have a computer and no adult supervision. Worst of all, none of them really have anything to say other than spreading some more hate loaded posts to this forum. The majority of us don't care for, or want to see that crap here or anywhere else for that matter. You want to be able to post your thoughts, but publicly ridicule the next guy for posting his. That's really childish and immature at best. I would like to thank everybody here that has spoken up. This forum has become the playground of some real hatemongers, so I be talking to the decent people by PM. The rest of you can have at it.......until Mommy makes you go to bed. Shawn
  8. Could you tell all of us about your tour so we can make sure we're not there either ??
  9. We don't care about anything YOU have to say either......take your own advice and JUST LEAVE your nasty comments to yourself.
  10. He's calling all the flamers out there ......... D I C K H E A D S...... Being an ARSE is the same in any language. I guess being able to do it incognito on a forum makes them feel good about themselves. To the OP, SORRY, we're not all like that. It's a good thing that we don't know who they really are 'cause from the sound of it, you wouldn't care for them anyway. Take it for what it's worth Shawn Kylling
  11. Common sense is sooo rare nowadays, it's almost like having a superpower ! There are guys here building their own rigs and making some great mods too !......but we ain't smart enough to set-up our own guitars???? That's like having a car and not being able to change a flat. You should be checking your set-up all the time.....Who's gonna ship their guitar away for God knows how long just for a proper set-up?? Or take a long drive over to Me&Eds Authorized Service Center? You think it'll happen while you wait ??? Lack of info makes the mystical legendary. Good Darn thing WE share what we've learned between ourselves. Still Kylling It
  12. Wait!!!! Remember ALL that custom shop design work that went into the new Standard ??? Kinda more like coming out with a new car model and having it still look like a VW bug . Could have saved a lot of time AND money by just putting JTV inerds and pick-ups on an old 700. Well, maybe a new sticker would be nice............. Kylling It
  13. Read the thread about guitar set-up that I posted.......and get a free magazine while yer at it. There are no secrets to a good set-up. It's just like any other guitar out there......no voodoo involved just because it's a JTV. Kylling It
  14. Is this the reason that they don't teach cursive writing in school anymore?? Get two guys together that can't read it and we're all screwed........... I just wish we could get other things fixed as fast as this forum site was. Now, Where's that black background????? Shawn
  15. Talk nice to the man and get a smokin' deal on a SKB hard case, some free strings and they even threw in a Levy strap when I got my 59. Kylling It
  16. This is why I went FRFR. I needed a really good acoustic guitar model/sound. I play a lot of classical acoustic sets. IMOHO It's the best set-up for all around use if you don't need the horsepower for a BIG, BIG venue. Great tone without having to pile on every effect known to man--------keep it simple. Don't try to overpower everything like Arislaf & Cruzin' says. Plus, How nice is it to have all the models usable AND sound good? Kylling It
  17. I use and recommend the M20d. It works well as part of my FRFR set-up. No problems, done everything I've needed so far. Make sure and ask for extra candy from Sweetwater for having to wait so long........... :) Kylling It
  18. That's GREAT news for us folks who have gone FRFR-Dream-riggin' ! The M20d and 2@Lt3's,L6link, a XD-V55 and a JTV 59 w/HD500X, makes for a sizable investment on my part. Good to hear your STILL gonna do your part..... ;) Still Kylling It
  19. Shop Sweetwater like Charlie says.....2 year guarantee for free & you get to look at all the ones in stock BEFORE you buy. Pick out the top you like best and notice they even tell the weights of each guitar. Some like 'em heavier, some lighter. My 59 is a well made getbox and you shouldn't have anything even close to what you got as a NEW? guitar. Kylling It
  20. OK!....Just changed my mind about the shoes...... Let's see....www.zapoto's .com. add to cart&proceed to check-out. Shawn
  21. Nobody that don't have sugar honey iced tea for brains would pay that for a used one, when for $50 bucks more you could have a new one with a 2 year guarantee and your pick of the litter.........................................would they? Still Kylling It
  22. Then they could have just put new Variax inerds, and pick-ups on a 700 and BINGO! Cheaper AND better is a poor juxtaposition at best. How is a $800 to $900 guitar going to be better than a $2000 one?? If it's worth isn't important, then anything you paid for it is too much. Value retained reflects a quality product. Here, L6 seems to be it's own worst enemy. Anybody interested in a 1983 Yugo??? Kylling It Ps I agree with the first half of your post though.
  23. Just finished doing the mod on mine-----GREAT TIP !!! L6 should take note and make 'em this way. Now I can squash it with my 14's......don't need no stinkin' clown shoes Kylling It
  24. At some point one would hope that the prices stay stable so that our old gear has some of it's value retained. To find out it has lost half it's value in just two years, from $1500 down to $750, is discouraging. If the JTV's were/are the flagship guitars, then why let them be sold below the price of the new standard model ? CURSE you guys for these fantastic deals!!!! I'm kinda smelling CLOSE-OUT here. Maybe we will see other new cheaper models to replace the 89&59 soon? I'd hate to see that as the 59 I got is a nicely made guitar, and I was hoping to see L6 take a step up, not down with their new offering. Seems more like it's back to the bedroom than," Welcome to the big show". Entry level stuff is great for newbies, but don't forget the folks that have invested in your gear and use it as a more professional instrument. I use/play mine 4-5 days a week and would hate to see this stall out. Maybe the next step is to reissue the 700 ??? Kylling It
  25. Just as a point of conversation here.......That makes a used one worth ? Shawn
