  1. Hi Guys, I apologise if this has been covered in depth. I can't seem to find any clarity on this stick model yet though. I just bought a Linksys Cisco AE2500 USB wireless dongle for my M20d. Yes, I know it's got an "A" in the model name, and the compatible dongle stated was just an E2500 - but I took a punt on buying this one, as the E2500 is almost non-existent in my country (Australia). Anyway, I plug it in to the M20d, and wait for it to initialise/be recognised, but nothing happens - the M20d just says "Status: No network adapter present". So is that it then.. give it a bin burial? I had hoped both models would be virtually identical. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  2. This year, the retail price for the M20d has dropped $500. For those of us who paid last year's price, its disappointing. I understand that the price needs to reflect the market. But dropping the price was not the only option. The M20d is a powerful platform. Upgrading the operating system to add more value could create more interest and breathe new life into the product line. What do you guys think?

  4. I'm looking at buying a StageScape and see that it would require powered PA speakers. I have a nice set of unpowered PA speakers and wondered if I could put use an amplifier inline between the mixer and the speakers? If so, any amplifier suggestions? Nothing too extravagant. Thanks!
  5. How does everyone run their FBS procedure? Do you run it after all the auto trim procedures are complete? Do you run it with just monitors turned up and FOH off or both on? Do you raise the level of each mic one at a time until something starts feeding back?
  6. Soooo...I bought the Stagescape mixer a couple of months ago. Love it so far! I've done a lot of forums reading, skimmed through the manual, watched a lot of videos, and played with the unit a fair amount. I'm getting ready to do our first gig with it, 5 piece country rock band. For me, there's a certain level of anxiety that comes with this first time adventure and it's probably in part due to not being a sound engineer. Anyhow, I'm thinking if I had a process or workflow map of setting up the M20d properly for the gig I may have a fighting chance. Does anyone have or can share with me the high level steps you take to set-up the M20d for your band? I "borrowed" some of these from other posts, but this is what I've come up with so far: Pre gig set-up - Stage with mics and instruments - Use canned pre-sets for starters - Set up monitors Gig set-up - Masters all down (some monitor level ok) - Set vox levels to unity gain - Set all other instruments to -5db - Auto trim Kick and Snare independently for baseline (mic) - Auto trim the overheads while drummer plays full kit (mics) - Re-autotrim all three drum channels. - Auto trim bass independently (line level input) - Auto trim guitar (mic) - Auto trim keys (direct) - Auto trim vox mics seperatly - Record sound check song(s) - Tweak FOH What am I missing? At what point should I ring out the room? Does someone have a preferred process for doing that? All pointers welcome. Thanks Martin
  7. I know how to create groups for input channels but I'm not seeing how I can create groups or busses for outputs. I would like to have the ability to control the 4 monitor volumes simultaneously once I have them dialed in. Is this possible?
  8. Attached to this document is a list of all 200+ DSP presets that are available in the StageScape M20d. M20d presets.pdf
  9. Hello to everybody, I’m thinking about buying the M20D(maybe used if I get a super deal), and switch my band setup from analog to digital, mainly for ease of setup, our situation is pretty typical (drum bass guitars voice and a few sequence), so we will be using always the same scene, with small adjustments regarding the venue or a few guests. I already checked how this mixer works and I think it can do everything we need in a nice package, but I’m here to ask for help, since I tried it once and it was super cool, but it isn't mine so I cannot check every feature, so please I will be glad if any expert user could tell me if I’m gettin’ it right or not. For live use I will need a complete channel strip for the Singer, so eq-compressor-deesser-(enhancer)-reverb, independent from other channels. For drums, eq for all channels and compressor for overhead kick and maybe snare. For guitars and bass, eq. For main out, limiter and eq. Can I do everything with integrated efx in the M20D without linking external units? For Home studio use, I understand it can do as an USB audio interface for windows 10 machines, so I can sell my focusrite Scarlett and Motu 8pre and link the Line6 with Cubase with the same functionality, right? Or I can use it only to record live performance on SD or usb cards? We are afraid to loose a little bit of quality since now we are using an Allen Heat Zed22fx which is a great analog mixer, but I’m confident that with an integrated digital mixer I can balance things much more precisely. Please feel free to comment, you will help me join the community of Line6users.
  10. Hello Community: to those of you who do gigs with the Line6 PA system: what levels do you set on the Master out on the M20d, and where do you set the Level pot on the M3M/Ts facing the audience ? In medium/small venues i mean...bars, small stages... Is it better to keep it high on the mixer ( -10dB ?) and low on the speakers...or keep the speaker level knob on the middle notch position, and then adjust on the mixer...sorry for the maybe mundane question but i got no experience live with this PA and will have some in the near future possibly... And no, i can't try this at home!:-) Cheers, Alberto
  11. Hello, i find great that the M20d can record the full band while playing...the sound quality is excellent too. I noticed though, that the level of the recorded file is extremely low...it sounds loud when played back on the M20d itself ...but when imported into a computer, for example into Audacity, you can see the waveform is a very thin line....and playes back extremely soft. You need to normalize the audio to get to a "normal" volume. Is there anything to do on the M20d to set the recording level higher than this ? Many thanks if anyone has noticed this before...
  12. Hi I've just bought a new M20D. On very first power up the screen locked up. I power recycled and the system booted up correctly. However, it still periodically locks up on power up. Initially I was able to use the multi-track record function, writing to a USB. But now the system won't read any USB I plug in - I can't create a folder or start a recording session. This is a brand new system - Line 6 what is the issue as this seems to have been a problem with the system since you first released it. I running v1.20 firmware so according to the web site the latest [sic] version. Cheers Dave
  13. I sold a StageScape M20d to a customer. He recently bought a new PC with WIN10 and uses this only for music recording and producing. He has a fresh system installation and no unused software installed. Is in fact the driver from 2015 the latest one available? To be honest I can't imagine that this update period fits the needs in these times of quick updates each and everywhere. Anyway, the customer has the following problem: As soon as the M20d is connected or he tries to assign audio inputs in Cubase the system hangs and the only way to get out of this is to turn off the PC complete and restart it. Is there any solution and will this driver be updated at least one day??? Thanks for a quick answer.
  14. Hi all, In iOS 10, Apple started adding a notification message when you opened up certain apps saying "app name may slow down the performance of your ipad' Line6 addressed the issue here: http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/live-sound/stagescape-m20d-mixer/stagescape-app-ios-101-compatibility-r841 In iOS 11, apple will prevent legacy apps from running at all www.macrumors.com/2017/01/31/32-bit-apps-wont-work-on-future-ios-versions/ (at least that's what the 10.3 beta version of iOS suggests). IOS 11 is due in September and if that is the case that apple will be turning off 32 bit apps, can line6 confirm they will be updating the app to support 64 bit on the new iOS? Or whether I should ensure I never update my iPad above iOS 10? Thanks David
  15. Hi Guys, Our band plays at a lot of venues with interesting sound control requirements. We run an M20d as our mixer into my Nexo sound system - we run that as per normal, but the venue is trying to cover a large area with many rooms, so they order us to plug a stereo feed into their in-house ceiling system, so that our main mix I pull from stage gets piped throughout various rooms in the venue.. So I run straight out of the M20d stereo main outs into my PA and mix that for audience directly where we're playing, but how do I patch that same mix into to the house system. They usually have two XLR inputs (left and right stereo ins) on the wall side of stage we need to plug into.. On my old desk I had a summed stereo out with separate gain knob I could use. How should I do it on the M20d - it doesn't have such a thing.. Thanks, Stu
  16. Hi Guys, I've got a few of our band's songs recorded on my M20d ('inputs and main mix' on my SD card), and when I'm sitting at home using them to soundcheck our Nexo gig PA, I notice that, whenever a channel has audio recorded, if there's signal present, there's a realtime spectrum analyser wave jumping around on the screen in behind the settings, when I'm in the deep tweak section of the 6 band EQ setting. This is on my vocal mic channel, as I'm trying to tweak the sound of it. Is this just for display purposes of what realtime frequencies are firing, or is there some tangible/operational way it can be utilised to improve sound?
  17. Apple has introduced a new warning message with iOS 10.1. The message reads: “[App Name] may slow down your iPhone/iPad”, followed by “The developer of this app needs to update it to improve its compatibility.” Despite this message, our testing did not reveal any issues with the StageScape app on iOS 10. In any event, Stagescape Remote 1.21 resolves this issue. With this update, Stagescape Remote will work with iOS 11 (and above) and the warning that the app needs to be updated will no longer appear.
  18. It's been 3 years now... Is anything at all happening with the M20D? Any firmware updates planned.. any new patches being developed.. anything that resembles development, evolution, or even interest of any type? Could one of you Line 6 Techs, just one time, throw us one scrap of information on it?
  19. Some times you just have to bite the bullet... I had bought one of the original USB / Wifi adapters listed in the StageScape manual, and it worked great. Only problem is that at one point, the bag the StageScape was in was thrown away because of an adult beverage being spilled on the bag. Unfortunately, the wifi stick was in the bag :( I tried the Samsung one for the TVs that was mentioned, which sort of worked, but I kept getting drop outs, and at one point, the StageScape completely locked up (in the middle of a song!!!!) I decided to go nuclear, and go with the "it's gotta work and be easy" route. I picked up the Apple USB to Ethernet adapter and the Apple Airport Express on my way to the gig. Set everything up in 5 minutes, and not ONE hiccup. Extra bonus was that because the wifi is 802.11n, the lag was GREATLY reduced on the iPad app. So far, that's been the best wifi setup for the StageScape. I just wish that Line 6 would add the spectrum analyzer to the EQ on the iPad. I can see where it'd probably be a problem with some methods of transmission, but with the Apple setup, it should be able to work...
  20. Hi, I play in a 6 piece covers band. 1 Fem & 4 male vox, Yamaha electronic kit & Tyros 5(through a rack mount DI), Spider 2 Valve (DI'd), Peavey Bandit (Micd) and Bass (DI'd). We use an M20d with 2 L3s, 2 L3t, and 2 L2t as monitors for front of stage with a couple of active wedges for keyboard player and drummer. We do mainly corporate and function work as we're too big for most pubs. Had the Line 6 rig for year or so with no problems until NewYears eve when we had a particularly important gig with a good agent coming to see us with a view to pushing on in the new year. Started our first 45 mins set and had a great sound until about 6 songs in, at which point the keyboard channel (linked stereo pair) suddenly started to hiss, Really loud, and no keyboard sound. No matter what I did, other than turn the channel fader down, would stop the hiss. When I checked the trim level it was stuck maxed out even though I run auto trim (Godsend). I turned the fader down and moved the Tyros to another channel and patched the guitars through 1/4 inputs to free up XLRs for the Tyros, and we finished the set. During the interval I rebooted the M20d and the problem cleared. I put everything back to how it should be and we started the 2nd 45 mins. Again after about 5 songs, same problem. Rebooted 3 times before it cleared. Our 3rd set was fine though I did reduce the gain on everything just in case I was the problem!! Question is, has anyone else had this problem or if not any ideas as the rest of the band have no faith in the set up now and want to go back to our old system of Behringer desk with Peavey amps and speakers and I'm getting a bit too long in the tooth for all that weight and wiring!! Happy New Year everyone!
  21. I bought a StageScape Mixer in December 2014. The first time I used a performance live display was blocked and would not let me touch anything but the sound was ok. After that I used 3 more times and always blocked where I was playing. The last time was this Saturday and blocked three times and I had to change my table. I made the re-installation of the 1.2 firmware to try to analyze it looked good but after that the display at least once blocked and faded. Someone had a problem identical to this with this table ?? Thank you
  22. I ordered an M20D through Sweetwater (still waiting for it to be shipped) but have since read numerous posts and am worried by what appears to be the lack of support from Line 6 regarding updates, etc. I placed my order nearly 2 months ago and am still waiting for Sweetwater to receive inventory. Should i cancel my order and go with another board such as the Studiolive, Touchmix or x32 or will it be worth it for me to stay patient?
  23. I need to utilize the iPad app, I tried recording to a USB but ran out of space after recording the inputs and main mix for about 1:45 hours. It was a 16gb card What is the biggest we card that the mixer will take? I currently use the usb to connect to a wired network through an apple lan adapter and it works great Is it possible to hook up a wifi USB adapter and a usb hard drive to record to or is a large sd card the only option with wifi?
  24. I just got off the phone with Line6 support who confirmed my dilemma. Here’s my situation: Solo acoustic artist Want to record every show Have an M20d, L3t, & L3m Love the L3t acoustic modeling Haven’t been able to recreate the same tone/body with M20d DSP effects/presets If I plug guitar into L3t and take its Mix Out back to the M20d, it competes with L6 Link (feedback loop) Bottom line, if I want to use M20d (which I do for recording, vocals FX, setup/scene recalls, etc), I can’t use L3t's acoustic modeling So… Has anyone found the right M20d DSP chain and dialed in the best combo of FX presets to emulate L3t’s acoustic modeling? If so, can you please share the chain & each block’s settings? I will also post this feature request as an idea for their next firmware update here -> http://line6.ideascale.com/
  25. Hey there, my band have a stage 2 days later; but i am having trouble with stagescape m20d . I cannot open it. When I push to open it says on black ''Line 6'' backgrounded screen: ''App returned with status 127'' I don't know what to do. It happened for nothing. I didn't remember I did something wrong, what should I do now? any suggestions? please help me about it. Thank you so much. Hakan.
