  1. Hello, I am always bothered by some unclear wording in the instructions. This is a bit difficult for me as I am not a native speaker but I do my best Here are a few suggestions for changes, but you are welcome to add more or different forum wording... ... as it includes thousands of files used for the model simulations. Everytime I read the original text I wonder about, if they included additional cab-IRs. It's dumb but I guess it's not me alone ;)) Helix Floor/LT: While holding footswitches 9 & 10 (bottom row, 2 middle switches), turn on Helix Floor/LT and keep the footswitches pressed untill the devices splashscreen disappears. From my POV it is absolutely important to know how long I should press something because it could make a difference and maybe it could crash something, if I release a switch to early?!
  2. A car may not be the best example because I'm pretty sure you can trigger a voice assistant and ask your cars OS to turn on the AC without touching anything. That will not be the way to go on a modeling device, at least in a stage situation.
  3. It happened all of a sudden and without any import or changes other than some block parameters or adding a snapshot within a preset. Even the setlist was not touched. I do backups nearly every time I work with HX Edit and keep backup-files over month so nothing is in danger here. But it would be fine to help L6 to find possible causes for the issue.
  4. THX. I will open up a support-ticket and get back with the answer!
  5. Similarities here. I will open up a support-ticket and get back with the answer!
  6. Hi. Today I noticed a strange symbol and behaviour in HX Edit for the first time. After a backup a plectrum symbol appeared at the end of one of my user setlists (screenshot attached). After restoring this backup, instead of f.e. "034 ENGL 2.2 + plectrum" there appeared "034 New Preset" with a complete empty path. To restore the 032 to 042 I had to go back 3 backups and almost 2 weeks back until the presets were listed correctly again and provided with the correct path content. Anyone ever seen these plectrum of death or have any info on them?
  7. Hi Derek, let's start by checking your signal chain which goes bass > cable > Helix Guitar in > ... please add
  8. My two JTV59s and my Helix's VDI port are the reasons I never checked (at least) KPA or QC and wouldn't try any other competitive modeler or PlugIn. Without the VDI integration, I'll be sure to test some options, regardless of the brand. That's what you're losing, L6. An integrated ecosystem that provides customers with complete care and keeps them within your system.
  9. Sounds a little bit like my reverb-mix problem posted here ...
  10. Makes sense but doesn't help ;) Problem is the accidentally touched mousewheel, when navigating or even editing a wrong row. This could and should be prevented by an additional editor option like "Change values by mouse only when alt key is additionally pressed". This is an option I would definitely activate at some points of my tone building process. Give me a like if you would support such an idea and I will pack it onto ideascale.
  11. Like to aks, before submitting this idea: is there any way to lock a value in HX Edit? It seems that I accidentally change values, using the mousewheel from time to time, so at some point of my tone journey I would like to fix selected presets, snapshots or (better) selected values to avoid unwanted changes. Strange: Both times it seems I had changed values by accident on the mix-value of a reverb block, so my tone was some kind of quite and very spheric.
  12. YouTube is full of comparison vids between HD and Helix. Go and find some and the conclusion, that most of the people comparing those devices prefer the Helix. For myself I had problems recreating my HD tones with the HX until the moment when I realized that it's not practically to try to recreate a more compressed and digital sounding tone. From that moment I tried to build my preferred tones from scratch and only looked back to compare the "direction" of the tones. After 6 month I am not totally there because I had optimized my HD tones over years, to fit them into the construct of our band-sound. But I am absolutely sure, I will get my HX tones better in comparison within the next 6 month!
  13. From my experiences in handling Hard- and Software and even developing and selling my own Antiperspirant-line I found out that of 100 People having a problem Just 80 recognize that there is a problem which should be taken a closer look at. The other 20 don't even care. 20 out of 80 will search for help in the WWW. 10 will contact the seller or manufacturer for help, after searching the web. 1 of those will come back to a forum or group to help others with the solution. 90 % will rant about the problem, seller, manufacturer and all the big efforts they have made. But nothing helped :/
  14. No one will open a proposal on Ideascale for anyone else. You have to do it yourself and then you have the opportunity to explain and promote the idea here! So that it gets votes. That's the idea of using ideascale. To develop products further or to find improvements for new products.
  15. So from my understanding the separation of cabs from the Amp is more or less about experimental options and for users, that need to split paths (f.e. to feed a real cab on stage). Cool, this offers me the possibility to keep my paths as simple and lean as possible + let me save my complete A+C favorites the easiest way :) Thank you for your help and Edit: Ouh... this might be something I should consider to take a look at tomorrow :/

  17. So no need to split Amp+Cab for a more or less traditional usage of chains, right? I like the idea to dial in my preferred combinations of A+C perfectly and store these as defaults.
  18. Hello. After switching from the POD HD500x I am building my presets from scratch on the Helix and I am unsure if I should keep some free space for effect in between amp-block and cab or use the Amp+Cab cominations. Which effect should be definitely placed in between amp-block and cab? I like to try some recommandations before and after the cab for a comparison in the results.
  19. Yes, I meant the stock cabs, sorry! And I always use my Yamaha DBR12 active FRFR-Monitor. No amp, here.
  20. Most likely most people will use the offered internal speakers for FOH + personal monitoring. Does the signal still sum up to a "mix of all outputs" in this case?
  21. Okay. I asked because I heard of differences in the output level (higher, when set to multi). But this could be of cause the result of an unproper routing.
  22. That's the best way to go!
  23. So you do not controle the XLR > FOH signal with your master-volume knob, right? Instead you asign Volume Knob Controls only to the 1/4. Sounds logical. But should I global assign Headphones Monitor to 1/4, XLR or Multi? I am unsure about the differences.
  24. I am wondering about how to feed my Yamaha DBR12 active FRFR-Monitor the best way? Coming from the POD HD500X, at rehearsal I had an external volume-controller connected from my 1/4 output to the DBR12, so I could dial in my personal volume by foot. Now it seems to me, that with the Helix floorboard I could get rid of the external volume-controller, using the Phones-level dial and connect the Phones-out to the DBR12. But is this realy the way to go or should I use an 1/4 output anyways and assign the Phones-level dial somehow, so that it only controlls the 1/4 out? This seems possible but at home I like to use the Phones-level dial for my Headphones without switching the settings.
