  1. Yes, you can use the Sonic Port as an excellent In/out for every single Amp-Sim and DAW-like iOS app I know. Including JamUp, BIAS amp, ToneStack, .. To be honest I did not find any incompatibilities yet but heard of a clicking noise problem on some iPhones >5
  2. I use POD HD Edit and Workbench HD on a 10 years old EeePC netbook under Windows 10. There must be a thread or post around, describing the way I deal with the lack of display height by a minimal resizing.
  4. You maybe have to select a older Operating System like Windows 7 to get the files filtered because they are simply not available as a native version for newer OS (even if they could be installed using older Java versions).
  5. Thank you for your experience with this problem. You should also copy your findings into this epic thread http://line6.com/support/topic/6764-do-you-have-the-same-problem-with-6th-string/
  6. Maybe about Glenn DeLaune or Choptones?
  7. Sorry, but that would be to specific for a non-native speaker like me. Please search for videos instead, which explains how to set a device as input and output in the OS-X system-preferences.
  8. The magic lies in the Audio-MIDI-Setup on OS-X. There you can define all routings. Try pushing cmd+space and then type "audio" to open these preferences.
  9. If there is a PRAM battery at all? I am pretty sure the POD HD works with some kind of Flash memory.
  10. Your welcome! I didn't figured out some things by myself, f.e. how to finally delete selfmade presets (not only from a setlist) or how to exchange presets between my iPhone 5 and my iPad 4 the best way (without creating douplicates (which can't be deleted) all the way).
  11. Click it, hold and pull it down to its colored box. Gone :)
  12. Thank you :) I have 0000 Steel wool here at home, so I will give it a try on one of my JTV-59
  13. Can you please post a picture of the type of Scotch pad you used? I am interested in trying the same because my hands get stuck from time to time too, when sweating.
  14. If you activate two effect-blocks and assign them both to the same switch both will be deactivated (when you save the patch in this state) when you use the footswitch and vice versa. If one of those two blocks is active and the other inactive they will switch their individual state.
  15. Because you asked in the forum section for "general discussion" no one can know which Line6 device you are using.
  16. It is a pain in the @ss that L6 do not allow to block these knobs by an option in the system parameters. Something called "stage-mode" could easily prevent unwanted changes.
  17. WORD! And only use the interface for re-flashing the firmeware and... do it twice, for safety reasons* * not kidding! The flash overwrite seems to be glitchy somehow, especially when a other device than the interface is used
  18. Your welcome! Please keep in mind not to push the gain-stage before the amp to hard to avoid digital-clipping ;)
  19. Try to set both inputs to "Variax" on the HD (I don't know if the Helix has the same option?). The tone will become filled with warmth, punch and some fingerlicking spicy mustard immediately ;)
  20. Some answers on FB are more inclusive, saying: "Pad mode is only for instruments with active pickups. Passive pickups never overload the gain stage even with high output Pickups." Any opinions on that? That's the way I use it at the moment. If the pad is not needed anything I loose (in worst case) should be some tone-thickness and dynamics, didn't it?
  21. As many others I am searching for a solution to connect my smaller Sonic Port (without VX) to a desktop PC or MAC, to use it as an regular audio-interface. Here are two other threads, where the the basic possibility are declared… http://line6.com/support/topic/1042-usb-too-or-just-30-pinlightning/ http://line6.com/support/topic/7018-sonic-port-and-gragaeband-on-a-mac-computer/ Unfortunately no one has postet a self-testet adapter or cable to… either connect the existing 30 pin male to a solution providing 30 pin female > Standard USB A or connect the existing Lightning male to a solution providing Lightning female > Standard USB A And if someone could specify the type of USB-port at the device itself, maybe no adapter would be needed because in this case it would be possible to use a solution like "strange USB-port of the Sonic Port" > Standard USB A But obviously the easiest way would be, if Line6 or another service would offer the standard USB A-cable for the desktop-connection from the bigger Sonic Port VX as a replacement or addition
  22. JTV-59 & POD HD500x users: How do you use the "Guitar in pad/normal"-switch on the POD HD? I feel and read that the PUps on the 59 are very hot, so I use "pad" to prevent peaking the gain-stages at the POD.
  23. Interesting master-thesis about ampsimulations and it's components. Unfortunately (for you) it is in German language, but maybe it can be translated by Google? Otherwise the comparing graphics might be nearly self explaining on pages 38, 53, 54 which illustrates the 3 basic tests A (all knobs like Marshall, 212 cabsim), B (tweaked to match), C (cabsim off, Bogner 212) https://www.hdm-stuttgart.de/~curdt/Schempp.pdf Abstract The goal of this study is to analyze whether digital ampsimulations are able to reproduce the sound of real analogue tube amplifiers and possibly replace them completely. They are tested with different settings in different scenarios and heard solo and within a mix of a pop-song. Furthermore the components of the whole signal chain which surround the ampsimulations are analysed and possible deficits revealed.
  24. Hi bether, does this adapter cable need some special specs, or can I take every femal 30 pin to regular USB adapter (is this the stuff labeled "Camera Connector"), to connect the Line6 Sonic Port to a Mac. Most of these cables and adapters are declared for powering the device and not for data transfers. Maybe there is a female Lightning to regular USB solution, too? And does this solution even work with a PC on MS Windows?
