  1. Just choose "used" and type in the date of your own purchase. As you bought it used, it is most likely that there is no warranty to loose so the date of the initial purchase is useless for you and Line6. You would even need the bill to get warranty services so the date of purchase is useless.
  2. Hi. I am new to Mobile POD and only got real experiences from Apps like JamUp, ToneStack, AmpKit. So far I use a App called iFile Organizer to play along over audio-tracks from my bandmates. iFile Organizer offers the ability to loop parts of a song and lets you decide the tempo up- and downwards. As the Mobile POD App offers similar features I thought about using these when jamming, but there is a big disadvantage, which seems to be the "import possibilities". Regardless to what other App I refer, all those others can be feed by using the "open in...", "Import to...", "send to..." feature of the cloud-services like iCloud, Drive and Dropbox where Mobile POD only seems to support the iTunes library as a source for imports into it's setlist. But this library itself can only be feed by purchasing tracks or syncing the music in your iTunes-Desktop library. Does anyone have a solution for this? How do you import playalong tracks into a music-setlist of Mobile POD?
  3. ... much more than Customtones I would prefer exchanging MY tones from iPhone to iPad via iCloud or similar Cloud-Services (like in JamUp). Is there already a petition for this on idea scale? Can't find one â˜ï¸ EDIT: Found the tone-export feature. The GUI of mobile POD seems a bit tricky compared to JamUP f.e.
  4. There is a big difference if strings are older than weeks or EOL. The tone comparison I had recorded is no fake and you should hear the difference recorded on a V600 too, don't you?!
  5. Hi. A friend of mine plans on using the Helix as a Bass Preamp for Live usage. He does not want to go In-Ears or some silent-stage-stuff, rather he likes to get his massive analog bass-tone on stage, using the Helix and some kind of speaker-system. The tone should be amplified over his Gallien-Krueger Bassamp, using the Effects-Return to feed the solid state output stage. Which FRFR speaker-system would a Bass-Player prefer for the look & feel and the most versatile bass-sound? Is it best to go 2x15 passive PA-System Speaker or will a 1x15 do the job for bass? Or shall he still use his two 4x10 Trace-Elliot cabs driven from out the GK-Amp? A active FRFR would be no alternative, because he likes to have a amp on the cab for optical reasons ;)
  6. So why don't give hurghanico some good Karma back by using the green "thumbs up" arrow? And please mark the most helpful post as the solution, just to help others find the answer the quick way ;)
  7. I had the BIAS Head for some testing and was (after some tweaking) very impressed of the Orange, GK and Ampeg. It is a different concept and lacks of any effects but the amp sims and power of the Class-D is very good. But a POD HD500 with additional amp-pack and a decent amplifier might do the job too.
  8. Did you put new strings on it? Here is my comparison dead vs. alive https://soundcloud.com/sascha-ballweg/variax-600-spank-1-deadstring-vs-elixir
  9. I am not sure if the Variax Bass was supported by Workbench at all. Never had one but I remember that only the stored instruments are available and there is no possibility to create own models. Might be right or wrong... I am very unsure about that?!
  10. Nope, because when I change f.e. a spank I can not A/B it against the default without recording (if all 10 custom slots are occupied). There should be at least one invisible slot which could be loaded with a temporary patch from the playground-area I would like to see in Workbench. Do you get the point? Not sure if I explain the right way.
  11. That´s what I know, too. But why not offer a playground-area (which could be stored just local)? It is something the Positive Grid BIAS Head is offering and without a doubt… it does make sense. So in their software you have a small amount of slots which are synced with the HEAD (in our case the Variax). And you have this big and funny playground-area, where you can play around and hear chosen patches only temporary loaded into their HEAD (Variax), if you like. I do not understand how someone could not want this feature <_<
  12. Please show me the way to store and audition custom created models via POD and my Variax without exchanging presets in the custom banks? I only know the way to load my tries in a custom bank and try it there. If I like to try some creations against each other, the amount of custom banks is not really overwhelming. Even if I like to try a bundle with a modified list of default-presets I am not able to compare them the easy side-by-side way.
  13. Sorry for the clickbait-title but it is true! Never understood why the slots are so restricted and there is no playground-area which could be used to try custom models. https://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/An-area-to-store-unused-presets-within-Workbench-HD/902175-23508 Please give your vote to this idea :)
  14. I had the same issue on the g-string of my used Variax 600 backup guitar. So out of a simple intuition I pulled the string and let it slap on the piezo some times. I noticed the piezo came back to live but not for long so I repeated this procedure over the first week and from then some more single days until the problem disappeard at all (until today, 10 month later).
  15. JTVs work with the 500x, former Variax models just with the non-X version of the POD HD.
  16. First I do hope that you have a recent backup? Second, I am really sure that your POD needs a visite at an official L6 service center :(
  17. I had a similar issue after purchasing a V600 last year. The G string was weak at my first attempts. So I pulled the string and let it snap down on the piezo several times and afterwards, it worked short term. I had to repeat that over the first week and after that it never appeared again. Seems to me that the piezo did not sat well or wasn't straight.
  18. Give the neck some time to settle after every quarter rotation. It could need hours or even a day in some cases, especially when you adjust a baseball bat, like the neck of the 59.
  19. Hi. I bought a used POD HD500 as a backup for my 500x. The POD is in really good conditions, except the Patch/Bank Selector Knob, which was declared as broken and non-functional in the auction (got it for about 160 USD). The loose Patch/Bank Selector Knob is not really a problem because I am still able to switch the banks. For that reason I use the last patch in every setlist (16D) to copy "jump-patches" from one to another. If you f.e. copy a empty patch from your last setlist to the first, the POD automaticly switches from the source to the target-setlist. This tip was provided by the seller of my device and I found it really useful. What I like to ask is, how I can get nearby the Patch & Bank Selector Knob, to take a look if it could be fixed the easy way. Are the screws nearby the display the way to go? Or do I have to open the POD from the bottom. Otherwise I would only like to fixate it, to avoid further damage of the electronics nearby the knob.
  20. What's about leading us to the post, where the fix should be linked?
  21. @kinglerch I did understand already but the problems occur if you have to switch to another patch (f.e. Clean) and the pedal is (f.e.) down, which results in a volume loss, if the pedal is assigned to volume. That's all one has to keep in mind using a floating pedal switch from Crunch to Lead tone.
  22. @kinglerch I like the idea of choosing in between a tonal range of a rhythm and lead tone just in one patch but the usage of the expression-pedal has traps I am not getting around. Let's say I choose my lead tone at a pedal position of 75% to toe and I need a pure clean-tone afterwards. In that case my clean-tone will be at a level of only 75 % if I have the volume assigned to the pedal in the clean patch. Or is there a way to ignore the pedal position in a patch and let it start at 100 % upon the switch? I am not aware of this except when I am USB connected to HD Edit. I am still getting my head around that problem, trying to design my banks and patches a way it works for me, without the need for a extra bank per song. But to be honest I am pretty sure a player who is used to hot-step a bunch of analog pedals would laugh at my inability ;)
  23. Hi. Can someone please verify the behavior of the chosen input-type of a patch. I have a traditional e-guitar, a Variax 600 and a JTV-59 and I have recognised a strange behavior, I would like to understand. For every type of listed guitar I have a setlist with similar patches and every setlist contains patches where the input-type (guitar, variax, variax mags) is chosen on the level of the preset (not global). I thought this would be necessary to get the different guitar-types to work. Today I recognised that I was playing in a wrong setlist on my POD HD500 (backup-device, no X) using a VDI-cable. This was my main setlist where I have selected "Variax Mags" as the on and only input (2. is the unused "Aux"). So I wondered why there ever was a tone and I could switch models too? So I like to ask if there is a fallback logic which I can count on, so I can reduce the needed setlists to a minimum. I recognised that "Variax Mags" allows a fallback to "Variax". But what about playing with Input "Variax Mags" and storing a chosen model and/or tune when playing my JTV? Does the stored state overwrite the chosen input-type on a preset-base? And is there the possibility to fallback to "guitar" if I play a "Variax" or "Variax Mags" preset too? Unfortunately I am not able to test this by myself because I have left my POD HD500x and my two other guitars at rehearsal and just have my POD HD500 and my V600 in reach for the next week. I always play VDI-cables on both Variax. Thank you in advance, Sascha
  24. Are you sure? I could swear that the name is send directly to the POD after you hit return :/
