  1. Do you know the Peter Hammer Videos about dialing out fizz using the PEQ?
  2. Sorry, I was a bit in a hurry. Nope meant, that there is no blending value added. Mags are at 0,0. But it is no problem at all. Just a meaningless miss-indicating light, which can easily be overwritten pushing the modeling-knob and saving the patch, without any change in tone.
  3. Try using Lowpass/ Highpass on global EQ (100 Hz - 5500 kHz). If it works try to roll out similar settings per patch.
  4. 1: Nope 2: I use setlists for a traditional e-guitar and my Variax, su unfortunately going global is no option 3: Thank you nevertheless
  5. I should have mentioned that I was using a VDI RJ45 connection. The thing is, that I can hear, that I am using the mags but somehow the light indicates usage of modeling. If I press the modeling knob the sound does not change at all but the POD indicates a change to save. After saving the patch the light stays off, so no big problem but still a mystery.
  6. Weird... took me a while to understand, that correct selection of the input-path depends on the "cable". So Mags can be configured "Variax", which always means VDI-connection but you can drive the magnetic-PUs via input "guitar" as well. So if I choose to play a Variax f.e. via Relay G10 the only working input is "guitar", no matter that you play a Variax with mags or modeling. Same on a Variax connected via 1/4 cable. So it's the cable type connection you define, not the type of sound source. And to answer my Mags-fallback question: Mags-fallback only works on "guitar" (cable or wireless) just because in case of VDI there is no need for a fallback (battery is unused). But I'm still unsure about the knob-thing described above.
  7. Turn all knobs to zero, except the master-volume, which indicates your monitoring-level. Do not save the patch with those so reduced knobs! Recall the patch. This protects knobs from being tickled somehow by minimal vibrations or things like that.
  8. Okay... I found out, that pushing the enlighted model-knob not only disables the knob-LED but causes an * on HD Edit, too. After sending the patch, the LED remains disabled. But I am still unsure what is happening?!
  9. Hi. I switched from Variax 600 to JTV-59 TSB and find some problems for which I hope somebody can enlighten me. Using input 1 "Variax Mags" and input 2 "Variax" seems to lift the signal, so I have chosen "Aux" on second input path. Same on all patches which are using the modeling exclusively (bank 2). I use just one centered path, so path B is muted at all. But there are questions appearing... is "Aux" the best choise for a deaktivated signal-path? what happens in case 2 when I play 1/4 and batteries are weak? Is there still a mags-fallback, even if the second input is deactivated? My first bank is optimized for the mags. My 2nd bank is optimized for modeling. Both banks are configurated path-wise as described above... ...but why is the modeling-knob on the JTV enlighted, when I chosse patch C and D in my 1st bank? They seem to be configurated the same way as A and B  In my 2nd bank it is patch B where the light is off    I am really confused at the moment  This behavior can be reproduced with or without USB/HD Edit connection.
  10. There are many videos on you tube showing the standard tones. Please compare those to yours first.
  11. Thank you. Might be useful because of the poor design of the USB power-connector, which will surely break right after end of warranty.
  12. It's not a matter of income, more of ethic and moral. To be honest I could afford a Variax / Helix-Bundle every month but that's not my style of doing thing (nore am I good enough to justify such spendings). I love my POD because it works for me and if it would break today I would get another one tomorrow. But I like the idea to play loved physical instruments a lifetime and I'm esoteric enough to believe, that these wood with strings attached recognizes my love and gets some good tone and inspiration back ;)
  13. Are you able to ducument this taking some photos of the procedure?
  14. For me and for many other guitar-players a very good and pretty guitar, which is fitting every need is so much more than a device. In the best case is it something I love and something that is getting even better by age. I could compare this to a good wife if this comparison would withstand reality. But to stay in that comparison... why don't spent good matured mama a pair of nice new ... from time to time?
  15. I'm not familiar with the amount of Variaxes sold, but sometimes it´s as simple as a matter of live or let die
  16. If you consider the idea further on, you will find yourself thinking rubbish like "Variax ready" instruments from major brands and custom-designers :o Because of different instrument characters there has to be some kind of rough classification. But even that should be no witchcraft, if it is only about some sort of rapprochement.
  17. Unsure if it is possible at all I'm pretty sure this is something to be considered just for future generations. But maybe I'm wrong and it is possible or impossible at all for some reasons.
  18. Best idea ever! I can not understand why there is no reply to your idea. I would spend much, much more money on a Variax-Guitar which is not declared as unsupportable computer-trash after 6-10 years of usage.
  19. Thank you. At the last rehearsal I started with exactly the same patches and master-volume settings as before and recognised a big difference in volume, right before the transmiter started to blink red. I will keep an eye on that. It would be a big no-no if battery weakness would lead to volume-loss.
  20. What are the symptoms of a battery which has to be charged? I'm questioning the symptoms besides the flashing red light. Dropouts? Volume loss? Crackles?
  21. Why don't you put a simple passive volume pedal between 1/4 out and your own monitor?
  22. So cleaning has only to be done on the top and not at the bottom of the piezo? The bottom seems to be the part which could cause problems with grounding, isn't it?
