  1. The socket looks fine, I've made sure that nothing moved or was changed while I was trying to fault it. I only bought it on Friday and the shop is ok so I don't think I'll have any problems getting it sorted. Thanks for all your help. Craig
  2. Ok, so from cold I can "receive all" into the editor repeatedly for about 25 minutes then it starts failing and with the replacement power supply it is exactly the same. I guess it's a call to the shop tomorrow then. Craig
  3. So this morning I installed Monkey and the editor on my daughters Macbook and everything worked perfect. I had a bit of breakfast then tried it on the PC and no go, I went around the houses of maybe it was an earth loop, butchering a USB extension cable to remove the earth all to no avail. Finally I decided to try it on the Mac again and it didn't work, the Mac needed charging so I turned the pod off for a while then tried again and it worked! I gave it another ten minutes to cool down then tried it on the PC and again it worked! My conclusion is that either the Pod or the PSU are going faulty when they warm up, A local electronics chain has a suitable PSU in stock and they have a 30 day return policy so I'm going to get one and give it a go. I'll keep you posted. Craig
  4. Thanks for the tips guys, I'm out of time today so I'll try on the Macbook tomorrow and report back. Craig
  5. I do have a Logitech webcam but at the moment the only other thing attached via USB is my mouse and it's still not working correctly. Craig
  6. Thanks for your advice, I'll give that a go and if it doesn't cure it, I'll put the editor on my daughters Macbook tomorrow. Cheers Craig
  7. Yes I've tried them all, Most of them are direct onto the Motherboard, I'm using the cable that came with the Pod too.
  8. Sorry maybe I didn't explain that very well, the problem is when I start up the editor and it downloads all the patches from the Pod, I'm not getting as far as doing any editing. Craig
  9. Hi, I'm new to this Pod game but I'm still having problems with USB timeouts when HD500x Edit is synchronising patches. It can fail at any % along the way. I've tried it on two PCs and with a cable in or out of the jacks in case it's an earthing issue. Am I missing something? Thanks Craig

    Hello everyone

Thanks for the welcomes and tips guys, I did indeed bite the bullet and order a DT-25 which should arrive tomorrow so then I'll get stuck into creating some tones. I think the most important thing that I learned yesterday was the need to hold < and power up after a firmware upgrade. When I read that one of the symptoms of not doing this was sluggish USB performance everything became clear, It might help if Monkey told you to do that though. I've got an acoustic gig tomorrow night and I'm concentrating on that so it looks like Sunday will be my chance to play around. Cheers Craig

    Hello everyone

Greeting everyone, Craig here, a new Pod HD500X owner from the UK. I've had an AX2 combo for many years but decided it was time for something new so splashed out on the Pod and I am seriously considering adding a DT25 to that. I had a nightmare day with it yesterday after it demanded a firmware update which didn't seem to complete and then loads of USB timeout errors when using the editor. That seems to be all sorted now so time to find some great tones. Speaking of tones, where can I find some good solid ones? I've downloaded some from the custom tones site but there seems to be an lot of tones that are like "these pedals don't cost anything so I'm going to put them all in" I just want some solid amp tones with a bit of reverb for starters. See you around Craig
