Well I never, I came back to my patch but turned bass and mid down to zero, when I came back a couple of hours later there was absolutely nothing, I gave the bass control a tweak and the sound came back! s4n1ty I can confirm you're not going mad! Craig

When we've had weirdness like that it has always come down to induction loop hearing aid systems but considering that yours was an outdoor show that's probably not the cause. It confuses the hell out of our guitarist though! Craig
-
I did the same a shredzilla but mine was sat there for maybe 8 hours (today wasn't a guitar day) and I didn't notice any change in the sound when I played it then recalled the preset. Craig

Good call, I would never have thought of suggesting that.

Come to think of it, I've done a few gigs that wouldn't fit it in either :-) Craig

I know a lot of people here cite not having to carry 4x12's around anymore as a good enough reason to use the Helix but I'm pretty sure that Patrick Simmons speaker box wouldn't fit in the back of my car! Great video though. Craig

It switches between all three channels on my H&K Tubemeister no problem. Craig

Well you live and learn, I only know the Aimee Mann version and just assumed that she'd written it. Craig
-
Hmmmm, that's the first time I've seen Aimee Mann quoted here!

If you're getting a slight drop then maybe you have the guitar input pad turned on? With this off I found no difference in levels at all when I switch the loop in or out on although I do have it set up a bit different to you. Craig

Why not just turn the gain down on your distortion block just like a real pedal? Assuming you're not using snapshots to change that then it will reduce on all snapshots. Craig
-
Yes I enjoyed that too but did you notice how simple his patches were?

My old AX2 could do that! Craig

Well the small form Strymon's (Blue Sky, DIg) don't have midi control but their big brothers (Big Sky, Timeline) do Here's some clips of my sloppy take on Love Over Gold Helix Plate Reverb https://www.dropbox.com/s/e3vv5nrgjlf9qnc/L.O.G%20Helix%20Plate.flac?dl=0 Strymon Plate Reverb https://www.dropbox.com/s/37dde9xz7y3h8p8/L.O.G%20Stymon.flac?dl=0 But the Strymon can also do this! I'll have a go but this was more about being able to control the Strymons with the Helix rather than the sound of them. Craig
-
Well the Strymon can do a lot more than just a plate reverb and it was by far the best reverb I tried for acoustic guitar which was the reason I bought it, long before I got the Helix. Craig

Thinking about it, it would have made more sense to use the Tap switch on the Dig to set time and assign the controller to Repeats. It proves the point though. Craig

I have a Strymon Blue Sky and a Dig that I use with my acoustic setup which isn't seeing much action lately so I decided to try them with the Helix. My favourite Blue Sky sound is the plate reverb and I managed to get a pretty reasonable match out of Helix's plate reverb although it is nowhere near as spacial. The Dig has more possibilities because of it's Exp input. My Dig is set up for a Fav switch so I tried setting up a Ext Amp switch but couldn't get that to work. So then I used a TRS cable from the CV out and assigned a footswitch to CV Toggle 0/100 and this did switch the Dig Fav on and off! Getting more adventurous, I changed the Dig to Exp mode and assigned the Time parameter to it. I then assigned EXP1 to a CV out, min val to 100 and max to 0 and that worked great, slow delays with pedal up getting faster with pedal down although I found 90 and 20 to give a more usable range of delays. It's father's day here, I'm allowed an indulgence :) Craig

I was having a play around session yesterday and seeing as I'd never used the effects loops before I plugged my Strymon Bluesky up and it sounded awesome. Whether it's better enough to warrant all the hassle is a different matter. Craig

I'm enjoying the new patches too but I've got to ask, what does TDR mean? Craig

I once went on a training course and the instructor told us that the company's (not a musical equip co) biggest R&D cost was photocopier cartridges!! I was going to say something that rhymes with Derringer too. Craig

Have you tried the "contour" switch? many people here use TS212's and I would expect those to have even more bottom end. Craig

This is making my brain fizzle. Considering that everything is done in the digital domain, I'd not considered that an amp would actually have overall gain. Taking it a step further (just to be awkward), wouldn't the post amp signal actually be lower because it's coming from a mic in front of a cab? Craig

I was expecting you to say "Get blind drunk while listening to "Frampton Comes Alive" on endless repeat until you find one on Ebay" :) Craig

Sounds like a bargain, they're still £700 in the UK! Craig
