Dt 50 volume problems (not the typical Topo 1 low volume)
CraigGT replied to pakete242's topic in DT50 / DT25
I saw those for about £200 less that I'd just paid for my DT-25 but I think it would blow the walls out of my den. There is a factory reset procedure for the DT amps, have you tried that in case something just got screwed up? Craig -
I'm still pretty new to the pod but I think that input settings can be set to global or preset. I would suspect you have it on global and you'll need to change that and set your presets up accordingly. Craig

Thanks for the explanation Spaceatl, I'm not sure that argument will be strong enough to convince my wife though :-) Craig

I did figure out that's what was happening, but why is the DT25 switching to Channel B when I'm trying to use the amp model B in the lower path? It seems that If I have Amp A turned on then the DT25 works on Channel A otherwise it switches to Channel B. Craig

Can you Use the HD500X for simple DT25 switching?
CraigGT replied to M5dlv's topic in Dream Rig - Line 6 Product Integration
If you change the CC # to 12 then set the value to between 0 and 30 the footswitch will select the relevant amp model with default settings into Channel A. Craig -

Look at the midi implementation chart in the DT25 manual then assign the relevant commands to a footswitch on your HD500x. I did it the other day to switch the amps boost on and off as an experiment Craig -
In L6 Link settings I have Amp1 audio set to Left/Right and Control set to AMP A (CH1) Craig

I was wanting to compare full and pre amp models so I set up a simple patch with the pre model as amp A and the other as amp B with a footswitch to toggle between them. When I select the pre model it works as expected but when I change to amp B my DT25 switches to channel B but the power amp isn't configured so it doesn't sound right. the same thing happens if I put a pre model in amp B too. Is this something I have set wrong somewhere? Also in link settings does amp 1-4 refer to different DT amps (If I had more than 1) ? Thanks in advance, Craig

Thanks, it was more curiosity than anything else. I am an engineer by trade and I know that valve amps can bite very hard. I have a Burman 502 combo which is in need of some tlc but it's far too scary for me :-) Craig

I take it back, on a second look it's the LVM patches that use the full models. That'll teach me to play with the editor when I've had a rum and coke  Cheers Craig

They look like a really good idea. Craig

I understand the difference between full amp models and pre amp only models and I've read that ideally you should use pre's with a dt25 using link so why is the link-dt preset setlist built using full amp models? Craig

The L6 LINK Connectivity Guide for POD HD & DT Amplifiers v2.10 clearly states that, • The MASTER VOLUME controls are not synced between POD HD or any connected DT amps. The POD HD Master Volume also has no effect on the signal fed to the DT amp. Simply use the DT amp Master Volume knob on each amp to control its volume. Well my pod master volume is working so is that something that changed between the HD500 and X versions because the guide only refers to the HD500 or have I got something wrong? I also thought that Mic modelling was turned off when using the link? I don't have the option of 'None' in DT Edit. Thanks in advance Craig

So just for future reference, how do you check the bias voltages on a DT25? Craig
-
Awww, I was going to answer my first problem but silverhead beat me too it! :)

Thanks for all the info guys, I got the amp and pod last weekend but due to issues with the pod I didn't get to play around much. I should have more time to play with it all this weekend. Craig

Ok I have had a dabble with that so are we saying that the Blackface Double Norm in the editor/amp is different to the one in the HD500x? But as I understand it, the amp only has two channels and you can't save more settings and recall them with Midi Patch change messages? I'm just trying to get my head around what's doing what before I delve right in there. Craig

So the amp itself models pre and power amps in addition to the variable topologies?
-
Hi, I'm new to the DT25 Pod setup so am I right in thinking that if I use the Line 6 link then all the amp modelling is done in the pod which then switches the DT25 output stage to a suitable topology? and if that is the case does that mean I can take full advantage of the additional amp model packs? Thanks Craig

I saw Dave Gilmour at the Albert Hall, It's fairly obvious that he has something that you just can't buy. Maybe in the future though, like in the Matrix when they download a helicopter pilot program into Trinity :) Craig
-
Yes it does indeed make a noise, I guess this can be marked as Answered now although "go get a different one" doesn't sound very helpful! Thanks for all the help getting it sorted and I'm sure I'll be back with other questions like "why don't I sound like Gilmour" pretty soon :) Regards Craig

Ok, it's been on for two hours and it's still happily chatting to my PC, I guess it's time to see if it makes any noise! Craig
-
I've just got back from the shop with an exchanged unit, fingers crossed! Craig

Is there a list somewhere equating pod amp names with their real counterparts? Craig
