That is a pretty awesome video.
  2. I think my personal budget is more a single TS212 but it seems silly to not try a pair of K12's while they're readily available. Craig
  3. The band will allow it, I'm not sure about my wife though :D
  4. So far I've used my Helix with my Schertler acoustic guitar amp and my DT-25 using L6 link and direct into the effects return but it's my turn to look after the band's van for a while (I don't play guitar in the band). Anyway in the van are 4 QSC K12's, 2 QSC K subs, 2 Alto 112's and 2 Alto 115's! It could all get a bit Spinal Tap 😀 Craig
  5. But would it give me that "amp in the room" sound? ;-)
  6. Ahh you mean the old "Why don't you sell that old thing? You never use It" line 😀 Craig
  7. Hmmm, I'm not sure how my wife would react to me spending £1400 so I didn't have to use it anymore 😀 Just out of curiosity, how many of you have heard of Burman? Craig
  8. This thread turned out weirder than I was expecting 😀 Craig
  9. So the other week a friend called in and I introduced him to my Helix. He seemed quite impressed with it but I was still surprised when I found out a week later that he had gone straight out and bought himself one! Anyway he called in again this week, this time with his Les Paul in tow, so I plugged it into the Helix and let rip and It just sounded ok (probably more because I've tweaked my patches to suit my Charvel Model 6 than because it's a bad guitar) So I decided to plug it into my old valve amp, this is a Burman Pro 502 which you've probably never heard of. It was hand built in Newcastle, England in 1978 and I've had it since new. I don't use it much anymore, partly because I fear that everytime I turn it on might be it's last. Anyway, it sounded ******** awesome cranked up loud (gain 3 on 1.5!) with the Les Paul! Now I don't know if I want the Charvel and Helix or a Les Paul and the Burman or maybe I just want everything :-) Craig
  10. I tend to just leave mine on class A, pentode, topo 3 and let the Helix do the work nowadays. Craig
  11. I'm with you on that zooey, keep the existing globals but if a patch contains a different set of options then use those instead. The HD500X had a few settings that could be global or per preset, input impedance for example. Craig
  12. Someone created an 'Amp Room' setlist with all the amp models in similar setups. I'm not at home so can't look where I got it from though. Craig
  13. Good point, it definitely sounds like a grounding problem. Have you checked that your IEC cables are good?
  14. It sounds a bit obvious but have you tried the ground lift switch on your Helix? Craig
  15. Well you live and learn 😀 Craig
  16. Don't delays always glitch when you change the time parameter or are you hearing something else? Also you might have trails turned on which might make things worse. Craig
  17. So what is the preferred method? Adjusting an amp channel or master volume or the output block level? Thanks Craig
  18. Yes that stuff did the job for me too. BTW there are no electronics beneath the pedal so I wouldn't worry about spraying a small amount in there. Craig
  19. Just to prove my point, I connected my Helix to my Google Nexus 7 via an OTG cable and the Nexus did detect that something had been connected. Craig
  20. I have a pair of 24 Ohm Sennheiser HD201's and they sound rubbish with my Helix so I dusted off my 30 year old HD420 SL's which are 600 Ohm and they sound wonderful. So much for progress :D Craig
  21. Just thinking aloud from experience using phones to control a camera but if the tablet only has a micro usb connector then wouldn't you need to use an OTG cable? Craig
  22. If it's not switching your anp correctly then it would be a simple matter to use a pp3 battery and a small relay to do the job.
  23. I'm not sure if this is a bug or my confusion, The two new cabs 2x12 Match H30, based on* the Matchless® DC-30 cab (12†G12H30 speaker) 2x12 Match G25, based on* the Matchless® DC-30 cab (12†Greenback 25 speaker) are listed as 2x12's but with the other 1x12's in the editor along with a picture of a 1x12 cab Googling a Matchless DC30 describes it as a 2x12 with one of each speaker, maybe that's how we're supposed to use them? Craig
  24. I'd not heard of the guy but he has some tasty sounds, and don't Strymon reverbs sound good? Craig

    Helix DT 25

Thanks Radatats, I'm still suffering from options overload with the Helix so haven't tried incorporating amp settings yet. I'll probably use your method when I do though. Craig
