I ran a pair of sends to the Timeline, then a pair out into the BigSky then back out to the Helix returns. I get stereo with only one pair of loops that way and I can use midi to bypass them if required.
-
Just to operate their bypass's at the moment, I'll use patch changes and possibly controller messages on them when I decide what patches I want.

I finally finished putting the Helix and my pedals on a board, I think it looks pretty cool. Craig

I saw the Stones live a couple of weeks ago and the guitars sounded great, all they had on stage was a pair of Fender combo's each but who's to say what was been worked on for them behind the scenes. Craig

I just measured the impedence of a send at 10K ohms the same as the 1/4" output jack. One thing to consider though is the input pad, if you are using a send set to instrument level you may need to turn it up a bit to compensate for the pad (I seem to remember 5.5db being mentioned as the value of the pad) Myself I have the loop set to line level to save on using two loops (an instrument level send and a line level return) and have the output level set to -8.6dB. This gives a unity gain between guitar and amp with the pad on and all pre effects off. Hope this helps Craig

As we know, if you touch a footswitch it takes you to the parameters for the block that it's controlling but if you touch the Tap Tempo switch it takes you to midi clock and tempo settings, the trouble is that it only stays on that screen for two seconds. can anybody else see this? Craig

I think your own tagline fits well here Spikey :D
-
Thanks pbatts, I knew there had to be an easy way somehow. Craig
-
Well I know assigning footswitches is incredibly easy but how do you unassign a block from a footswitch? I couldn't figure out how to do it. Craig
-
Do you think they'll do one of those for Gilmour too? :-) Craig
-
I'd not considered a Möbius too, early retirement is possibly on the cards for me so I'm trying to get all my toys together beforehand! Craig

And here's me thinking that I'd done you all a favour by tempting Murphy's law :-)

So I've just gone and bought a Strymon Bigsky and Timeline. If the next update arrives after the return period is up and contains new reverbs and delays then please don't tell my wife! Craig

So I've been having a play with this. The CV out goes from 0-5V when set to a max CV of 100% and a max of 60% gives 3V as required by the H9. I just connected a trs cable between the CV out and expression in on a Strymon pedal and it worked straight away. Craig
-
I made my own too, I just bought a length of Van Damme cable and some Neutrik plugs and used heatshrink sleeving every foot or so to keep it all together. 4CM, amp switching, and midi all in one. Craig
-
I'm looking for a strat too, I found the neck on American pro's a bit chunky and much preferred the Elite neck. Of course that's just my opinion so not really relevant to your taste :-) Craig
-
I know where you are coming from but from page 25 of the H9 user guide "Note: The Expression Pedal input supports control voltage inputs from 0V to 3V" It looks like you'd need a ts to trs cable though not trs-trs as I stated earlier. Craig
-
Yes the H9 might be expecting to see a pot but it's highly likely that it's using it as a potential divider and so the result is exactly the same as a 5V CV signal. I know that Strymons work this way. Craig

My Alto TS112 monitor makes noise when Helix is powered off
CraigGT replied to Rocco_Crocco's topic in Helix
Don't forget that the golden rule is that you turn your amp/speakers on last and turn them off first :-) Craig -
Have you made the changes that myself and theDaveDaveDave said earlier about using two seperate send/returns to get the levels right?
-
I don't know any detail about the H9 but expression pedal jacks are usually 5v tip and ground sleeve and so the pedal delivers between 0 and 5v on the ring. Try a straight trs cable between the two and see what happens. I can't imagine it doing any damage. Craig
-
Just how many Strymons do you have Spikey? :-) Craig

Just a thought, if you're relying on a monitor for feedback instead of a cab behind you would you need to invert it's phase? Pretty much the same as using a phase switch on an acoustic to avoid feedback. Craig

The desired effect being Helix modelling a smoke machine :-) Craig
