  1. The idea of 6 snapshots on the HX Effects really appeals to me. Your suggestion seems to make sense, 6 snapshots would be more important than a Global Bypass (to me).
  2. Just suggest this for HX Effects... I hope it makes sense. What I would like is that, after selecting a preset, it would automatically go to Snapshot mode: https://line6.ideascale.com/c/idea/1042207
  3. I have a HX Effects... I think that only work on Helix right?
  4. So.... I'm amazed! I started on Saturday and I almost have the HX Effects ready to gig - it took me WEEKS on the G-System to achieve this level! It's so easy to configure snapshots, copy blocks, etc etc. I connected in 4 CM and the sound is clear - such clarity I never experienced on my G-System (3 CM), the amp just opened up, it's the sound/tone I remember connected directly to amp! The "Noise Gate" block is amazing - I needed a ISP Decimator G-String to use with my TB and now I can ditched it. The HX Noise Gate doesn't suck tone at all and it just WORKS! Also the Bypass/Controllers for the snapshot works great. A question: one little thing that I would love is - when scrolling thru banks and select a "Preset" I would like to have the "Snapshot" layout automatically loaded. It's not possible right? I have to select the "Preset" and then do Bank UP + Bank DOWN to enter Snapshot mode... Other than this - it's so intuitive. Remember I use TC Electronic stuff for over 15 years! Never used Line 6 and have this unit almost ready in two days just amazes me!! Oh and another thing: I was afraid Delays and Harmonies won't sound as good as TC... it sounds, at least, JUST AS GOOD (I won't say BETTER but at least JUST AS GOOD which for me its amazing and serves my purposes!).
  5. Can't wait to dig in!!! Today I won't be able to but tomorrow I leave work early and will try it out! Thanks for the tips.
  6. Yeah what I thought exactly. I do have an AMT V-1 which is great for this purpose (it also haves FX Loop, which will enable 4 CM I think). Thanks!
  7. Quick question: using an IR, would it be possible to use it on a rehearsal without an amp? Or even at a live gig in case of amp failure? Or do I need a preamp pedal of some sort to pull this? Many thanks!
  8. Just brought home a lonely HX Effects yesterday. Just opened the box but didn't connect anything yet. The size factor together with the fact that I don't need amp simulation, just made me decide for one of these. I have a G-System and oh my god this is much lighter and smaller! :) My first EVER Line6 unit so.... pointers? Start with upgrade to latest firmware should be the first step right? Oh and RTFM, I know.. I know.. :) Can't wait to start using it live. :)
  9. Another Treble Booster model besides the Deranged... maybe something like this (a multi era TB): https://shop.brianmayguitars.co.uk/bmg-electronics/bmg-tb-classic.html

    Can't decide!

Is the above possible? I appreciate any help. Many thanks!!!

    Can't decide!

I have a Custom Classic and it haves a FX Loop :)

    Can't decide!

Thank you all for the replies - I decided I will go for the Helix (LT or Floor remains to be decided)... Question - Using my AC30 at stage could I do the following: Path with AC30 amp + cab simulation going to XLR outs (in stereo) to FOH: Path without the AC30 amp + cab and 4 cable method using my amp. Basically I want a AC30 tone going to FOH without having to mic my amp and having the possibility of adding stereo delays and chorus for a richer sound at front, and using my amp on stage for me (on 4 CM or 3CM) with the delays and chorus going "mono". Is it possible such a thing? Many thanks.

    Can't decide!

So long story short - I use a traditional pedal/amp setup. My amp is a VOX AC30 and its very important to the tone I need to obtain on stage. I also really love having that thump behind me, moving air... I'm changing to a more modern pedalboard and, of course, I ended up seeking Line 6 - long time TC user, with very good results but it always seemed to me that TC units (at least the old ones) suck tone a bit and the sound is not as crystal clear as I hear on the Line 6. Problem: using amp I think the obvious choice would HX Effects but I keep wondering if I should get a Stomp XL or a LT instead - not that I need the amp simulators on stage but always wondered if a little more cash can prove worth it in the future (although I can't see myself playing without an amp on stage...). Many thanks!!!
  14. OH YEAH!!!!!! Great pic and... my god... that guitar!!! Thanks for the picture.
  15. Yeah always play this way :) Thanks for the reply!
  16. Yes, first block. I did this precisely to maintain the direct interaction between guitar and TB. Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated. Yes I did - and it sure gave me some ideas, but usually those patches have 3 snapshots for "Clean", "Crunch", "Lead". What I want/need is a single patch that let me obtain those 3 gain stages using the guitar volume, as per real amp/real TB. Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated. Great. Thanks for the advice. I will try - It would sure be nice to ditch the heavy AC30 and just tour with LT without the need for external pedals.
  17. I wonder if you guys can help me out - I'm looking for the basic AC30 + Treble Booster tone (as used by Brian May) to serve as basis to all my presets. I tried the Deranged Master + AC30 Normal (w/ 212 Blue cab) as per Brian's setup but the results are far from satisfactory. I found online patches but with different snapshots for "type of sound" as Clean / Crunch / Lead but the way a TB works is by interacting with the guitar volume knob. In a real physical environment with a TB and a Vox AC30 I can go from clean to crunch to lead just by turning the guitar volume knob. Is it a replicable behavior in the Helix? Using a LT. Many thanks in advance.
  18. Wow now THIS IS costumer service! Well done Line 6!
  19. Sorry - talking about the HX Effects.
  20. Imagine I'm in Snapshot mode in a preset - and, in a song, I use 3 snapshots from that preset. If I want to go to the next preset I would need to press BANK DOWN and BANK UP at the same time to get back to preset mode, select the "new" preset and then BANK DOWN and BANK UP again to get back to snapshot mode to that "new" preset? My favorite scenario would be snapshot MODE always on - to avoid the gap changing thru presets. I read the manual on this issue but its still not clear to me. Many thanks in advance. EDIT: the unit is an HX Effects.
  21. I had the exact same problem with my G-System. My Treble Booster sound sucks on G-System input or in the loops (tone suck and thin sound). So I currently connect the following way: Guitar -> Treble Booster -> Amp Input G-System Input -> Amp FX Send G-System L Output -> Amp FX Return This way the TB sounds as it should and I have the rest of the effects on the amp FX loop. I think this is known as the "old way of connection", before units allow for a proper 4CM connection.
  22. True @cruisinon2 and @codamedia!! After all I have a G-System since 2011/2012 and used it non stop all this years. It's damn heavy and outdated and the modulations suck the tone a little bit yes but still works! :)
  23. Still related: having second thoughts in buying a effect unit now... I wonder if 2022 would bring any hardware update (a Helix "2") or something like that. Hate to buy something now if in a few months a new hardware pops up... I guess this is the story of everything (well maybe except guitars!) but still...
  24. Awesome! It's also a great backup in case the amp fails during a soundcheck or gig ;) And many thanks again @zappazapper!!
  25. One more question if anyone can help me? @zappazapper sorry for bothering again... How can I setup the presets in order to have a path with amp + cab for playing direct to mixer and another path with just the effects to play thru the amp? For instance, I have Chorus + Reverb. On rehearsals I want that patch to go thru a amp + cab sim for mixer, but when playing live I want just the Chorus + Reverb as I'm using a physical amp. Is it possible within the same patch to have both? Does the outputs need to be different? I'm new to this concept so sorry of this is a noob question... How does the paths work?
