  1. Thank you all for the replies. I was searching for some videos and this came up: But I think this method needs the delays, reverbs, mods, etc to be duplicated on the Path 1 B...
  2. Thanks for your reply. Yes it's an Helix LT. I already knew I could do it that way (sorry for not being clear on my first post - my fault) but I was wondering if I can use the same effect blocks instead of having to duplicate them on path 2.
  3. I'm guessing this is possible on the Helix but I wonder if you guys can guide me: I want to use my amp on stage with 4 CM - I make the usual 4 CM connections and there's a FX Loop block (I started with one of the 4 CM templates). Works great. I wonder how can I do the following: No Helix amp on the 4 CM connection (I want to use my physical amp); Same signal path/blocks BUT with an added Helix amp+cab thru the XLR outs only so it can be connected directly to mixer. Possible and how to do it?
  4. I only notice that "pop" when I tried the "True Preset Spillover" and change presets. They do change immediately (no gap) but I hear a "pop" between them.
  5. I think that, the other day, by accident, I got a message "do you want to swap snapshots 1 and 2?"... not sure but I think so, and that was by pressing two switches or by touching a switch (the touch-sensitive capability)... I'm not sure because I didn't want to do it and discarded immediately, but I think that was the message...
  6. Probably yes but its quite an audible difference in tone and dynamics.
  7. Thank you all for the replies... I will test it and sure post the results, once I get a wireless system.
  8. Please check out my previous post: https://line6.com/support/topic/65948-moving-to-helix-lt-first-thoughts-coming-from-hx-effects/ This is just for using it from about a week. I can get a much cleaner sound and headroom with the LT. The input/output meters, the Input Gate, the ease of in-unit programming... like you I though the LT was just an oversized HX FX with amp+cab blocks added... I was totally wrong. The LT is a totally different unit... the HX FX is good for what it is but my advice is (having the money and the need) just buy the LT. I can advice this even for just effects. I always struggled (and still do) to get a great sound from the HX FX, on the LT it was easy to dial in. Of course - my personal experience, take this advice as it is :)
  9. For years I have something that prevents me going wireless... I use a Treble Booster right after the guitar and it doesn't take wireless signal (buffered signal) well - the sound becomes thin and harsh. This is a common behaviour for Treble Boosters. Now... do you think that using the Deranged Master on the Helix could solve this issue? Or do you reckon the behaviour will be same? And last... if someone with a wireless system and a Helix could test for me if the tone maintains the same whether is connected by cable or using wireless... Many thanks in advance!
  10. From a user that recently shifted from a HX FX to a Helix LT, I recommend the LT. The HX is nowhere near the LT capabilities/ease of use/tone, from my personal experience.
  11. I just registered a new unit the past week... no issues! I also asked for the Total Recording Bundle licenses they are offering and they registered them same day. Is your LT new?
  12. Replying to 1 - I think there's a Global Setting "Stomp Select" which has the default "Touch". Have you tried setting it to "Press"?
  13. I have the exact same feeling and I A/B them both extensively with the same blocks. The LT has more clarity and headroom, there's no doubt based on my personal experience. The LT sounds wonderful, even the pitch shift I always struggled on the HX Effects.
  14. I can start this topic by saying - if anyone is in doubt of going Helix (LT or Floor) coming from HX Effects - don't think about it. DO IT! I was having the same doubts a couple of weeks ago - I pulled the trigger on a LT and couldn't be happier so far. First thoughts: I started by upgrading both units to 3.5 - flawless upgrade, factory restore as recommended; The LT is a completely different device - not even in the same league as the HX. I now feel I have a totally "professional" unit, the HX Effects has its merits but the feel it's not the same; I A/B them with the same amp, same signal path and the sound is much cleaner and with more headroom on the LT; The LT input gate works very well and better than the "Noise Gate" block I had to put on the HX; I connected a second guitar on the Return 1 (to avoid having a guitar switcher) and don't notice any difference in sound comparing to the guitar input; The programming on the unit itself its soooooooo easy: for the first time I didn't even have to use the HX Edit - on the HX Effects its much more cluttered and difficult to program. I could go on in other stuff... the fact we don't need a bulky AC adapter, etc etc. The points above - when I bough the LT I thought "well, I'm getting an oversized HX Effects with the amp+cab blocks but not much more than that". I was totally wrong: the LT is a totally different unit and totally worth the upgrade. If, like me, you're in the same boat (debating HX Effects vs LT) and have the money, just do it. Even the form factor: with the HX Effects I have a couple more pedals on a pedalboard (guitar switcher, amp emulator, wha pedal) and it's roughly the same size as the LT and almost as heavy. Now I don't need any of the above pedals, so I don't even can put the form factor as an advantage to keep the HX Effects. Of course if you just use the HX Effects itself - the LT is considerably larger and heavier. Just my two cents (quick note - this is not a "HX Effects" bashing topic. As I said it haves it merits and the sound is good for what it is. I just posted this to help other that might have been struggling with the "upgrade or not" decision. But, for what it is, the HX Effects is an excellent unit).
  15. I just bough a Helix LT to replace my HX Effects. In the HX Effects one of the patches with a "Simple Delay" block cause some unpleasant digital distortion even on clean settings. Actually I've been using "Simple Delay" for my delay needs - and I wonder if the Delay is the culprit or something else. I use an external OD pedal and there's no DS/OD blocks on the path. It only happens (or I only notice!) on patches with the "Simple Delay" on. I read something about Vintage Delay causing this... I wonder if Simple Delay suffers from the same issue. This to prevent doing the same thing on the LT.
  16. One thing I would LOVE (and that's been already requested many times) is a Android/iOS HX Edit... even if a OTG cable was needed. On the road it will be great to edit things thru HX Edit using just the phone.
  17. I actually was offered a license of Native by Line6, they have this offer: https://line6.com/total-guitar-recording-bundle/ Thanks for the advice :)
  18. So I did it!!! I bought a Helix LT and can't wait for it to arrive. A question: if I backup my HX Effects, can I load the backup in HX Edit connected to the LT so I can recover the patches? It will save some time for making them from scratch again :)
  19. Quick question: can I plug two electric guitars on the LT? Main and backup, played only one at the time, I only change to backup if something happens to main guitar.
  20. I sell my HX Effects and go for the Helix LT. Besides the obvious amp+cabs added value, is it "worth" the upgrade? I really like the HX form factor and I suspect I will gain zero value in effects, but I will have more snapshots (really important to me) and a expression pedal, all integrated. The LT is bigger and heavier though. To give you some context: I play in a Queen and also a Pink Floyd tribute band. I use same pedalboard for both but, for Queen, I have a dedicated "Vox AC30 + Treble Booster" pedal (a V-Stack BHM) which is a truly wonderful pedal - it allows me for that Vox tone at full with a TB, crucial for BM Tone. I also have: - A Wha Wha pedal - a Guitar Switcher For Pink Floyd I usually use the HX integrated od/ds (Rat, Coloursound, Big Muff...) and it works nicely. My idea, if going for the LT, is to just use the LT meaning ditching the V-Stack, the Wha pedal and the Guitar Switcher (can I plug two electric guitars on the LT? Main and backup, played only one at the time, I only change to backup if something happens to main guitar). Is it a nice move? I mean - If I buy the LT and still have to keep the V-Stack + Guitar Switcher maybe it's not worth it. I also couldn't find any video on the new 3.50 update regarding "Brian May tone". Many thanks in advance!
  21. I've had the exact same problem with my HX Effects. I solved it by putting a Gain block at the start of the chain with +5db.
  22. I use the Strobe mode on my HX FX and don't have any issues. Works very well.
  23. If you're thinking about the form factor - yeah the HX Effects is great. I gig with one because I only use real amps. If you already have a LT, I don't see the need (unless, as I said, you want some small and lighter!). LT also haves the EXP pedal - HX don't. If you want Wha and/or Volume control you need to add one.
  24. Sorry to hear that - never happened to me but I'm always afraid of that. How did you coped with that thru the show? Did you have a backup unit of some sort?
  25. Great advice! Many thanks again for all the replies!
