  1. Dear PodGo users, V2.0 introduced new cabs and mics. Since then I have a big problem with the Ribbon sims. With the exception of 1 model all ribbon mics offer a much lower volume than the rest. So I analyzed all the new mics with my DAW to verify the facts. Result: Only 160 Ribbon offers a approximately volume comparable to the other new mic sims if I raise its level. The rest of the Ribbon mics are unusual for me because of them missing sufficient volume. Please see the results attached if you like. Do you have any ideas or suggestions how to solve this problem? Do you experience this problem, too? Is it a firmware bug? Does perhaps my PodGo have an issue? Thanks for your help in advance.
  2. Hello erhold, I don't speak French and translated your topic into English. Where did you connect your Pod Express? If you connected it to a USB Hub try to connect directly to your PC.
  3. Hi PodGo players, I updated to V2.01 fixing just 1 bug: „Audio could ramp up upon preset load“. Don’t know exactly what that means. Anyway. I expected a short update process because it was just 1 bug fix. But the update process lasted surprisingly long – felt like 5 Minutes or so. After turning on my PodGo I was very astonished about the different sound my ears heard. Much fuller and more differentiated. Suddently distortion pedals sounded good with amps which didn’t before. I am very happy with the sound improvement coming with 2.01. Did my ears play a trick? Did anyone else make the same experience? Thanks to L6 if the sound improvement was intentional!
  4. The first time since V 1.20: Horror Update to Version 2.0. My queasy feeling didn't deceive me: the update was a gauntlet. First of all, the connection between my PC and PodGo was constantly broken, so I had to start all over again. After a few failed attempts, the editor was finally updated. But now the creation of the backup constantly stopped at the same position. It was only after I changed the USB port on the PC that the backup was able to go through. I had to do that never before in the past. Anyway. To update the PodGo itself, I had to log into my account. This only worked after umpsteen attempts. Then, during the hardware update, the connection to the L6 server kept dropping. I sweated blood and water so that nothing was corrupted on my PodGo. After about 3/4 of an hour (!) the drama was finally over and I succeded to update to V 2.0. One thing you have to give L6 credit for: despite these problems and the constant interruptions, my PodGo seems to be running stable fort he moment. Thank goodness a happy ending. Phuu. I.e.: presumably... L6-Server-Problems? PodGo Edit bugs? Don't know. See screen shots of the error messages attached.

Hi, L6 says Version 1.97.0.2 is compatible with Win11 - see L6 download page. Do you have this version installed?
  6. PodGo can work with any wav files without problems. L6 modifies IR files to especially work with Helix or PodGo eg. These modified files have a specific file extension like hir. Standard wav-IR files can be used with most of the MFX units. These special L6 hir-files can only be used within the L6 family. You can buy Celestion wav files directly from celestionplus.com eg.
  7. Can you hear a sound if you plug ear phones into the PodGo?
  8. You can contact Thomann's customer support via Email: kundenservice@thomann.de. They answer in English and might be able to help you solve your problem. Good luck!
  9. The PodGo requires 9V 2,5 A MIN. If I take 2,5 A serious I know 2 power supplies with this feature: Thomann Power Supply Uni 5-15V DC 3A 19,90 € Thomann Power Supply 5-15V DC 3A Uni 29 € MyVolts offered a suitable power supply before but actually I cannot find it again. Thomann also offers some 2 A power cords but they would not be my first choice. This would depend on an attempt.
  10. Sorry: forgot to mention that PodGo can add post effects, too. Like Delay, Reverb Modulation.
  11. I think the Champion has some kind of a FX loop: Pre Out: sends the Champion‘s preamp singal to an external device tob e processed. PWR In: sends a received external signal into the amp’s power amp stage If I am right you have 2 options: Sending the Champions preamp singal into the PodGo via Pre Out. PodGo adds pre effects like wah, compressor, distortion. In this case you have to deactivate the PodGo’s amp. + cabs. Because you already use the Champions preamp section and cab. Now the PodGo sends the processed preamp signal back to your Champion via Pwr In. The Champion makes it loud with the power amp section. This is called the 4 Cable method. Replacing your Champion’s preamp by the PodGo. In this case PodGo makes the sound and your Champion will only make it loud. I don’t know your amp but you could try connecting the PodGo’s Output to the PWR In slot. If this works PodGo will be the preamp (sound) and your Champion 100 will be the power amp (makes it loud). This might be what you mean with the 2 cable method. Hope this works.
  12. Product info on L6 website concerning Pod Go Edit 1.40: „18 additional effects—most from the FX Junkie model pack for POD Farm 2.5—have been added. Don't sleep on these!“ Pod Farm 2.5 was released in 2015. Surprising that old Pod Farm sounds can be loaded into a Pod Go. Hopefully we’ll get more hot Pod Farm sounds in a future Pod Go version.
  13. Look at the download page https://de.line6.com/software/index.html. At the top of the page you can only select Mac or Windows. You may ask the support team if there will ever be a Chrome OS version and when it may be.
  14. In Europe manufacturers are required to provide updates for digital goods. European consumers even have a warranty claim to ensure that issues will be solved. If I buy a product I want it to work perfectly. I do have a right to this, absolutely. I do not have to be gracious for getting bugs fixed. It’s my right. I do NOT have a right to upgrading the content (new amp models, FX etc). That’s what I should have been thankful for because it’s a cream topping. And I am thankful for that, believe me. Though it’s a question of being competivie in the market for L6, too. So if I buy a Pod Go knowing that the signal chain is rigidly determinated I knew what I get. I can ask for a better solution and hope that L6 will listen. I am disappointed because L6 does not listen to this big wish of many Pod Go customers. L6 rigidly holds on to its software design. Who of us combined all the amp models, cabs + IRs and FX oft he Pod Go to find the perfect sound? There are so many possible combinations that it will take half a lifetime to try them all out. Less is somtimes more. Assuming all bugs are fixed with 1.40: what will bring the future? 3 more amp models added to the 80+ models already included? 10 more FX tot he 200+ already included? Or a new hardware successor with sufficient DSP to provide a flexible signal chain? I still have to upgrade to 1.40. I’m in no hurry because I already have found my sounds for the band. Ok, 1 new amp model to try out and two dozends of new FX. Nice to have but not essentially needed.
  15. Ok: update 1.40. New: 1 amp + little more than 2 hands full of effects (mostly Line 6 Originals). Pod Go: 3 issues fixed Pod Go Wireless: 1 issue ficed Pod Go Edit: 3 issues fixed. Some minor fixes and improvements (whaterver they are). But: still the same restrictions regarding flexibility of the signal chain. Loveless update just to release one? Am I happy whith 1.40? No, I am not. I am disappointed, to be honest.
  16. Yes, same with me. Of course, tone, features and handling are very important. But if problems arise I depend on a helpful customer care and support. And there is no software without bugs, so frequent updates are very important for a software based product. AFAIK Line 6 is the only company offering this complete package. And if the price/performance-ratio is right nothing can top this offer. This was decisive for me to buy a Pod Go.
  17. Same with me: I set ExpPedal 1 +2 to "Preset" (firmware version 1.30 and WIN10). In each saved preset I have set min vol to 70 (for backings) and max to 100 (for solos). But after powering up my PodGo volume always starts at 100%. The min vol 70 is not recognized by my PodGo neither. Obviously 1.30 only reads max vol. After switching my PodGo on I have to move the exp pedal once. After that PodGo starts with min vol saved in each preset. I really would prefer starting with min vol, too.
  18. If you visit Lincoln Brewster’s website and select„ POD Patches“ you will read: „To use Lincoln's POD Patch Library you will need a Line6 product compatible with a PODX3 or PODxt Live tone library. (PODxt, PODxt Live, PODxt PRO, POD X3, etc.).“ So you have to recreate his tone with your POD Go. Google „lincoln brewster pod go“ and you’ll get some YouTubes where guitarists try to do that. Maybe you’ll get inspired.
  19. You could buy PodFarm 2.5 wich you can use with any audio interface. PF2.5 is no longer necessarily connected with an UX audio interface. If I'm right L6 does no longer offer UX audio interfaces. But take into consideration that PodFarm will only be available in VST2 format. So you need a DAW which supports VST2 plugins even in the future. If you prefer a VST3 plugin from Line6 you could buy eg Helix Native.
  20. PodGo converts IR files to its internal format. Imported IRs have to be mono (see manual). I bought IRs from the L6 store in PodGo's hir format - but I can use hir files only in the PodGo as far as I know. If you want to use IRs in other devices or in a DAW you need wav files. Valhallir eg recommends 24 Bit – 48 KHz – 170 ms lenght suitable for PodGo. I use bought IRs with these parameters in my PodGo. I don’t know if PodGo automatically converts all the other formats and lengths for inernal use, too. That would depend on a try.
  21. Any sound is a matter of taste. And a matter of speaker frequencies. Difficult to suggest. What sounds good with my rig can sound less good with yours. For the start: here are some „analog“ tipps which might be an inspiration for your search: https://www.guitarworld.com/gear/how-get-true-country-guitar-sound. I would check out the Fender models trying out all the cab sims. Depending on your guitar's sound you can check them out. A lot of work I know but I had good results this way. I personally like and play the Archetype Clean (PRS Archon Clean Channel) which sounds really good with my PRS guitar. And a slight Minotaur distortion. I use the amp sim with a Divided By 13 cab IR from Vallahir. I bought a wav-file package directly from them - among other things including 62 RAW IRs which I all tried out. Yes,I did. Valhallir calls this package "V2 Rocky".
  22. Thanks for your advice. I use Cubase for la lot of years and it has all I need for a good sounding mixdown. I have 275 DAW active projects at the moment. Do you suggest to remake them all? Just to keep going with a software wich will soon be outdated regarding VST3? It’s the decision of L6 to devalue PodFarm to a stand alone app in the VST3 future.
  23. Dear silverhead thanks for your input, very appreciated. VST2 was introduced in 1999. PodFarm 2.5 was introduced in 2011 if I am right. The last improvement happened in 2015 (!). VST3 exists since 2008. L6 decided not to upgrade PodFarm to VST3. So we have to face the fact that PodFarm 2.5 will soon be outdated. Riding a dead horse doesn’t make sense to me. The better beats the good.
  24. Steinberg has announced to disontinue VST2 support by the end of 2023: VST 2 Discontinued – Steinberg Support POD Farm 2.5 is VST2 and will then no longer be compatible with Cubase. L6 support told me that there will be no VST3 version of PodFarm 2.5 in the future. So what is left to do for me as a Pod Farm 2.5 user? Forced to buy buy the expensive Helix plugin? Hope for a less expensive Pod Go plugin? Look for alternatives in the plugin market? The future will show what L6 will do for its Pod Farm users.
