I was using a Boss FS-5U to trigger play/stop on my VS2480 (its a hardware DAW) and Boss FS-6 to switch up and down presets on my Eventide Eclipse. I want my Helix to do both jobs. Which outputs on the Helix are best suited for these tasks? The Roland and Eventide are already set up correctly. I just don't know how to set up the Helix. Can someone help, please?

Thanks. I put down a deposit on the DXR8. I only play in a small room, about 3.5 by 4.5m. I thought a PA speaker would be just the same as a power amp and speakers. Am I mistaken? In terms of placement, is the DXR8 best used like a wedge or sat on one of those PA Speaker stands? I don't have much space in here.

I used to own a Jackson DK2S, which had a sustainer pickup in the neck position. I would love to get that effect back without having to buy a sustainer fitted guitar again.

Excuse the resurrection. If I were to briefly switch on phantom power of a mic preamp whilst the Helix (floorboard) XLR outputs are already connected to it, would there still be damage? Is the end result a dead output, a dead Helix, or permanent poor sound quality, even after phantom power was turned off?

I would really like to see an extra parameter for the SPDIF IN so it can be made to act like a word clock input on the Helix Floor. Likewise, I believe the AES OUT needs a timing fix, as I occasionally lose clock on the recipient device. I would also like to see Guitar to MIDI/USB added, so that Helix can be used like a MIDI keyboard for a soft synth. An FX block modeled after the Morpheus Droptune would be very welcome too.

I'm trying to decide which one to go for - the Yamaha DBR10 or DXR8. I've tried both, and the DBR10 sounds as though it has more bass. Other than that, I couldn't really hear any other tonal differences. For those who have experience with these two PA speakers, which would you say is better and why? I would also like some advice as to level settings on both the Helix and the PA speaker to get the best out of them. Thanks in advance.

I've only had my new Helix a couple days. I've updated it to 2.12 and downloaded the 2.11 editor. Any idea when the official (non-beta) version of 2.20 will be out? Would this not also require the editor be updated too?

I have a Gator bag intended to fit a Boss GT-100, and the Helix fits in. I doubt its anywhere near as protective as the bags and cases posted in this thread, but it helps protect it against spills from inconsiderate brats on the bus. If it had to sit on the bus floor, I'd definitely use a hard shell case. Parents with prams are the worst.
