So as long as I put the expression pedal in EXP1 on Control, it can be done? I've only owned a Boss FV500H and 500L, and neither were very accurate with an Eventide Eclipse.

Take it back to the store and ask for a replacement. Then test the replacement before you leave. I bought a Helix Control on Friday, and the LCD no.2 is screwed. It pulses, flashes YELLOW, and distorts n' drags any text on it. Unfortunately, it was the only one in the store (my Helix Rack too), so I have to wait for them to order my replacement.

Riser? Like a car jack for changing tires? Not a bad idea. On the other hand, if you want it desk height, just buy a laptop stand (if it will take the weight LOL).

It just occured to me - when you stomp and hold EDIT on Helix Control, does it automatically use specific EXP input(s) to allow adjusting parameters? On Helix Floor, I can edit using the built in expression pedal. How does this work on Helix Rack + Control + Expression Pedal? And, is the Mission Engineering ("Mission Helix") the only compatible expression pedal, or are there others to choose from?

HELIX USB DRIVER I've already set my Helix Rack clock to Wordclock In, and ran a 75ohm BNC cable from my MOTU 828ES audio interface to the Helix Rack. I install the latest USB driver (1.0.4) on my MacBook Pro (OS X High Sierra 10.13.6). In Digital Performer 9, Master Device is set as 828ES (Thunderbolt), which is fine. However, Clock Mode shown underneath shows Line 6 Helix Rack. If I change that to 828ES (which is what would show if I had not selected both devices as audio interfaces) and save that, going back in shows Clock Mode back on Helix Rack again. I also have a MOTU 8D (another audio interface), which although is connected via AVB to the 828ES (8D clock mode is set to incoming AVB signal from the 828ES). This does not have that auto-takeover effect that the Helix Rack does if I were to connect the 8D via USB and select both MOTU racks as audio interfaces. I would therefore assume the Helix USB driver needs fixing. Without even 1.0.4, Helix Rack's USB audio will only work at 48khz, and I run all my projects at 44.1khz.

I get excited when i hear about a new firmware release. I can only guess based on what Line 6 have said recently, i.e.: the ability to access two Helix units in one HX Edit. I don't really want to say what I'm hoping for, because I'm just setting myself up for a disappointment.

Woohoo! Thanks! I was concerned it might not work because of subtle differences like the Rack has wordclock, which I do use.

If I want to recover a HX Edit backup for Helix Floor in a Helix Rack, will it work? Or do I have to wait until 2.70 is released? Just thought I'd ask before I tried.

Where can I buy one of these t-shirts in the UK/Europe? I don't want to wait 3 weeks+ for one to come all the way from USA, and then get screwed by Parcelfarce/UK Customs, which would make it 3x more expensive than if I were to buy it IN the USA.

Can I download the factory presets for HX Stomp and load them into my Helix Floor or Rack, without having to buy HX Stomp? If HX Edit can access both a Helix Floor/Rack and HX Stomp at the same time, does this mean I would be able to access both a Floor and Rack at the same time?

Ah, thanks. It just occured to me its when I check for firmware updates, I have to sign in, not when I want to access HX Edit. Duh...

I am looking at buying myself a Helix Rack. Presumably, I have to register the product with Line6 before I can use it with HX Edit, no? I can't remember how this works. I ask because I might be able to get a used one. If not, then I will trade in my Boss GT-1000 for a new one (and preferably Helix Control too, now that they are dropping in price). Someone please jog my memory.

I was already aware of this, but only recently became aware Apple have not only soldered the SSD to the mainboard (to stop users upgrading without buying a whole new machine. I drew the same conclusion when they started soldering on the RAM) and ommitted the access port next to the SSD too (no doubt to prevent users from rescuing their data). I guess this is Apple's way of quite simply saying "Because F**K you" like your pet would say after soiling your freshly laid uber expensive carpet. I think even if I were to buy a new Macbook Pro, I would still keep this 2015 13" model as a backup machine and access point for HX Edit, whilst the new one handles my DAW, plugins and any other CPU-heavy stuff.

Is there a pattern to firmware releases for Helix? I'm wondering when to expect version 2.7.0.

I am trying to configure my setup so I can permanently have my Helix connected via USB in order to use HX Edit. I have already tried connecting Helix via USB hub, and that causes loss of communication. Since my external 1TB USB 3.0 SSD is not a standard size, I cannot just put it in a Thunderbolt enclosure or even my Macbook. The alternative is get a USB to Thunderbolt adapter. Does anyone here use their Helix via a USB to Thunderbolt adapter, or tried it? I'm asking because the only adapter I can find is by Startech and costs around £100.

I don't use a Variax. I just went to the downloads page, looking to see if there was a new firmware update for Helix (Floor), and saw this "Workbench HD". Presumably, this is purely for Variax users only?

Having connected a 1/4" mono cable to the Foot Switch jack on the MOTU, the instant I plug the other end into the CV/Exp Out of the Helix, it triggers the SPACE bar to start playback in my DAW. But which command should I use in COMMAND CENTRE of the Helix to trigger that? And does the cable have to be stereo or can it be mono? I didn't want to buy a Boss FS5 or FS6 only to find its already possible with Helix.
