I'm about to upgrade from a Macbook Pro to a Mac Mini. Tis all very well wiping the Macbook's memory. But do I need to wipe the HX Native license too? Can I do that from within my Line6 account? L6 seem to be the only developer I know who don't use iLok.

Have you raised a ticket with Line6 Support? Does it only crash when using a specific preset (factory or user?). Try a complete reset without loading that user preset, and see if the unit crashes again.

Having bought a Rack and Control in October, I upgraded from 1.06 to 2.70. When I ran the updater again, the option to downgrade to an older version disappeared.

Not yet, but they're working on it.

A Helix II? I already have two, thanks.

Anybody know the name of the factory supplied tape you peel off the Helix displays? I figure if I knew this, it might make it easier to find exactly what I'm looking for.

OK, I found the EHX to be a real PITA. No way was I taking that home. I did, however, manage to get Control to react to EXP2 (built in expression pedal) on Helix Floor. Whilst it was unstable in Pedal Edit Mode, I was able to assign EXP1 on Helix Control via Controller Assign/MIDI Learn to control a reverb block's Mix parameter, that is, after I connected a mono cable from CV Out on Helix Floor to Control's EXP1, set EXP2's command on Helix Floor via Command Centre to CV OUT;

Mine arrived this morning (in a hardbacked envelope whih says "Do not bend", and the postie STILL bent it to fit through my letterbox!!), but I was expecting it to be sticky on one side, so I wouldn't need to use any cellotape. I was also hoping it would be 2x/3x as dark, just like the preset name display on Helix Control already is.

Thanks, but its not in the UK. I searched for these on Amazon UK, but it costs £68.48?!

I want to dim the 12 footswitch screens on my Helix Control to look more like the preset LCD. I've already googled this and I live in the UK. Has anyone got any better suggestions (besides wearing sunglasses, I have severe nerve damage). I would prefer something that does not damage the Helix Control. Something like the strips it arrives with from the factory, only darker.

I'm hoping Line 6 will make presets in HX Stomp and Helix Rack/Floor compatible. UPDATE: Looks like its on the cards, according to Line 6 Support. Looking forward to this happening!

I raised a ticket today regarding an error I see in HX Edit when attempting to load an HX STOMP ".hlx" file I downloaded from Customtone into my Helix Rack or Helix Floor. The response I got was that HX EFFECTS files are not compatible. Did Line 6 misinterpret my comments, or are these HX Stomp presets indeed incompatible and nothing can/will be done to make them compatible?

Try restarting your Mac once or twice. I have to fo this every time I update an app, driver, plugin, whatever. Annoying, but I have to do it.

I tried it just now, works fine. I updated to 10.14.0 just yesterday.

I just downloaded a few presets from Customtone, which are for the HX Stomp. Whilst the file does have the ".hlx", HX Edit refused to import it to my Helix Rack, saying it wasn't compatible. I tried the same with my Helix Floor. Same result. So, are the files for HX Stomp and Helix not identical? I tried this import whilst still running OS X 10.13.6 and now 10.14.0. No difference. Whilst I appreciate it was advertised you could "copy" blocks between HX Stomp and Helix hardware, it would appear presets are not directly compatible after all. I had initially assumed they were, on the basis that I can copy entire presets, even backups from one Helix to another without incident. Of course, if I am missing something, please let me know.

Didn't find an Ernie Ball, but I did get to try out a Roland EV-5, but it wasn't much better. Someone suggested an Electro Harmonix Next Step Expression Pedal. No moving parts, all one solid piece. I could imagine myself getting irritated by it hitting the floor everytime I release it. Does anyone here have experience with this particular pedal?

I bought myself a Gator G-MIX 12x24 for transporting my Helix Floor. It has castors (wheels) and a retractable trolley handle.

I just found an old 5-way USB hub (definitely not USB 3.0) and connected both Helix units to that. Sure enough, still working. So, just for kicks, I ran both Helix units and a 1TB SSD (playing movies) through the old hub; my Roland FA06 synth, iLok and Apple Keyboard + mouse through the USB 3.0 hub. For now, everything except the FA06 (now direct into the Macbook) is going through this USB 2.0 hub.

I bought a Line 6 EX1 this week, and its worse than the Boss pedals! I'm happy to use the footswitches in Pedal Edit Mode, but will eventually want an expression pedal plugged into EXP1 for controlling volume swells, etc.

2.54 was just fixes. I was happy when that was released. But hey, I have two Helix's (Heelii - Plural?!), so I want more! And a free Helix Signal t-shirt for spending an extra £1,300 I didn't need to spend ;)

Well, this is a surprise. Having been previously told by Line 6 Support Helix ahould not be connected to a USB hub (I kept getting "no device connected"), I just tried it with a mains -powered USB hub, and the SOB works! Pah! So, with 2.70 supporting two devices and Helix Rack already connected, and running HX Edit, I connect my Helix Floor to the same hub, and a second window of HX Edit pops up. Woohoo! I just tried copying a delay block from one Helix to the other, and it works too. So, as long as the USB hub is powered, it should work. I can run my USB hub without its PSU, but this is where the Helix will NOT like it. Just a heads up for those who don't have enough USB ports for their computer and multiple Helix/HX units.

Because we are spoilt brats, myself definitely included ;)
