My bad. I was thinking of two things at the same time. I first of all would like to get MOTU Digital Performer to respond to MMC PLAY and STOP from Helix. I then wish to send SMPTE from DP9 to my Roland VS recorder. However, since neither my MOTU 8D or 112D have any analog outputs whatsoever (they're digital only), I was thinking of using Helix as an interface to carry the SMPTE signal from DP9 onto the VS recorder. MOTU say their SMPTE-Z plugin inserted on a mono track and routed to an analog output of any connected interface will work. HELIX > MMC via USB > MAC/DP9 > SMPTE-Z > USB > HELIX analog out > VS Recorder SMPTE input. Hope that makes better sense.

Since MIDI over USB is set to ON, MIDI PC Send and Receive are both set to MIDI + USB; I expected the Command set to MMC Play for the designated footswitch would send an MMC command via USB into my DAW. I have already set the DAW to receive sync from the Helix via USB. This means I may have to risk spending £260 on a USB/MIDI interface. My DAW has an SMPTE-Z plugin, allowing me to send an SMPTE signal through an audio interface's analog out. Is Helix compatible with SMPTE?

How much longer is "coming soon"?

Even though my Helix sample rate is set to 44.1k, it forces my two MOTU connected interfaces to jump to 48k, and MOTU Digital Performer DAW complains. Is the Helix' sample rate via USB fixed at 48k? If so, this needs to be fixed.

If it makes anyone feel any better, I've just been told my Seymour Duncan Andromeda DELAY pedal is now expected in 3 weeks. It was released 8th June...

Thanks for the link. I should've mentioned I live in the UK. A local music shop seems to think it wasn't possible.
-
The pins in the connector are not in the same arrangement as those on a conventional MIDI cable. They're two curved rows of 3 pins per row. Its been suggested its actually a 7 pin connection, though I can only see six. The RM100 has proper MIDI connectors, my RT50C doesn't.
-
Looks like its a "no" :-(

The footswitch uses what looks like a six pin MIDI/DIN cable, and has 3 footswitches - channel toggle, reverb on/off and FX loop on/off. The amp doesn't have any 1/4" control jacks. I want to use my Helix to switch channels instead. Is this possible? If so, what adapter do I need?

Since L6 don't use iLok, any idea how I'd backup the Helix Native license if I need to change my SSD of my MacBook or upgrade to a Mac Pro desktop? Additionally, is HN an instrument plugin or an FX plugin I use as an insert FX, or both?

Are we there yet? This is torture!

In the end, I went back to PMT who sold me the Helix and ordered a Gator 12x24. It has a trolley handle and casters/wheels, though I did have to remove those velcro pads to get the Helix to fit and sit flat. I had to do the same when I ordered a Gator case for my Roland VS2480.
-
I wonder how many instances of Helix Native could be used in one DAW session. That could be a LOT of horsepower! If only we knew when in June this will be released... if it is in June (pretty please!). Likewise, I'm hoping it will work with all DAW's, including MOTU's Audio Desk.
-
I just got an an alert to this thread with "good news". jumped straight into the L6 Updater..... Hurry up L6. I'm out of medication until Monday.
-
I only have MOTU Audio Desk as my DAW, which won't take audio from non-MOTU interfaces via USB. Does anyone get this dropout issue when using USB? I'm thinking of getting a different DAW like Logic Pro X. Didn't want to burn funds without a good reason.
-
MOTU AudioDesk will not recognise non-MOTU audio interfaces, so this plugin would really appeal to me. The upgrade price for existing hardware owners is a mere quarter of the full price, so I find it even more appealing.

I really like the new swell effects in 2.20. I also like the Particle Reverb. Until recently, I have used an Eventide Eclipse for ethereal type sounds. Too bad L6 haven't yet reduced the DSP% or fixed the digital instability issue. The sooner they do, the better.
-
Appears I overlooked the mixer control type in the VS2480. Its can be off, C.C. or Excl. Now I just have to figure how I set the Eclipse correctly. Odd, I had to set the VS sync mode to internal rather than external...

I went with the DXR8 because I listened to one connected to a Helix in the store. In such a small room, i'm not going to output 1000w. I will of course try it as a wedge. I'm not sure it would be safe from damage sitting on my amp stand, not without wrapping some kind of padding around the stand's frame to prevent damaging the DXR's connectors or switches.
-
If anyone has the HELIX bag, please post a pic of it with the HELIX inside. I want to know how thick the padding is. If its not at least 1.5 inches thick, I may just go for a case like the rugged waterproof one linked, assuming they're still in production and available in the UK.

I only see this when customising a block footswitch for amps, FX, etc. I've set up FS9 to act as an amp control so I can trigger PGM+ on my Eventide Eclipse via its PEDAL1 jack. This works, but I have to press the FS9 twice to trigger PGM+. Is there another way? I couldn't figure out the MIDI method.
-
Yep, I still run into DSP issues despite the update to 2.20. The reason for the two paths is also because I wanted a clean signal going out AES/SPDIF and a metal tone coming out the XLR's. I've just tried it a different way, whereby I'm just using the XLR's, and panned the output blocks hard left and right.
-
Nope. The rack has the same problem. FS9 is not working properly either. UPDATE: I got my HELIX back, updated to 2.20, didn't make any difference. Store has now offered me a replacement. I sincerely hope this fiasco is over after this.
-
I've set the input of each of the two paths as Guitar, and placed an amp and cab on Path 1A, and set its output to XLR. I've then set the output of Path 2A to Digital. The idea was to send a metal sound to the XLR outputs, and a clean signal to the AES output. Did I do this right, or is there a simpler or more DSP friendlier way, without compromising the signal flow?
