  1. Yes it’s normal because that button is also the Tap Tempo button. It blinks to show the currently defined tempo that affects time-based FX such as delay. When you activate the tuner the blinking stops because the concept of tempo is no longer applicable.
  2. I'm not sure that means much. A Stratocaster with the Vol knob maxed is noticeably quieter than a Les Paul at max. Doesn’t mean the Strat is being attenuated.

  4. You need to assign the desired parameters to the Snapshot controller. To do that, press and turn the parameter knob quickly. You will see white brackets around the parameter value when properly assigned.
  5. Are the strings that have the two notes the same two strings that are detuned? If so it’s likely a perception issue due to physics. What you are hearing is both the detuned note as well as the vibrations of the physical string itself, tuned normally. It’s a common misperception. To verify try using closed headphones or recording a part. In those cases you will not hear the physical string vibration.
  6. If the above procedures don’t work open a support ticket.
  7. Did you begin the update process using HX Edit and follow all instructions? Make sure you perform the recommended factory reset when complete, and then restore your backup file.
  8. No do not reset to factory defaults. And it's not a bug. If the problem is what I suspect you need to open HX Edit and select the Restore from Backup item under the File menu. Select the most recent backup file. Then leave the check mark beside the Global Settings item in the menu. You can deselect the other checked items if you wish.
  9. Just a guess here…. Perhaps it’s something with your Global Settings. Updating firmware restores the Global Settings to their default values. After updating you should use HX Edit to Restore Backup. This will let you restore the Global Settings and other things to their pre-update state. If you haven’t done this you may want to.
  10. I agree. The manual is ambiguous at best in this regard. Please let us know the result of your support ticket.
  11. Don’t know where you got the idea that the HX One includes amp/cab models. It does not. The HX FX is designed specifically for those users who do not want to pay for amp/cab modelling because they never plan to use it. They want to use their physical amp with a wide variety of FX packaged conveniently in a reasonably small portable and flexible device in a traditional pedal board setup. It isn’t an oversight or omission; it’s the main design of the device: no amp/cab models, supporting the traditional pedal board approach.
  12. You can eliminate the dropout by giving up one Path in each preset. You’re dedicating half the DSP capacity of Helix to support this feature. See Global Settings -> Preferences-> Preset Spillover. I use Snapshots to help me go from clean to lead tones. You can have a dual path preset that contains two different amps, and have one on and the other off in different Snapshots.
  13. You may be missing this, also in the manual: NOTE: By default, HX One is configured for stereo or mono operation—connecting cables to both IN or OUT jacks provides stereo, or connecting to only the IN or OUT–L/MONO jacks provides mono….. This statement implies that using both inputs creates stereo operation which defeats the blended-mono L/MONO output. The Note goes on to offer other options.
  14. He means in the world, at least the world of audio devices. These three are the industry standard levels and all audio devices comply at their peril of being avoided because they use non-standard levels. You will also see devices with levels labeled ‘+4 -10db’. These are just other names for Instrument and Line level.
  15. I haven’t tried both but I can make a more general comment that applies to all modellers, not just Helix. There are plenty of these videos around comparing the sound of different physical amps to the Helix sound. It seems clear to me, at least, that there is little if any perceivable difference when it comes to recorded sounds (which the video is), or the sound through an FRFR monitor or PA system. That’s what Helix is designed to do - model a mic’d amp and produce the sound that an audio engineer in a recording studio perceives. The sound difference becomes noticeable when you compare Helix to the so-called ‘amp in a room’. Unless you place your ears at a specific location in front of the cab speaker, as if you were a mic, there is an unavoidable difference due to physics. This can’t be replicated even with FRFR monitors. Some players want Helix to send exactly like their real amp when they are playing in the room. It will never do that, nor is it designed to do that.
  16. Have you looked at other Global Settings, like Display?
  17. Two ways depending on whether or not you want/need to continue to use your Audient audio interface for recording: 1) Remove the Audient from your configuration. Connect your monitors directly to the POD Go outputs. Connect you POD Go via usb to your computer and configure your computer and DAW to use the Pod Go as its audio device. This will give you more flexibility in recording tracks in your DAW, e.g. recording dry and processed tracks independently and simultaneously. It will also allow you to simply play without needing other devices powered on (your computer and the Audient). 2) Connect the POD Go main audio outputs to your Audient inputs and continue with everything else as is. You will only be able to record the POD Go’s main outputs.

    Tech Help

You can use a Send block at any chosen location in the signal chain of your LT preset. Connect the corresponding physical outputs to FOH and your amp respectively and set the Output Levels to match the receiving device.
  19. I think it’s unwise to intentionally use any power supply that delivers a lower-than-specified number of milliamps (assuming that’s what you mean by mah). You’ll be inviting problems using anything else.
  20. See pg. 49 of the HX FX manual. Then learn how to send those midi commands from your specific midi controller.
  21. I know you're a regular participant here and I know your presets are complex. Still these crashes shouldn't be happening. Imho it's either a USB issue with your computer or a bug in Helix/HX Edit. In case it's a bug it could benefit others if you could chase it down with Line 6. Have you opened a support ticket about it?
  22. You could also experiment with the LT volume knob. In Global settings you can assign it to control only one of the 1/4" or XLR outputs. Can't imagine this would affect anything but we're into seemingly inexplicable territory here.
  23. You’re right - there was a hardware issue with input impedance on the early units. I’m not sure when it was fixed in the manufacturing process but Line 6 has acknowledged the issue and is providing a lifetime warranty. I believe the only way to be sure is to contact Line 6 support and ask them about a specific serial number. They will be able to tell you if it was among the affected units, and if so whether or not it has been repaired, and if it is affected and hasn’t been repaired they will arrange for its repair at no cost to you.
  24. It sounds like the X3 Live itself is working fine for you. Loading new patches onto it today may be a different kettle of fish. In order to do that you need a program called Gearbox running on your computer. That, too, is 15 years old. Will it run on your current computer operating system? Can’t say. All you can do is try.
