  1. If I understand correctly you have one or more external drive pedals, an amp with no FX Loop, and you would like to physically cable the HX One along with the Drive pedal(s) before the amp. No problem so far. But I think you then want the HX One to somehow reposition itself before or after the drive pedal without changing the cabling? No can do. I think by Input 1 vs. Input 2 you mean the stereo L/R channels? Irrelevant to your situation. The HX One has no idea that an external drive pedal exists, nor that it is in front of an amp. It simply takes the input signal appearing at its Input jacks (both Land R with no distinction if both inputs connected), applies the selected FX, and sends the processed signal to its Output jacks, again both L and R (summed to Mono if only L is used). You will need to change the cabling to do what you want.
  2. I don't think things would be better with Focusrite; the POD Go is quite capable of handling this. Make sure Reaper is configured to use the POD Go and the Line 6 ASIO driver as the audio interface. You could also use Reaper's Master track output volume to help with mixing.

    Pod Go

An IR is a *.wav file. Drag them into the IR slots using POD Go Edit. Then add an IR block to your POD Go preset and assign the desired IR to it.
  4. There are many compressor models available in the POD Go including the LA Studio Compressor. You can download the manual to see the list. Line 6 modeling technology has come a long way since the POD XT. I can’t imagine that you won’t find something that you like at least as much as the XT compressor in the POD Go.
  5. POD Go has the 2204 model. No one here knows if the 2203 will ever be added.
  6. ASIO4ALL is a pseudo-ASIO driver. It is not fully compliant with the ASIO protocol standard. First I’ve heard of a DAW actually refusing to use it (good for them!) but it has been known for years that it causes problems with Line 6 products because they expect to talk to a fully compliant ASIO driver. Avoid it. Use the Line 6 ASIO driver with the POD Express as the audio interface device. See the POD Express manual. It should appear in Cakewalk Preferences - Audio Settings.
  7. I consider them to be equivalent. Some manufacturers call it Drive, some call it Gain. Line 6 models use the manufacturer’s terminology.
  8. Just checking…. Make sure you are running HX Edit v3.70. The new models introduced with firmware v3.70 won’t appear in older versions of HX Edit.

    Sound loss

Not sure I understand. A firmware update replaces your current firmware with new firmware, so in that sense yes you will lose your current firmware. But you’ll have new and improved firmware instead. You won’t lose any presets or settings as long as you have your system backup, which is a mandatory part of the update procedure. The automated update process forces you to create this backup before it installs the update. Optionally you could choose to simply reinstall your current firmware version. That might fix your issue but why not get the latest firmware?
  10. Have you tried manually downloading and installing the latest version of Line 6 Monkey for your OS? There are different versions for MAC (v1.78) and PC (v1.77).
  11. The app is not a DAW a plug-in. It’s a standalone editor program. Assuming you have downloaded and installed the app launch it by double clicking on its icon, like any other PC program.

    Sound loss

That would be best. You can restore selectively from your backup if you wish. In particular the reset will give you the latest factory setlists; you could leave them in place during the restore, at least until you have a chance to back those setlists up individually before overwriting them.

What Helix device are you using? If you are using the MODE switch (e.g. top right on Helix Floor) to navigate between Preset mode and STOMP mode there should be no change in the sound/volume. If there is you could try, in order: a factory reset; reinstalling the firmware; opening a support ticket. Make sure you create a system backup first.
  14. Two considerations: - sometimes this happens when connected to your computer via usb. Try disconnecting to test. - sometimes there is an electrical hum due to local wiring in your environment. Try using different electrical outlets, ideally even different circuits, for your POD Go and speaker. Hum eliminator devices are commercially available.
  15. It would help to know what you consider the ‘foreseeable future’ to be. Months? Years? Decades? Eventually, like all electronic equipment, it will fail and there will be no support or replacement parts. Then you will have a regular magnetic pickup guitar for as long as they last. As you note Line 6 no longer manufactures these guitars. Support will continue until Line 6 decides to stop it, and your guess is as good as anyone else’s as to when that will be. The guitars themselves, with their parts, will remain available in the used market for as long as that lasts. Again, your guess is as good as anyone’s. As always when buying used equipment make sure you get some kind of warranty, return/refund policy, or at least a chance to check it out thoroughly before purchasing. Make a list in advance of the key features you want to test. Know in advance how to perform the tests and give yourself time, auxiliary equipment, and a place to test them. Don’t buy it based simply on a visual inspection and a private seller’s word. In short - only you can decide whether the used purchase is worth the price for however long it remains useful to you.
  16. I haven’t tried this but in theory I think the answer is No. Each amp is a mono block and I expect it will sum a stereo input to mono before processing the signal through the amp.
  17. I would open a support ticket. They’re the ones who would know. It might not be the switch itself. Since it’s working for the mags it may be sending the right signals to the modeling electronics. There could be a fault at that point, either hardware or firmware. It might be worth reinstalling the Variax firmware to see if that corrects some corruption. If not the support ticket is your best option.
  18. I suggest you open a support ticket. If the issue is already known you will get a status update on any planned fix. If it’s not known it will get logged as a bug and placed on the fix list.
  19. Did you perhaps change the tempo using the Tap footswitch? The Tap switch can be used during the Preset Select and Save operations so it’s possible you made an errant press at some point. Reread that section of the manual and try again. If it’s still not working then you will at least have eliminated a possibility.
  20. There are two ways: - adjust the volume in your MacBook audio settings. - adjust the USB Trim in the Helix Global Settings > Inputs/ Oitputs
  21. Without getting into details, an impulse response (IR) is a tiny piece of DSP (digital signal processing) that is applied to a digital audio signal to simulate the effect of having that signal routed through a real-world guitar cabinet and microphone combination. In the Heilx world it is used to replace the cab/mic model in a preset.
  22. … and using the device itself, not HX Edit, just push down and simultaneously rotate the parameter knob to assign the parameter to the Snapshot controller.
  23. What computer are you using (Mac/PC? OS version?). It’s likely that you are using old technology (Toneport/Gearbox) with a recent OS that is no longer compatible. Check the Downloads area of this website and see if there’s driver version that is compatible with your OS If not, open a support ticket to see if there’s any way to make them compatible.
  24. You don’t need to connect the MacBook to the Helix Aux input. Rather, connect Helix via USB to your MacBook using a usb adapter if necessary. Then, if it doesn’t happen automatically, assign your Helix as the MacBook’s audio input/output device. You will need to connect your speakers or headphones to the Helix outputs. You will then have high quality audio blending your guitar playing with your MacBook audio output such as Spotify. Balance the levels using your MacBook audio controls.
