  1. Check the Mix parameter on the FX Loop block. Here’s its description from the manual: Blends the FX loop signal vs. the dry signal passed through the FX Loop block. When set to 0%, the path bypasses the FX loop completely. When set to 100%, the entire path is fed through the FX loop, and no dry thru signal is heard. (This means that if you don’t currently have your external gear connected to the Send & Return jacks, you won’t hear any output signal unless you bypass the FX Loop block!)
  2. Yes, somebody knows about it. But they’re Line 6 employees and never announce updates in advance. Anything you hear from anyone here is speculation, including my own speculation that it’s coming in 86 days, or on Oct. 19th at 3:46 PM, whichever comes first. Don’t know what year.
  3. Use your X3 as the audio interface, connected to your computer via usb, and configure Reaper to use it and its ASIO driver as the input/output device. Arm two stereo tracks for recording in Reaper. Specify the Record Input in Reaper to USB 3/4 for one track (Tone 1) and USB5/6 for the other track (Tone 2).
  4. Try updating using HX Edit rather than Line 6 Central.
  5. I’m not a Mac guy but from previous discussions here I believe you may need to set up something called an aggregate device in order to have your Mac recognize different devices for audio input and output.
  6. I don’t see why not. The resulting two tracks should produce identical results to having recorded them simultaneously but separately.
  7. I see this in the description of the Blue Cat product: ”Input and output level meters are also available to monitor the signal that is dispatched to inserted plug-ins, including side chain and aux channels.” is is possible that you need to use the BlueCat controls?
  8. What Line 6 device are you using? Have you tried using Customtone (see top of this page)?
  9. Try leaving the default selection, or choose Win10, in the OS field. Most of the downloads also show an OS compatibility list in their description. Those often include Win11.
  10. That upper right footswitch toggles you between Preset mode, which shows the display you describe, and Stomp mode which provides another display and function set for the footswitches. The switches are numbered 1-6 on top and 7-12 on the bottom. Footswitches 6 and 12 are fixed. Footswitches 1 and 7 are assignable but are best left as Up/Down for ease of navigation. Try assigning your Looper to FS2 and then use FS6 to put you in Stomp mode where you will see and be able to activate the Looper switch. Also, read the section of the manual that describes Preset vs. Stomp mode. Other goodies in there too, like assigning the Up/Down footswitches to navigate among Banks, Presets, or Snapshots. Lots of options in Global Settings too if you’re not yet familiar with them. The manual is your friend. Read it.
  11. Since Yamaha took over Line 6 in 2014, and then with the formation of the Yamaha Guitar Group in 2018, I’ve been waiting and hoping for a next generation Variax to be launched under the YGG brand. Nowhere in sight, at least not yet, but I haven’t given up hope!
  12. I would start by reading the MIDI section in the HX Stomp manual. It lists the specific midi commands that are supported in the Stomp. You will need to configure your controller accordingly.
  13. From the ‘Welcome to the Line 6 Forums!’ pin at the top of this page…… ”… please submit your product ideas at line6.ideascale.com so the community can vote up the best ideas. …”
  14. Have you tried reading the relevant section of the manual?
  15. Yes, HX Edit can do this using a Line 6 proprietary API. What makes you think it uses midi for this?
  16. Nice drive-by shot. Why are you here now after a 9 year absence from posting? Slow day at the office?
  17. The HX One has no software control for the FX Loop. If the hardware (cables) are connected the FX Loop is on and can’t be turned off without disconnecting the cables, However, if your Univibe pedal has an on/off footswitch that allows the signal to passthru while off (most do) I think you can do what you want using the Univibe switch rather than the HX One. But I may misunderstand your intentions.
  18. This could also be an issue with the 5-way selector switch rather than the pickup. There are two sets of pickups on the Variax Standard: the magnetic pickups and the piezo pickups used for the modeling. Have you tested to see if the models recognize the 5-way selector position? If neither the mag nor piezo pickups recognize the 5-way position then it is more likely a switch issue. If the modeling recognizes the position then it is likely a mag pickup wiring issue.
  19. That’s correct. Which means it cannot be done using MIDI. The Helix midi implementation simply does not support that.
  20. If it isn’t documented it doesn’t exist….. Not everything can be done via MIdi. There’s no trick. I think some people may have written a script to extract preset names from a setlist file, which is a JSON file. I’m not aware that anyone has made their script publicly available here.
  21. Basically yes. The Command Center allows you to specify a number of MIDI commands that will be sent to other devices instantly when you load an HX Stomp preset. So the preset select switch is the one that controls things. Additionally, while the preset is active you can specify other commands associated with a footswitch, just like you can assign a footswitch to turn FX a locks in the preset on/off. Read the Command Center section of the HX Stomp manual and come back with specific questions if necessary.
  22. I think the best place to start would be the MIDI section in the manual.
  23. If I understand correctly you need to set up individual presets in your HX stomp and use the Command Centre in the Stomp to define the MIDI commands you want to send to your external equipment when the Stomp preset is selected. Your HX Stomp becomes your system midi controller. Then as you load the individual Stomp presets your external devices will be configured as specified.
  24. It’s already here, called the HX FX!! More than three at a time but FX only - no amp/cab modeling. Designed specifically to integrate into your analog pedalboard.
