Do i need phantom power for to use my Helix? Will it damage it?
gergoretvari posted a topic in Helix
I'm running through my helix lt to my focusrite scarlet solo via XLR and using phantom power, because otherwise the guitar sounds like it's "not enabled". I always used this method for almost a year now. Some guy told me that this will damage my unit. Is this true? Should i be concerned or i'm fine on how i use it?- 4 replies

Hello! I want to use my POD HD500 as an audio interface to record my acoustic guitar using the guitar/aux input. I use USB to connect the POD to the computer. In this case, what would be the most correct way to use it: should I create an empty preset or use it in Bypass (tuner)? Thank you! Regards, Rafael

Hello All, I am trying to figure out how to control the volume of my backing tracks when I am recording guitar through the Helix. Here is my set up: Macbook Pro > USB to Helix 3/4 > XLR outs to Studio Monitors My Helix has two paths--Path A is my guitar patch to Multi Out (which goes to either my Headrush via 1/4 inch or to studio monitors) Path B is 3/4 USB input to XLR out to Monitors ***The Problem #1--I am recording without headphones and the Helix (guitar) is significantly louder and I can't seem to control the volume of the backing track probably because they are both on the same volume from the Helix. Is there a way to do this or should I just get another Audio Interface just for my mac? ***Problem #2 The latency is so bad if I use headphones it's unusable . At 512 the latency is so far behind it's hard to play in time and you cannot adjust the Helix's sample rate below 48000. (At lower sample rates I get the popping and scratching sound so that doesn't work either) Any suggestions on using the Helix with headphones and not getting such bad latency? Thanks for your help!

Hello! I'm trying to use my Line 6 Firehawk FX as an audio interface, but all the recording software are sending me an error. They say me "error to open the I/O dispositive". I have the latest driver's and version's update. My question is, I need to do an extra PC configuration? or what is the solution to this problem?

Thereis a annoying buzz that constantly humms when I activate cubase or reason. I noticed it seems to be a common problem with a lot people. maybe its too much for a usb cable to run a preamp and a 8 channel audio interface with compressors. people said balanced cables helped solve the problem but a lot of people were still having the problem regardless. anybody have any solutions to this problem or am i just lollipoped as one person on the forum stated...

I have an old pod xt that recently stopped working. The signal from my guitar was not getting through the pod at some point. Whether before or after dsp, it won't output any sound. That being the case, I was wondering at the MIDI capabilities of the board. I know that one could use a controller(s) to control parameters inside the xt, but could one use the xt itself as a controller for another unit, whether another POD or even a computer-based processor such as Amplitude or Guitar Rig? I know the ins and outs of computer audio, I just need to know if the xt itself has the capability to send MIDI triggers to another unit, whether as to recall various presets or channels, or to turn on/off affects in a separate dsp unit. I had been looking in to MIDI controllers as it was, such as Behringer's FCB1010 and Roland's FC300, but was disappointed to learn that they don't have much ability to turn effects on or off, but only to recall presets. I am hoping that the xt has these capabilities so as to simplify the completion of my current guitar setup. My thanks. J.P.
