  1. Title says it all The HX effects buzzes loudly when the usb is plugged in and goes away as soon as it is unplugged. Which would make editing basically useless once that is available. Anyone else having this problem? Or do i need to open a support ticket?

How To Remove Hum From Hd500

Hi all, just got my HD500 unit. Its was used. Works great but when playing directly through the unit using headphones I can hear a relatively loud hum that is constant. When I touch my effects buttons it goes away and is crystal clear. When I touch the looper or up down buttons on the left it goes away by about half. Of course its more pronounced on tones having heavy distortion effects. Seems to be a ground problem. I've checked and its not the cord, nor my guitar. Its definately the POD. Hum if affected only when i touch the pod. Question is how can I fix this without having to run a ground wire to my toe? Thanks.
  3. Hey! So my spider jam is buzzing harshly without anything plugged in. Anyone come across this problem before??
  4. Hello, My spider IV 30 can't work anymore. When I switch on the Amp there is a big noise like a big bass buzz. All volume potentiometers are useless. I also disconnected the speaker and I got the same issue on my headphones. Any ideas? It can be the power circuits or the Head circuits. Thanks.
  5. I suspect this is a hardware problem but wondered if anyone has had a similar experience before I get onto Line 6. My JTV59 was fine until this morning when it started to produce a constant loud and grating buzz from the magnetic pickup - just when connected via the data cable to an HD500. No issue with modelled sounds over data link. No problem from mags when connected via normal jack. The problem is just with mags over the data link. I've tried changing the cable and reflashing the firmware to kind of reset the electronics but neither made any difference. Any other ideas? Thanks
  6. Thereis a annoying buzz that constantly humms when I activate cubase or reason. I noticed it seems to be a common problem with a lot people. maybe its too much for a usb cable to run a preamp and a 8 channel audio interface with compressors. people said balanced cables helped solve the problem but a lot of people were still having the problem regardless. anybody have any solutions to this problem or am i just lollipoped as one person on the forum stated...

    USB recording issues

When I plug my Amplifi 75 into my pc via USB I get a buzzing sound. There isn't a constant buzz but any time a sound comes through from either the guitar or something played on the PC the sound crackles. I really want to do some recording but this makes it sound horrid. The USB cable works fine with my Toneport UX2 and everything else. Thanks
  8. I have a L3T speaker and am running the following signal chain: electric guitar-->G50-->POD HD500-->L6 Link-->L3T I have experienced INTERMITTENT problems with held notes (such as hitting an open E or open A string and letting it ring out) beginning to distort as they decay. The distortion (on a previously clean note) begins after about 4 seconds and gets progressively nastier as the note fades out. The POD patches I am using are various amps, but even clean notes with HiWatt/deluxe or other non-distortion amp models exhibit this behavior (on an intermittent basis). I have swapped out cables, batteries, changed patches, built new patches from scratch using clean amp settings, plugged a bass and an electric guitar directly into the inputs.... There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason as to when or if the distortion shows up. Anyone have any experience with this or further thoughts. I opened a support ticket with Line6 and was told it could be the fan rattle that was a known issue but this is almost certainly not a rattle. It's a note distortion and it occurs at either low (conversational) or higher volumes. Thanks in advance for any constructive advice.

    4x12 Tune-Up (Buzz/Vibration)

Hey guys, So I've recently picked up the DT50, and one of the 4x12 cabs with the Celestion V30s in it (sounds friggin killer), but lately I've noticed a slight buzz when i'm playing heavier palm muted notes, especially on the decay of the note. I've taken the back off the cabinet and tightened all the screws on the speakers and everything looks fine, but I'm still getting some of that buzz. I think its coming from the center post (that's stapled to the front of the cab, and then the back panel screws into it). I was thinking of maybe putting some poster putty (the blue stuff) around the edges and working it in there, because I'm hesitant to just glue it all up. Do any of you guys have experience with this, or have you done anything else to your 4x12 to get rid of any unwanted sounds? I've done some research, and seen a few forum posts about similar things, but I figured I'd give a shout out to the L6 community. Thanks! -Jason

Strange Fizzy Sound Underlying All Patches

Hey everyone, I've had my POD HD500X for just over a year now, and until now, I've been really happy with it. The problem is, over the last week or so all my clean and distorted, direct/studio AND straight-to-amp patches all have a horrible fizzy sound to them. It sounds like digital clipping, but I've gain-staged all my patches well and set up my inputs and outputs how they're supposed to be. I just updated the latest Firmware as of today (The one that fixed the tuner problem), but there is still no change. Has this happened to anyone else and if so, did you manage to get it fixed? Thanks in advance!
  11. Hey guys, I've had my 500X for quite some time now, and am still having issues. When recording on my MacBook, I get a terrible buzzing noise, almost feedback, in my DAW. Whether it's garageband or Reaper. Here's the first video I did with it, you can hear the noise. I'm recording via USB. My cover of FaceDown The actual song for sound comparison The noise is very distinctive.. Almost uncatchable. But the strange thing is, is when I use my acoustic, it's silk smooth. Just like glass. But with an electric, whether it's my schecter, or Gibson LP, it's got that god awful noise. Honestly, I'm almost thinking about sending it to Line 6 and seeing whether they can fix it or not. Yeah, I made a few mistakes. Lol Thanks guys.
  12. Hello everyone, I am getting a humming or low level buzzing whenever I play. Have used a Les Paul, Strat, and Gretch Electromatic and still get the humming and/or buzzing. Any thoughts? Thanks, Bob.
  13. I'm new to this forum and I hope someone can help. So I'm getting a static/buzz sound when I record with my pod hd pro in GarageBand and Logic. I'm connected via USB and when I physically lay down a guitar track it sounds fine. But when I play the track back there's a static/buzz sound. This happens in both GarageBand and Logic Pro. I've done lots of recording before with the line 6 ux8 and have had no issues with either program. Is there's a problem with my pod? Some help would be much appreciated. Thx
  14. good evening. as in object: could somebody tell surely what's the impedance at POD XT headphones plug? i have a 32 Ohms set and the sound quality is horrible, so I'd need to build an impedance corrector cable and to know precise values to do that. thanx, bye
  15. Good day ! I seem to be having a problem when I play distorted and I have no idea if it's from the pod or my guitar . When I play distorted , I seem to be having a second distortion "behind" the distortion of the amp . It's a bright distortion , not loud but noticeable , and it sounds like when you have a slightly broken speaker that gives a crackling sound at certain frequencies. It's not because of my speakers , I recorded the sound and listened to it through different speakers and headphones . So it's either from the guitar or from the POD . It appeared out of the blue , after the last update but it turned up after a few days ( or I didn't notice it before ) Can anyone give me any advice ? Has anyone ever had this problem ? It's not from the jack input ... I took it out , all the wires are soldered , I cleaned it ... Thank you !

Help For Hd Pro X Buzz Sound

I am glad to have a new HD pro X in the end of this year, it sounds perfectly! However, I observe a problem that when the volume of amp models are set above 50% (my setting around 38% to 53%) or applying some EQ effect processing, there often comes some buzz or Ribbing noise sound. I use digital output (for 0 dB) and set to 96kHz, but the buzz sound are also occurred from the headphone output. Does anybody has this problem? any solution for this? Thank you so much. :)
  17. I have the Spider IV 30 -- the old model, with just four presets. When I change from one preset channel to another, on some channels I get hum/buzz/static, which disappears when I fiddle with the channel volume/drive knobs. Is this just one of those things that everyone experiences or can I adjust something to eliminate/minimize that? I also noticed that the volume differs from preset channel to channel -- goes way up or down as I switch. Any way to standardize the volume so that it remains the same as I change channels?
  18. Help! I just just received My Hd500 today and when i plug it into the usb i get a stupidly loud buzz through my amp
  19. I had an odd issue last weekend with one of my V70 belt-pack systems. I was running three of them plus my new V75 hand-held which I'd just used to update the firmware in all the V70 systems. All in RF1 mode. This particular system had the L6 lav mic attached (I normally use headsets but this particular performer insisted on a tieclip). The system was used on someone else earlier in the show and performed perfectly, but once fitted to this performer, the problem hit. I PFL'ed him just before he went out on stage and all I heard was a loud mains-type hum with some harmonics and a slightly digital quality to it. No wanted audio at all; just this unvarying buzzing. I think the level was lighting up just the bottom segment of the receiver meter. It was far too late at this point to swap anything out but as he projected well, he made it through his act without the mic. As it was a somewhat hectic show followed by a rapid get-out, I didn't have the time to go through any useful troubleshooting to narrow down what the problem might have been; unhelpful I know. I set up the equipment again back at base and couldn't make it misbehave in any way no matter what I did. My best guess was a dodgy connection between mic & belt-pack but no amount of cable flexing and connector wiggling and loosening would produce any issues. The venue was at the bottom of a cliff on the seafront where even mobile phone signals barely made an appearance; with no venue WiFi either, it was the quietest RF environment I've ever worked in. The other systems all worked perfectly throughout; this one was also fine up until that one act. My question therefore (and I know it's a bit of a stab in the dark) has anyone experienced anything like this or can anyone suggest a possible cause?
