Stomp Effect Settings - Am I going mad?

Hi folks.

I might have imagined it but when one switches on an effect, using a stomp switch, I thought that the settings (controls) for that effect became active on the display screen.

At the moment, when I stomp on an effect the controls stay on the effect where the cursor is positioned. Have a changed a setting or did I dream this?

Help much appreciated, as ever!

If you were hitting the switch while you're barefooted, and the capacative touch feature was on, the settings for the block assigned to that switch would pop up on the screen. That's because touching the footswitch (not stomping on it) brings that screen up. Otherwise, no, that screen doesn't become active when you step on the switch.

If you stomp on the switch, it just turns that effect on/off. If you just touch the foot switch with your finger (or toes) it will show the parameters.

And... this is why I edit barefoot now.

And I was just thinking, today, wouldn't it be nice if the stomp I just activated would pop up on the screen so I could just reach down and make a tweak.

Might be doable; the only trick is that each switch can have up to 8 items assigned. Presumably only the item in focus would appear in the inspector when pressed?

I can see where it would depend on one's work flow. And everyone might not want that behavior.

I use Preset/Snap mode. When I was working, today, and I switched to Stomp mode to activate a block, I had to do a double take because I was, somehow, expecting the focus to change to the block I had just activated. It just seemed like that would have been the natural behavior. I would not expect the focus to change if I was de-activating a block.

Just a thought.
