mariaczi
Hi, I have bought JTC-89F 2 months ago. (brand new) I am not sure if it was there before or not as I didn't have too much time to play, but I have realized that E1 string is much quieter than all other strings... I am not sure if I should send it on warranty or it is some way software issue? Global string level setup is all on 0.0 so it is not there. It is present on all presents. Can anyone advise?

Piezo outputs vary...the string volume controls exist so that you can balance out volume discrepancies from string to string. Leaving them all maxed out isn't gonna help...lower the others a bit until you can't hear the difference anymore. Almost all of us have had to do this... you may also notice that some of the models display the problem worse than others (especially the "Spank"), thus using the global string volumes is not necessarily the best way to fix it. You may have to make different adjustments for individual models, then save them to the guitar.
mariaczi
Hi Some adjustments are understandable and it is fine if it is some reasonable level. In my case E1 volume is like 20% of all other strings. To make them match I would need to leave e1 at 0 and bring all others to crazy low level... It looks more like software or piezo issue to me to be honest...
jerseyboy
You may have a failed or damaged E1 piezo? I would try gently tapping on the suspect saddle using something fairly hard (screwdriver tip, allen wrench, etc) with volume cranked up and compare output to the other saddles? Percussive tap can sometimes better help reveal if the pickup is almost completely dead? Doesn't hurt anything to try software adjustments but if that's really out-of-whack probably best to open a support ticket and let the good pros help you track it down? Especially under 2 months new, warranty and all of that...
spikey
If you bought at Sweetwater, they usually have a 2 year "in-house" warranty on what they sell new. Call them if so and see.
brue58ski
I had this exact issue awhile ago. I had to bring the volume of the string up 6dB which was as high as workbench would go. I went ahead and tried to replace the piezo to see if that would solve it. What did I have to lose? It did solve the problem. So piezo outputs do vary a bit. And I would guess that there are no guarantees that the piezo you get would have a high ouptut. So order at your own risk. I did install it myself so it can be done. I wasn't all that difficult. Just go slow and be VERY careful. Really if I can do it, anyone can. I created a support ticket at the Graphtech website and they were very quick to respond. Here's a copy of their response to me. Thank you for the email and interest in Graph Tech. I would be happy to help with your inquiry 1) Yes, the bridge on your JTV 89F is one of our PN-0080-B0 ghost bridges 2) Yes, the saddles on this bridge are of the PN-0080-B6 variety 3) You can purchase the entire saddle (the price would be pro-rated) or simply the inserts themselves. NOTE:(I purchased just an insert. It was $15 and $5 shipping) 4) We don't have printed instructions for this process but I can spell them out very easily. If an order interests you, please provide a complete shipping address and I will generate a sales quote for your evaluation. We accept Visa, MasterCard & PayPal I await your response Best regards!
