What type of Variax is this?

Hiya.

I‘m about to sell my father‘s Line6 Variax guitar. Unfortunately I have no idea what kind of model it is, so it‘s difficult to provide buyers with the sufficient information. The price ranges of Line6 guitars is also very big, so I wouldn‘t want to sell it too cheap either, if it‘s worth more. I don‘t have any guarantee or the invoice, so I don‘t even know the proper name of it. I was hoping you guys could help me out here. Maybe by looking at the pictures I took, you could identify that guitar?

That would be a Variax 700:

• no mag pickups, so pre-JTV
• 3+3 tuners, so not 300/600
• no pick guard, so not 500
• trem, so 700

That's the cream of the first generation Variax guitars. It looks like it was kept in very good condition as well!

Back then line 6 made piece of art... 700 was a remarkably beautiful guitar. Not like jtv and standard that are one of the same...

Very well made those 700 model guitars.  That's a pretty one too.  

 

My only complaint about the MIJ 700 is/was vibrato bridge.  I avoid those type bridges like plague.  

 

In fact it's the only reason I've tolerated Korean 500's.  Perform good fretwork and install decent tuners 500's work for me but nothing like the quality of MIJ 700.
