Schmalle Posted November 3 Share Posted November 3 Connect your Helix MIDI Out via MIDI cable with HXFX MIDI IN. Program Helix to send MIDI PC (Program Change) messages: If you set Global Settings -> MIDI -> MIDI PC Send to MIDI then Helix sends a MIDI PC message with the new preset number each time you change presets. Hi, MIDI minefield? Oh yeah. MIDI was invented by Dave Smith of Sequential Circuits around 1981, and in 1983 I bought a Roland JX3P, one of the first synths to utilise MIDI. After all these years, having used it to communicate with a variety of rack synths, keyboards, drum machines, samplers and computer systems, it can still drive me crazy. Lucky for you the implementation of MIDI in the Helix family of products is very limited. silverhead Posted November 4 Share Posted November 4 Did you copy the preset to the same location (bank/slot) in the other setlist? If not, your HXFX may be responding to a different PC change command, depending on how your preset is configured in the Command Centre. As for MIDI, I only found it 'tricky' in times when we couldn't actually see on a PC screen what we were doing. Since PCs and Editing apps, it's got a helluva lot simpler for me - press a button, press another button a few times, turn a knob, press another button, press 'save' twice, cross your fingers and press whatever switch/button you were trying to program to make things happen... 'damn, which channel am I sending on? Which channel does 'Unit A' receive on? The button pressing required just to check settings... and don't get me started on sysex dumps. Connecting up and dragging a mouse around... heaven. The 000-127/001-128 thing still infuriates me, though. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
