Autoswitch to Stomp Mode After Selecting Preset

I need to automatically switch back to stomp mode after selecting a preset (in preset mode) instead of having to use a switch to manually return to stomp mode.  I'm on an HX Stomp, and looking through the global settings I'm not seeing anything that seems to apply.  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks.

It's the way that stomp mode work. After pressing bank Up/Down , you can select the preset you want (the display will blink until you select one) , Then The HX switch to stomp mode automatically

Order your presets in the order of your show.  Press "mode" and enter your stomp view.  Then as you play the show, keep pressing "up" to play the next song.  You will remain in the stomp view.

Processors with 1000s of preset options like the Helix were meant to allow a preset-per-song approach.  Most bands who play live follow a set list order that they figured out beforehand.

That's how I use the Helix, and many bands who use sounds specific to each song do the same.  If you have fewer presets than the song in your set--no problem!  Just copy the same preset over, rename it to correspond to the name of the song, and reorder it in your set list.  It's so convenient.  You won't even need to have a paper set list with you...

I used to play 24-song sets, and organizing the presets in the set order was a lifesaver.  One button press, and you are in the next song.  And I did exactly what I explained above--some songs had identical sounds, but still the preset was named after each song.

You can even keep one set folder of your "master" presets, and use other folders (aka set lists) where you create copies of the same presets, but name them differently.

What do you think?

On Helix, LT or in 8 switch Stomp Mode on the Floor, that is the default behavior.

Unfortunately, on the HX Stomp, it doesn't work that way, and I don't see any way to force that behavior.

Yeah, I can't see any way to do it either.  It's crazy that this isn't the default behavior as opposed to selecting the preset and then just sitting in preset mode as if you might want to select another one.

Thanks for the other replies but these aren't what I'm interested in here... I just wanted to auto return to stomp mode after selecting a preset.

How would it know that you don't want to go to Snapshot Mode? A Global Setting? Maybe you only want that SOMETIMES? A per preset setting? Per Snapshot?

Thing is, if you hang around here (or any gear forum) long enough you realize that everybody has something they think it's crazy that the device they bought doesn't do by default. Nothing does everything that everybody wants it to do.

That's life! Time to start saving for the gadget that does more of what you want (need?) it to do.

FWIW - my Helix Floor does everything I want/need, and more.

Just sayin'... sounds GREAT too!

I guess I should have said return to the last mode.  Maybe make it work the way the full Helix does?  There is no useful reason for it to stay in preset mode once you select the preset... but yes, I suppose options would be the way to make this work best for more people.  I'm glad your HX is working perfectly for you and you have no complaints but I think there are plenty of legitimate complaints on these forums and tweaking things so that they work better for more people is definitely a better option than just buying a new device.

Unless the next thing you want to do is switch to another preset. Some players don't use snapshots and don't turn FX on/off. They go from one preset to another. The minute Line 6 modified things to your preference there would a chorus of complaints from those who like it the way it is now.

A Global Setting for this would be nice. Have you posted the suggestion in Ideascale, which is the official way to get feature requests to the Line 6 development team?
