I have the Rocktron Banshee 2 (used to have the MXR talkbox). I run it as a S/R block and have it assigned to a footswitch. Basically, whenever a Bon bloody Jovi song is requested, I press the footswitch and stick the pipe in my gob and get playing. Very very easy to use and sounds great! Just make sure you don't drool.

Hi all, I'm using 4CM with the Helix and a JVM410HJS. I understood that to have the Helix volume at 100% was 'unity gain'; however, someone mentioned it should be at about 1 o'clock. I tried it at the gig on Saturday, and it led to me cranking the master volume on the amp the highest it's ever been in order to get the same level of volume from it. Now, I'm wondering - would using the volume dial on the Helix mean that you could, potentially, use it to attenuate the valve amp and push the power tubes at lower volumes...?

Help! I've got a very odd noise coming out of the amp when The Helix is used. Have ensured all other powered pedals are off, tried different cables, different wall sockets, different extension cables etc. Anyone any idea what it is and how to stop it? Using 4cm to the amp. Guitar > Helix Guitar In > Helix SEND1 to JVM in > JVM Fx send to Helix RETURN1 > 1/4in out to JVM FX return Oddly enough, I have a talk box as well and even with the Helix and amp off, that makes the same noise. Also, if I bypass the FX LOOP block on the Helix, the sound is still there, so maybe it's not the FX loop..... If I plug direct into the amp, it's fine (I.e. Guitar -> amp input, no fx loop).

Thanks! Just so I'm clear - the send / return block would be the two separate send1 and return1 blocks, right? Not the output block at the end of the chain? So, I just after the output on the return block itself (assigned to return 1)?

Cheers guys! Loving it so far. However, I've noticed what I think is clipping - especially when hitting the bottom E and A strings. Kind of like a 'quack', sounds like the clipping on the GT100 I used previously. What's the best way to eliminate this? Should I alter the return and send values? Or the path send?

Hi all, Finally picked up a Helix, and loving it so far! I'm using it with a valve amp (JVM410HJS) so just using it for FX and also MIDI changes on the amp. I've also set it in 4CM with the send1 and return 1 being used for this. I've noticed that having the delay, reverb and phaser after the return block - as opposed to in the 'send / return' section - makes them sound a lot better. In fact, adding any FX to the send / return section doesn't have a lot of impact! Is that normal? Just seems that it's not actually in the FX loop of the amp then! And how can I assign wah to EXP1 and Volume to EXP2 and select them? Also, been using Command Center to send a MIDI CC change to my amp - however, I need to send more than one CC change request on a single button press - is this possible? (FYI, it's to change to Master Volume 2, FX Loop on, Gate on and Channel change to OD2 RED. Know I can do it with a preset, but I'd rather find another way!). Thanks all!

Andertons just told me it 'should' be with them on Monday. Probably just going to cancel the pre-order now, TBH - it's changed dates 3 times now so I don't hold any faith!

Spot on. Some might say I'm being spoilt or something, but the fact is - I (we?) were told the 25th September, and now assured the 9th October. Certainly made me think twice about pre-ordering something like this again, and the lack of info from Line 6 and Yamaha really isn't filling me with consumer confidence. I'm actually about 50-50 now as to whether or not it's worth it after all. D'oh!

Yeah, we'll see. I ordered it based on the 25th September date as I need it for a Euro tour later this month. If it's not in Friday think I need to cancel the pre-order and just go back to running a small board... :(

Just received this email from Andertons: "Thank you for your email. The Helix unit you have ordered is due to arrive around 09/10 and we shall contact you once this unit is in store and ready for collection. We shall also contact you if its arrival is delayed at all." Fingers crossed.......

Think it's safe to say the majority of us will not get them until the end of October.... :(

Sounds like we have the exact same thoughts - I love the fact i can setup a preset for an emergency and just plug into the PA if the worst case happens! Now just need for the actual units to bloody arrive.....!

Yeah, same reasons here as well. Already sold the G System. And hopefully L6 will support the Helix a lot more than TC did with the G System....!

Quick question - and probably a dumb one, but hey-ho - how exactly do you set up the outputs and inputs for a 4CM going into the amp's FX loop? I'm guessing it's two 'streams' on the Helix - one that has the guitar in and mono output as 'front of amp' (so things like tuner and wah are there), and a second 'stream' that has the send and return ina nd out going into teh amp FX loop, with all the other stuff in there such as delay and reverb....?

Yeah, I know :) It's not so much the delay that's annoyed me - more that I took the day off to collect it, and when I spoke to them on the 23rd it was all good still. Never mind though - as long as it's here for my gig in the 16th, it's all good!

Just called up Andertons to find out what was going on with my pre-order, and been told that the delivery has been delayed until the 9th October :( So in case any of you guys have a pre-order at Andertons, you won't be getting it for another couple of weeks :( Bit of a waste of a day off....!

Hi all, Please can someone confirm the tuner accuracy? Also, will balanced cables in 4CM to the amp work (and is it recommended)? And finally - the day I get it (the 25th, hopefully!) I have to spend the evening in London, so I'd like to test it out. If I plug my guitar in, can I just use the headphone out to listen to the amp simulators etc. (I'm assuming yes!)? Thanks.

Can anyone chime in on the tuner accuracy please, and also if we using TRS cables for 4CM will affect the tone (even if passed via a hum eliminator that translates TRS to TS)?

Swann Flight are making a Helix-specific hard case. It'll be big enough for just the Helix itself, though.
