  1. That's totally sensible.... unless we're talking FW stuff for existing products. If there are ideas for completely new products, then of course it takes a long time..... making EQ readouts that are functional, or introducing a tool inside the FW to make a product much easier to use (clipping indicator) shouldn't have to take that long.... you shouldn't even need a huge outcrying of necessity. If its doable, do it. If it's not, post that on IdeaScale by saying "Current software or hardware would not support this feature, but it is an idea for future products!".
  2. How did you manage mic'ing it? L/R/C microphones?
  3. I only have second-hand information from someone who supposedly went to Chicago to audition and ended up not even playing what he planned, because he didn't want anyone to rip off his riff after reading the waiver he had to sign. I would only expect lame-ness out of Fred Durts and company.
  4. ha, man, everyone wants the big bottom....boost your Rectifier Pre with the Screamer or Line 6 drive model, XXL or Mesa cab, and mics to taste.
  5. I'm pretty sure once you pump through bluetooth, it doesn't really matter what the source material is...and 24bit is higher than "commercial" resolution as CD's are still only 16 bit.....its a cool idea, but 95% consumer's never notice that their digital music is only capable of being sub-par on any system because A) most people are "passive" listeners, if it isn't off-putting to hear, it sounds good and B) they're listening to it on $10 earbuds, $300 lollipop headphones like Beats (which sound like a poorly mixed club PA, if you ask me) or a car stereo, or some little dock speaker where that extra quality is unnoticed. I think consumer stuff will stay the same or drop in quality, and I doubt that the "Audiophile" stuff will make it mass-market mainstream.
  6. Remember when Limp Bizkit "auditioned" new guitarists and made them sign an agreement that anything played in the audition was the property of the band? IdeaScale!
  7. Another "adjustable input Z" thing probably.....the capability is there, but making you wait a little while for it and presenting it as a "Free Update" makes it seem special.
  8. You don't see the silliness (read idiocy) of responding to a post regarding a post on IdeaScale, but never once answering a single technical question regarding the "flagship" products?
  9. you guys are hilarious.....I've gone the normal channels trying to get some real help on the boards, because the support ticket system is slow (i've had two that never even generated an automated response), sent multiple requests, even posted something on IdeaScale like the second day it existed (funny, I couldn't find it a week after that, and now I get booted from IdeaScale every other time I try and log in, yay technology)....so if dude wants to cry in his keyboard because I said the company he works for needs to try a little harder, I don't care.
  10. Why would I feel sorry for anybody? Show up with a comment that really doesn't help anyone, then get praised for showing up....really, really, really, really, really, really late? If people, especially L6 employees are taking any of this personally, that sounds like a "them" problem. I'm sure this guy knows no-one wants to hold him personally accountable, but since he's obviously more "in-the-know" then any of the "experts" around here, maybe he should take some of the general disdain for customer relations on the official forums to someone who can do something. Sorry if I hurt your internet feelings, L6 employee.
  11. Yes, thank you for pointing out that IdeaScale is a part of your plan, and showing us that the company knows where we are, they just have no real interest in participating in the conversation. sdevino, did you know that the equalizers in the HD series modelers are in % instead of Hz? Have you EVER heard of such a thing?
  12. OMG. A L6 employee! They do exist! Now if they would just start responding with useful information regarding products..... Ah, NVM, I know that's WAAAAY out there!
  13. don't......DI off the headphone output Otherwise, I guess you could put a stereo condenser pair about half-way between the FRFR drivers on either side and put regular SM57/58 in front of the middle speaker... or just don't, since it's not made for that.
  14. Yeah, they tried really, really, really hard to make "Tone Matching" sound like "Profiling" prior to the release.....They must only be investing in marketing these days....
  15. There are lots of good ideas (and lots of BAD ideas) but I doubt anyone is looking at it seriously...all we'd need would be some official confirmation ;)
  16. If they were actually listening to thier user base, they would just have someone combing the forums occasionally, or following trending topics and go from there, because its the exact same stuff people are trying to vote up and down over there. It looked like to me that Line 6 didn't want the user forums chalk full of threads regarding the shortcomings of various products that are on display to show just how little they actually "support" the products after release (I don't just mean FW updates and new stuff, but responses to technical questions, usability issues, etc) so they off-loaded a lot of that traffic to IdeaScale in the hopes that people looking for info on X product wouldn't get immediately whisked to a forum full of complaining users. But, as mentioned all over the place here, if L6 would show up once and a while over here with some useful info, there wouldn't be nearly as much complaining.
  17. If ideascale served a purpose, they would have fixed the EQs and added a true 5150 model.....
  18. my bad, wrong thread...needed coffee, sorry everybody, sorry dude I called dumb, sorry, sorry...
  19. dumbest. response. ever. Its not asking for a new one, its asking for continued support, just like the OS on a PC, or you current iPhone....well, I guess if you're an Apple user you expect OS support to be dropped when the new one comes too, right. Imagine if Windows XP never had any Service Packs....or stopped after 1....
  20. ok guys, you win....I'll go back to wasting my break time learning things ;)
  21. Well, I guess you can turn semantics which ever way fits your need. If someone told me I could have 8 items at a store, but when I got in line they said "Oop, seven and eight need to go back, they're too big" I'd say "fVck you, those weren't the rules"
  22. All it need to do what it says it does is SLIGHTLY higher powered processor....or they could have made the specification correct and put an asterisk in there to clarify...not that lollipoping complicated. Why the hell would a POD HD that can run any of its 8 effects simultaneously cost $2500? where are your numbers on this?
  23. "Up to" me means I should be able to put 8 effects in a chain, and if there isn't clearly a side note to that, then its not accurate. Thanks for your overly long, totally pointless, proved-nothing post. I hope you feel better.
  24. It probably would sync with POD Farm, since the modeling matches up.
  25. words like "Loud", "reinvented", etc....total BS, the thing's not "loud" enough for (or designed for) use outside the home, nor is it a reinvention of anything. Some of use actually use our equipment to play shows and stuff and the hype leading up to this was vague yes, but seemed to suggest something other than a toy for practicing in your living room. I can see the use for this product, but I'll get the Blackstar version minus the bluetooth and the "Tone Matching" (another pile of BS) for half the price if I want something similar to jam at home with. Also, because thier current modeling crushes the X-series modeling in this thing.
