  1. Unless you are using the Preamp models through a real cab... the Preamps aren't modeled through a mic. If you're not using real guitar speakers, then you're approximating what you'd hear through a monitor.....a mic'ed cab..... seems nearly the same to me.......
  2. srsly? I mean, srsly? "Hey friend, can I borrow your iPhone for a few hours and download an app so I can set-up and store 4 PATCHES that I will surely want to change in a few hours, so may I borrow your iPhone/iPad/iTouch for the weekend, I mean?"
  3. Its not about which OS is better or why, though, is it? L6 peed in my cornflakes yesterday with this hunk of lollipop.
  4. STFU about android, this about amplifiers.
  5. no L6 Link, no DI outputs no VDI input, iOS required for real patch creation, underpowered for live performance.....woohoo, L6, you've reinvented the Bose SoundDock by adding modeling that requires another device to control
  6. Why can't a paste a fVckin link in here!?!?! TGP has screen shots of the App. X3 model names. Boo!
  7. saw the UK posts of the new amp...meh....HD amps in StageSource tech....not exactly a reinvention. And I can't post the links from the UK stores that already have it up on this forum...can't link, can't paste....can't be done. Check out sevenstring.org or the thegearpage for pics and specs.
  8. If the HD was doing the processing the AFXII is doing when it reaches DSP failure, no-one would be (seriously) complaining about the POD.....but lets not get into another discussion about marketing semantics....we'll have enough of that tomorrow when the guitar amp gets "reinvented"...... There should be a "buy what you want/need" option for all these types of devices, but I can wish in one hand and sh1t in the other and see what fills up first, eh?
  9. Open up the POD Driver interface and turn the direct monitor volume down. Then do what you've been doing. Then play with terrible latency for a few seconds, and go back to listening to direct sound cause you won't be able play in time to anything.
  10. I know you suggested a combo, but with your budget might I suggest a small power amp like one of the ART SLA series into a Bugera Vintage 2x12 cab.....basically the same size as a 2x12 combo, but you have little room for expansion without redoing your whole rig in the future by simply adding/replacing the cab. Lots of people like to hate on Behringer & Bugera, but their "Vintage" series guitar speakers sound as good as anything else below the Celestion price point. You could do a used Crate Powerblock and Vintage 2x12 for around $300.
  11. I wouldn't expect anyone to focus on the forums, but I'm sure there are people who could find 25-30 minutes out of their workday to confirm all these user-created scientific findings on signal chains and noise levels and mixer pan rules, etc....I think it would be a little silly to have someone do it all day, but having a few people who take some time every couple of hours during a work day to check on stuff like that (or verifying the % in the EQs, or explaining how the Dynamic DSP is expressed across a signal chain) would certainly not hurt anything.
  12. Don't be surprised no-one says anything.... these guys seem to think the launch codes are in their "sauce" or something..... just know that it makes guitar noises, cause that's all you're getting out L6.
  13. At bedroom volumes nothing sounds full aside from headphones. For your situation a small pair of bass-accentuated bookshelf speakers or a small 2.1 system would probably get you the "beef" while still being apartment friendly. Volume usually accounts for a lot of that chunk....
  14. Why would they...anytime they've announced something they've either blown there own deadline or dropped a whopper of a flopper (at least in regards to guitar). If you can't rely on yourself, better not having anyone else relying on you either. I still can't believe that its outside their budget to have a handful of "in-the-know" people on the boards. Just make it so people can't PM them ....
  15. Hopefully its a stereo FrFr guitar amp with IR slots to blend with onboard cabs....
  16. It's a 22 second computer animation..... looks like a Stagesource grill on a guitar amp.
  17. you guys really don't "get" the internet, huh?....if you don't want to be a part of it, read another thread....I already get the most out of it, would've been nice to get what was advertised, too......
  18. but it wasn't noted with the claim of how many effects you can run either...
  19. cars usually have that all important little asterisk or disclaimer explaining how they got to 30MPG and why its not to be expected.....apples and grapefruit guys....
  20. you mean like trying to get people to stop arguing on the internet? I get bored, people say stupid things, I respond...I don't care how dead the horse is.... I know as well as anyone arguing on the internet is like running in the Special Olympics...
  21. nobody asked you to be here, or to comment...I enjoy a good back and forth, and obviously there are points on both sides. Are you just saying that cause you don't like seeing this thread on the list? Read other posts if you don't wanna talk about this issue.
  22. well, when I read that it says "You can build a patch with up to 8 effects" meaning that I can put 8 effects on a patch, but not 9 or 10. It seems to me that you have to really want that to say what you're implying to read it that way. Had I never heard of a HD500 and read that, I would assume I could put 8 effects in my patches.....any of my patches.
  23. correct me if I'm wrong, but "up to 8 simultaneous" means the same thing as "not more than 8 at a time" right? So, does "not more than 8 at time" mean "about 8, but sometimes less"? I'm not sure how I'm interpreting this wrong....do you see an asterisk next to that on the sheet?.....does the specifications comparison say that available effects are dependent on the type used? Again, I like my HD500, I use it everyday, but to backup this nonsense as though there's no misinformation is just ignorant.
