  1. If you want completely gapless, for the REAPER Live Pedalboard project we've been working on a bunch of plugins and scripts which (hopefully) can now all be found on the ReaPack system. Daniel Perry made a fader crossfade script and Michael Schnell made MIDI Fade X JS plugin which can crossfade between channels in different ways. If they dont show up in ReaPack, they're on the project page http://pipelineaudio.net/2018/04/12/the-reaper-live-pedalboard-project/ LOTS more info at https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=202979 and https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=202857&highlight=fade
  2. Because there are utilities in there (not a product btw, nothing to buy, the page I linked just cuts down the thousands of forum posts it took to get there) to remap anything and everything. No need to remap the HD500's MIDI messages. Helix Native user Brian Dress worked out a way to control snapshots using this process as well Basically, this is a way to use any MIDI controller, regardless of what types of messages it sends out, achieve auto engage for wahs and other expression pedal type FX, and get glitchless, pop free, dropout free switching, including custom crossfades. For instance making the clean swell out for a long time as you are switching to distortion, kind of a Black Sabbath Children of the Sea effect. Also the ability to create spillover effects. Basically, any routing chain you can think of, and switch between them with no issues

  4. I'm in the same boat, looking for a simple combo solution for times when taking my computer based setup would be a PITA. I have an Amplifi 150 here, and would love to make more use of it. I can't use it as an FRFR because the interface doesn't seem to work the way most other Line 6 products do, where you can run the USB interface inline and/or parallel with the amplifier's sound, you can only run it in parallel, so the actual amp path will always be in the signal path, useless as an all in one interface/FRFR. I've been trying to find a way to wire a line out tap ffrom the speaker level wiring, but it seems too sketchy and chopping up what would otherwise be a perfectly serviceable unit. The Spider 5 looks pretty cool, but for some reason they dumbed down the included FX from the Spider 4. So maybe a Spider 4? Seems to be a glaring hole in the market, if Line 6 would just stick the HD500X in a combo (and wish of all wishes, let us import our own IR's) that would murder the marketplace We had a Firehawk 1500 here for a while, and it was OK, but for its size and cost, and the fact that the controller app is horrid and makes you relogin every 30 seconds, no thanks. I actually would have kept it if you could edit on the PC at the time (tried to do android emulation, but yak)
  5. Be aware there doesn't seem to be a way to get a line out out of this thing without cutting off the speakers. This could be a hugely limiting factor for you
  6. Looks like a similar Smart Harmony like in the HD500X and Helix is in the Spider IV, but I don't see mention of it on Spider V, did they downgrade for Spider V from IV or is this available somewhere?
  7. Apologies if this has been covered, but my google fu was too weak to find an answer Apparently some line 6 models can auto engae the wah by moving the pedal (or "trick" it into doing the same function as in the HD500X). Can the Spider V do this?
  8. TS will work, but if the outputs are actually balanced, TRS could potentially work better (possibly slightly less noise, possibly more level)
  9. Weird, I just tried a Pod XT Live and installed its drivers. It has a way to mute the parallel path AND allows recording direct before the FX like the line 6 audio interfaces do, so weird that they would have left this off the Amplifi 150
  10. Is there a way to do this? We made a JS plugin for REAPER that allows other plugins to do it, but I was wondering if Helix Native could do it (pardon the pun) natively
  11. Crazy, this is EXACTLY the problem I ran into last night. As far as I could tell, there was no way to keep Amplifi from sending its internal path, in Parallel, to the speaker outs I wanted to use this thing as an FRFR and run my DAW's VSTs thru from a laptop, but if I want to get guitar signal into the computer from the guitar in on amplifi, I gotta live with that signal also ending up at the speakers In that case its just as easy to use my regular FRFR plus interface. If there's a way around this (and a way to get a line out out of this thing without killing the speakers) I'd love to hear it
  12. Has anyone ever figured out a good way to get a line out of the Amplifi 150 without it cutting off the internal speaker?
  13. I want only the PC sounds. I want the path to go like this: Guitar into Amplifi. Amplifi as DI as possible (would be nice to have the unaffected input like the Line 6 interfaces have as in their ASIO drop down menu) to ASIO input stream ASIO output stream to Amplifi interface return The issue here is that, unlike say the Yamaha THR 10, the original amplifi signal path will still appear at the output in parallel with the interface return, whereas I'd like to only have the interface return appear at the output
  14. I'm bummed, we have an Amplifi here at the school and there seems to be no way to break the signal from the guitar input to the amp output. No matter what you do, you will have the original guitar and FX chain running in parallel with whatever comes out of the computer. I was hoping on using the Amplifi as both an FRFR for live and an interface. Then again, the thing not having a line out kind of wrecks it for that purpose as well. Any idea if the firehawk has a way to do this? The Yamaha THR-10 does it perfectly, and has a real option to bypass everything and record the guitar with no processing, but its like 10 watts, nowhere near enough for the stage
