  1. If you press it will it switch to the other volume modes and work?

    Chorus

You tried all the choruses? The square chorus can get pretty Rockman-ish for me

    Sound

Firehawk sounds AMAZING to me going into an Alto TS-210. Also sounds pretty good thru a Blackstar TVP 260's FX loop return (I keep wondering if there's a tweeter in that amp, sounds like it). Trying to get it to sound good going into the aux input of an Amplifi 150 (sounds HORRIBLE thru the guitar input of the Amplifi....apparently only the aux in is FRFR) Sounds not so good thru the fx return of a Fender Mustang III v2 (Might try to put a coax 12" in there one day)
  4. Wow, I was wondering what was wrong....Sure enough, plugging into the Aux input turned it into an FRFR...No wonder Amplifi is so muddy as hell.... This falls into the "what is this, I don't even" thing

    Sound

Weird, amp mode doesn't bypass the speaker cabinets as you would normally think they would. If you are going into an actual guitar amp, be sure to turn off the cabinet totally! Crazy
  6. I'd be extremely, like blown over surprised if the headrush and the alto weren't made by the same people. I love my TS-210. I drilled a hole in it and mounted a powerstrip wired before the on off switch, and velcroed my interface and anything else I needed for it. The mix out on it, like the headrush, follows the volume knobs, so you still need a di or something else handy for the soundman...unless of course you own a Helix, and then you can do it on the helix!
  7. Ok, testing now. 0Vu/+4dBu = 0dBFS to the audio interface input over USB from the guitar input on the Firehawk, with everything set flat This means your regular EMG pickups will clip the audio interface, with everything set flat Referencing The volume called "guitar volume" IS ahead of the interface. So the question was at this point, would turning this down actually prevent clipping, or would it just control the volume the clipped audio would appear to the interface? Turning down "guitar volume" let me keep cranking up the test tone before clipping, so, take that for what its worth Hitting the 6 LUFS at the interface spelled out in the Helix levels thread ( Means hitting the guitar input at about -10dbV Getting there with the channel volumes (such as they are) means the amp volumes will be extremely low. ALL of the stock presets I have tried blow right past the red. I really don't know who to believe here, but setting levels this way, I still have plenty of output on the Firehawk and I don't hear any undue noise This means a basic no amp clean volume needs to be at 9%, this could be problematic. Does anyone recommend setting the "guitar volume" lower? If you want to hit 6 Lufs while matching your preset levels, I suggest the free MDA test tone, set to white noise, at -31dB

    Music

Jeez, I have the opposite problem, I can't turn mine off :( I didn't do anything to put it in either
  9. I can't find anything in there to turn it off, does it automatically play when you open it?
  10. I just realized that the FHFX seemed to want to be in 48khz...any chance there's some goofiness going on with SRC making the overs? I'll try and retest with it at 48khz. I don't see a sample rate indicator on the Firehawk or remote though....oh to be left in the dark in this day and age of information....gak
  11. How do you set the Firehawk remote app so that it doesnt blast music from your library out at you when you open the app?
  12. Sorry for the necrobump, but thanks for this topic! I was setting some tests using the Firehawk with its ASIO driver (also in REAPER of course) and noticed that all of the stock presets went over 0dBFS in REAPER I can't find any actual metering in the firehawk, so I was hoping someone knew of a block diagram showing where potential overloads could be hiding based on their position before and after various volume knobs. I can set for unity, but as that unity is as far as I can tell, unreferenced, I could be blowing it at the wrong point. Any hints? Anyone know a reference level for the XLR outs, or perhaps where in the interfaces dB scale 0vu would be?
  13. Oh man, this looks perfect, just stick it in the FX loop....fixes the harmonizer problem as well. I'll see if I can get one to try out! Impulse in a little box https://reverb.com/item/6945794-mooer-radar-speaker-cab-simulator-new
  14. I need five or six of a similar unit for our school's kids' bands. I would love a Helix for me, but these guys can ear their own, I just need something functional. The outputs thing seems to be one more bonehead move line 6 pulls from time to time, like no line out on the Amplifi, or crippling some of their interface drivers at random. It won't be that big a deal if theyre going out with FRFR capable amps, but sheesh with two products aimed at live use specifically, its a bit screwy
  15. In the helix for instance you can run an Ir...so you could put the fx loop after the amp, which would allow you to send to a regular guitar amp for stage monitoring, while having a speaker Ir on the main outs....things like harmonizer go way better before the speaker but after the amp i figured out sort of ok workarounds mainly I was just surprised by how good the v30 cabinet was! I had read all sorts of doom and gloom posts about how the firehawk cabs sucked, but when I went to actually measure them, they were pretty spot on
  16. I notice if I use the Firehawk as an audio interface, the stock presets clip the recording LED's. In this case, I'm using it in REAPER with the ASIO driver and every stock preset I have tried goes over 0dBFS. Is this something goofy with the driver, or am I overloading the unit which will show up at the D/A converters at the analog outputs of the Firehawk?
  17. There's definitely some good tone to be had in here! In Blue, Firehawk's V30 cab. In Red, Celestion's own V30 impulse If only we could chose where in the chain the cab goes
  18. Is the fixed semi-parametric EQ block the only EQ available on Firehawk FX?
  19. I would kill for an IR block in this device! And please let me place it anywhere....happy to give up a stomp block for it!
  20. Does the FX loop not have the cabinet sound on it if its after the amp? I wonder if there's a trick in there to deal with the Smart Harmony routing problem
  21. So I just stuck a Radial JDX in the FX loop. This thing is meant to take speaker level signals and convert them to line level, but it adds its own cab simulator to the line output. I changed the cab in Firehawk to "no cabinet" This made the smart harmony way, way way better. But honestly, the firehawks cabs really sound GREAT compared to this thing, it would only be necessary if using the harmonizer. Please tell me there's a hidden impulse response loader effect in the Firehawk I'm not seeing. That would make this unit EPIC!
  22. The smart harmonizer, as far as I can tell, can't be placed between the amp and the cab, leading to severe munchinkinization compared to how you can set it in the Helix. It doesn't appear that I can move the EQ, nor put the smart harmonizer between the amp and the EQ. Do you have any tricks to making this thing sound better?
  23. When I go to edit the amp settings, it just says "presence 80%", stepping on the switch as stated in the manual just goes back to the amp type, how do I get to the rest of the amp's parameters to edit with the bank up/down buttons?
  24. I see the output chart, but surely it can't be correct right? Lets say someone is playing thru a guitar amp (so I'd assume amp mode would turn the speaker cabinet emulation off), but the soundguy wants an XLR, which would need the cabinet emulation on, how do you handle this situation?
  25. It says I need to disconnect in order to enter live edit mode. I assume that means from the Firehawk app. How do I do that? I remember last time any disconnect meant logging back into line 6 and hoping there was internet around, is that different now?
