  1. Bro? I was actually going to help. You've got a bad tone. I didn't call you an idiot or insult you, it's a hard sound to dial in. If you want constructive criticism, post a picture. If not, then, well, don't get the help you're asking for.
  2. The Pod's not sh#t, your patch is (no offense). Post a screen shot of the settings if you want some help. Sounds like you've got everything way too jacked on drives and levels. Here's an example of high gain without any fuzz. Don't mind the 127 drumming, I record clips so I don't forget them during my song writing process. https://soundcloud.com/smithstudio/groove1-1
  3. Invert your EQ (seems like you're playing at home scooped). Also, have you had someone dial your board in when you all play (FOH type of sound man)? The name of the game is making a pocket for each member.
  4. The use of the Mid-Focus EQ after the amp modeling instantly turned my tone's suck knob way down. I forgot if it was you, meambobbo, or someone else who had first brought its use up, but that trick alone saved my sanity and ears. The IRs are extremely fizzy and harsh in the high end.

    Hd500x?

From whoever was updating the L6 FaceBook page: Some people might want to upgrade, other folks of course will choose not to. The new POD HD500x has more processing power, tour-grade construction, and new switches and lights for more confident use on stage. It is still a POD HD of course, so when we make updates to the POD HD, all POD HD owners will be able to take advantage of them. And our commitment to customer service doesn't change one bit. It honestly sounds like they only upgraded hardware and put some LEDs in a beefed up chassis. Fortunately, firmware upgrades will be universal. Again, makes me wonder, did they just swap part bins for a better RAM/processor in their assembly process? Really hoping that's the case.

    Hd500x?

Could be. I looked at the situation as the modeling algorithms are already there and implemented into the processor, it is just a function of memory to be able to execute so many instances of whichever algorithm is being called upon; similar to recording in a DAW and the "compressor load" test that they use. Just saw Rain Computers do a compare/contrast test with different machines by loading X amount of compressors and monitoring computer resources. However, I'm no computer hardware jockey. Either way, if it was a processor upgrade or a RAM upgrade, would love to know if the new hardware of the 500x is able to interface with the existing hardware.

    Hd500x?

    It was doubled.

    Hd500x?

I've asked on their FaceBook status but haven't gotten a response. Anyone here know if it was a simple RAM upgrade, or was there other hardware/processing upgrades to integrate with the added DSP? It sounds like it would be synonymous to a computer upgrade from one memory slot to two, or doubling the capacity of the two cards (I have no idea of the hardware architecture of the Pods, BTW). Of course, this is assuming the motherboard and other components are compatible... Personally, I'd be willing to take the Pro apart and swap out some RAM if it meant doubling the DSP.
