  1. Are you trying to get something like a dual mono type sound through your PA?
  2. I'm considering trading in my 75 watter for a 120 watter. I understand that with a 2x12, you can get a stereo sound using the ping pong delay. Has anyone switched out amps and if so, what was your experience> Thank you.
  3. Downloading from Customtone would require getting one of the 2 floorboards. Believe me, you will not regret it. It opens up a whole new world to your amp.
  4. Since the spider IV has no effects loop in the back, you can only plug your guitar into the effect pedal and then into the amp. This means the effect pedal goes through both the preamp and power amp sections of the amp and the sound from the effect pedal will be processed through all the settings that you have on your amp. So if you choose to use an outside delay pedal, it my might best to minimize the effects coming form the spider IV. Personally, there's a few different delays on the spider IV that sound pretty good. Do you have the matching floorboard?
  5. Ok. I imagine about the only time I'd even use a wah would be doing some Black Label, but it's difficult to create an authentic sounding setting.
  6. Well, most of the settings I use are somewhat "Metallica" oriented. I don't really use much in the line of additional effects, just a ton of distortion.
  7. What I've heard on other forums, though is that people will have a 75, 120, or 150w combo and change the speakers out
  8. Thanks for the info. I wondered what a 150 head would sound like with a "regular" cab. I bet it would sound crushing with a recto cab.
  9. I've been seeing from other forums how some spider IV users are disappointed with the overall tone of the amp at gigging levels and have replaced the stock celestions with various eminence brand speakers to satisfactory effect. Has anyone heard of this?
  10. well in that case, let's just put another one in!
  11. Definitely. And maybe a good Type O Negative sound
  12. It would be great to have some presets that emulate George Lynch and Type O negative
  13. Thanks for this info. I may do some experimenting with the two to get a more vintage fuzz face Hendrix type sound.
  14. One thing you can do is go into manual mode and go to one of the cleaner channels and eq it to your liking.
  15. I don't think ANY delay can compete with the music man. Having said that, just use the edit software after you've connected your board to your computer. There are several types of delays and you can tailor them to how you want them to sound.
  16. Hello, I've got spider IV 75w with the shortboard, line6 monkey on the computer and the edit software. In the event that I have to do a factory reset on the amp for some reason, how do you "back up" all those save, modified, rearranged presets on the edit software? Thank you.
  17. Is there a thread going on somewhere where we can request or suggest tone uploads for certain band or songs that are not currently part of the factory presets or the present upload page?
  18. I've got a couple Dunlop wahs that I like very much, a 535Q and Zakk Wylde. Not that I'm a big wah guy at all, but are you saying these would work well with the amp if I plugged it in front of the amp?
  19. Thank you very much for the info. And btw, I hope no one minds when I post a pic of a hot Babe along with my comments!
  20. Those downloadable manuals really help out a lot and will answer most all questions you have
  21. If the spider V is indeed in the works right now, it'll be interesting to see what kind of changes there'll be between the IV and the V. Hopefully, the most significant change will be further improving sound quality.
  22. I had heard that the spider IV series does not play well with other effects pedals (no effects loop on the amp). Being the huge Lynch fan that I am, I didn't want to forsake some good Lynch tones I have because my spider IV 75w combo might not work with it well. Long story short, I put the amp in manual mode, clean red, eqs at 5, and plugged in a Zoom G2G Mr Scary box in front of it. And man, it sounded awesome!!! So much so that it almost made some the stock spider IV presets kinda sterile sounding. Blazed away for a while, turned the amp off, un hooked the Zoom pedal turned the amp back on and everything was fine. Just thought someone might find this helpful.
  23. By the way, I've downloaded a ton of the presets that are posted online and saving them in the user preset area via the edit software. My question is, the more presets I download will the factory user presets just go away?
