  1. No stress for me. Have what I need already. Don't need a buggy update. Take your time, Line 6 ;)
  2. Use your ears. Personally I don't hear any difference, so I go for the 1024 version and save dsp for other fun stuff:)
  3. Well, I do about 100 gigs per year, all from outdoor gigs to pubs and arenas. I don't pubs in Scotland are any rougher than countryside Norway ;) Anyhow...they just stopped working after a while. No power....no leds etc. Could maybe repair it, but probably not worth the hazzle, so I bought new ones. Picked up a G50 now. More sturdy.
  4. I'm very happy with my Helix I must say. But I had the same experience going from X3 to HD500....I could never make it work. I had it for a couple of months, but never got a good sound out of it, and my band members had this grin on their faces. So I had to get rid of it and get a used X3 instead. It just served my purpose. Then I got the axe-fxII...and that's a beast of course, but still, I had to use the X3 as a backup on a gig, and even then I felt more at "home" with the sound. So yeah...."newer" doesn't necessarily mean better....for YOU! :-)
  5. No need. Wait a couple of days and line 6 will release a proper editor during the NAMM days ;)
  6. I felt it was stiff too at first, but after a few gigs I haven't really though about it. So play with it for a few weeks ;)
  7. Not too bad :) I've posted on the Helix group on facebook if anyone has nailed it yet. I'd really like this kinda tone:
  8. Hehe. You can still put the good old-fashion cord into the unit though ;)
  9. I disagree. I could never make the HD500 sound good. I gave up after a couple of months and went back to my X3 live for a while, before I got the Axe-Fx. The Helix works pretty much out of the box. HUGE difference :)
  10. Great tip! I wasn't aware of that option. It's bugged the hell out of me too :)
  11. It wasn't a dead serious suggestion of course, but I know you got that :) That's why I wrote Helix II. Having said that, yeah, most people I talk to would pay extra for that. I mean, I think I've bought my 5th G30 relay now, and it's such a fragile piece of gear lying on the floor. If it was built-in, it would have more protection. And of course, it doesn't have to be top notch G70...a G30 would be sufficiant. No need for more than 6 channels and 30 meter. I already have loads of transmitters :-) Funny :D
  12. It was more of a joke, than seriousness though :) That's why I wrote Helix II. Of course I would like to skip an extra power and a "receiver" on the floor, that looks like a part of the Helix, but is not.
  13. A simple version of the G70 built-in! At least optional :D
  14. Impossible to say without hearing the original and your patch. Could be a thousand things, amps, cabs, strings, pick-ups, mikes, compressors, analog mixing console, dubbing....the list is endless:)
  15. I don't care about the HD series, but for effects I'd like to see more Boss models....OD-1, SD-1, CH-1 etc, since most of us know these stompboxes. I'd also like a few more amps....like Friedman, Lonestar, Atomica, JVM.
  16. Thank you Line 6 for fixing this! :-)
  17. No. I don't have time to experiment like that. My Helix is in a tourbus all week, except for when I do gigs. But it happens only 1 out of 10 gigs, so I would be spending a lot of time in the bedroom trying to force this flaw to surface:)
  18. Hi guys, So, I'm curious to how many of you experience this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PxjLhQskBOs&feature=youtu.be I do. Anf bear in mind, this is the 2nd unit for the same customer. Line 6 thought it was a hardware issue, but now, not so sure. This is my only problem with the Helix now, but it's a big pain in the lollipop. I barely dare to look at the pedal, and I bring my Morley wah to gigs. Experience out there? What could it be? Ken
  19. What do you guys mean? I use mono wah....as for all effects in front of the amp, then a stereo delay and reverb at the end of the chain, and I have the "volume drop" every now and then on gigs. Not sure what's going on, but the Helix turns dead and I have to restart it. Usually in solos when playing the wah (it really makes me shine on stage btw). Are you saying I should use a stereo wah at the beginning of the chain? Sounds weird to me...
