  1. :D What posts ? I don't see any :D lol
  2. Your starting to sound like one of those "gotta have the last word" kinda guys lol. You already got one buddy of yours admitting he's not nice, and the other wanting wind in the sails to perpetuate the flames, can you blame me for buying into your game ? Admit it, you love the given punchlines to work your sophisticated sarcasm magic. :P
  3. No offence taken lol all good. And yeh I help out in the Zoom forum (amongst other forums) from time to time. Thanks for the kind words. :)
  4. I agree with you %100, as my post wasn't directed at the moderators. They actually do a pretty good job at helping in the most efficient ways without much attitude. Its some of the high posting normal users i was referring to. Maybe a self awareness of their attitudes isn't present, seems like a sure symptom to take a break away from it all. D ick is short for Richard, like Bob is short for Robert.
  5. lol yeh, post count and frequency might be a reflection of their ego ? or to be noticed by the moderators so they get anointed themselves as a moderator. As I understand it, moderators receive free stuff from Line6 as payment, it would certainly be an incentive for some to clock up posts. Nobody tries to help that much for no reason at all lol. A whole lotta quantity, and not much quality, BAM! yup, i said it. Surely a person would know all there is to know about a MFX unit after 1000 posts, and at-least as much reading ? interesting observation.
  6. Skip the mixer, HD500 straight to speakers is fine for stereo. I wouldn't go trading all that in, plus cash just for those speakers, you'll severly shoot yourself in the a$$. I'd at-least hang onto the Peavey VK II 100W Head.
  7. LMAO ! Haven't personally done much reading at the fractal forums, as i don't own any of their products. I've read a lot of their support manuals tho, just out of curiosity. Yup, welcome !
  8. There's one guy here, and I won't say who (maybe you know), that posts here day in day out with what I personally see as consistent drivel, and never really helps in any way, he just wants to "appear" knowledgeable in a self revering manner. There have been many times his posts have almost motivated me to log in, and skilfully make an a$$ of him, but I don't, it would be too easy, and I don't want to become the bitter cynical person I see in some of the others. But theres one thing I won't be silent about, and that's aiding in the suppression of negative feedback. While it seems fine to post endless threads of how wonderful the POD HD is, those that express negatives are immediately jumped on by the small group of cynics, which puts out the message of "if you don't got anything good to say, don't say it at all". Whats the point of being here if both can't be expressed or debated equally, in a type of democracy. If the OP can find some spare time to post back his experience with his new found toy, I'd love to read about it in exquisite detail. Be interesting to see what his opinion would be after making the specific transition from a POD HD to a Fractal AXE FX. Something can be learnt from this topic, if you allow it.
  9. +1. Rude lil man. Did those that impulsively acted on the OP's thread think how this would appear to others ? i mean if i where new to this forum, just reading this would turn me off wanting to be here. I don't think some of you realize how bitter and cynical you have become posting day in day out. My biggest beef here isn't DSP horsepower, or firmware updates, or tech support, my biggest beef would be this community. Theres some really decent people here, but these prolific daily posters and their sarcastic attitudes can make this experience quite off putting for the rest. Imagine if some sales guy at some retail outlet kicked you out the door cause you decided to purchase something else, you'd wanna punch him in the face and never go back right ? Way to leave a bad taste in his mouth lol, he'll probably never wanna come back based on this. Then again, its an AXE FX, i'd say "up yours, im never coming back" to everyone too after getting one of these !
  10. lol, what a bunch of a$$holes, seriously, and its the usual suspects out to forum haze those that don't absolutely love Line 6 gear. Goodluck man !
  11. @ethyl80. I think you misunderstand me. By amp sensitivity, I'm referring to the amps ability to translate and react to softer or harder touch from the strings, much like how a real tube amp reacts. Sensitivity was the best word i could think of. Yeh thanks stumblinman, I've read a lot on the 5150, as this was the amp to intrigue me from the new set, and lost focus on all the others. The Shiva intrigues me too, but haven't read much into detail on its performance as yet. I wonder how touch sensitive its input is as-well.
  12. I wouldn't be too concerned, a small arc seems normal given the current draw is around 3 amps. Just don't short the contacts.
  13. In an attempt to get a better understanding of which amps are more dynamically touch sensitive than others, I thought I'd see what the Line6 community had to say about this. I'm also interested in peoples input on the new amps, as I haven't bought them yet. To narrow things down a bit, I'm mostly curious about the high-gain amps. If you add FX or use some other technique's to increase sensitivity, I'm also interested in your ideas, thanks.
  14. If you where able to see the switch internally, lets say made of perspex, you would also notice this arc internally across the contacts as you throw the switch.
  15. Save yourself the tweaking nightmare and stick to FRFR PA's, the POD HD was natively designed to be used this way with little fuss. You want your amp and speakers to be as neutral as possible for the best tone results with modelled amps to sound as they should.
  16. Disadvantages. 1. No Optical SPDIF. 2. Mono looper. 3. No I.R. loading. 4. Volume pedal takes up an FX block. (wtf) 5. FX Loop takes up an FX block. (wtf) 6. No metronome. 7. No clipping indicators. 8. No new FX since release. (I think)
  17. I think its the 5150 II everyones after, this one appears to be the most popular. My personal favorite too. Although, there's a large crowd out there that swear by the original 5150 loaded with Sylvania tubes. Did line 6 ever clarify anywhere which one they modelled, and which tubes it had ? I'm curious now. Been reading the 6505 and 6505+ are direct replacements to the 5150 and 5150 II, with new badges.
  18. Hard to say, I almost passed judgement on it too soon until a took a deeper look at it. The A7 Cortex is what usually gets put into mobile phone and tablet devices, and judging from what I saw in its multiple FX processing capabilities, its not something I would initially under-estimate now. I wonder what sample rates it runs native in, and exactly how many simultaneous FX can be used until latency kicks in, or hits a DSP wall. Guess we'll have to wait and see when its in full swing and the reviews start coming in. I'll reserve my personal judgement for then.
  19. My god, from the looks of that Mod Duo application I see running there, the routing possibilities appear phenomenal. Seems they lifted the simultaneous FX cap to quite a large extent as-well, nice post ! I'd love to this thing succeed.
  20. Digital Igloo, he works for Line6. "Product Management"
  21. I don't think any amount of tinkering will clarify that to a %100 certainty. I think this one is gonna have to be answered by D.I. if possible, He should have access to the technical knowledge concerning internal routings of the POD HD.
  22. 1. Yes, its just the pre-amp that's modelled and the the power amp section is omitted, although, I never understood why the cab and mic parameters are still present in this mode, can always bypass them. Usually Pre models are used so you can continue to use your guitar amps power section, with its pre-amp bypassed, but I've found some pre models can sound pretty nice with FRFR type speakers. 2. Very good question, I always assumed post amp affects where processed after the ampsim section, but this wouldn't seem logical in the real world situation, where post amp effects are usually smack bang between the pre-amp and power-amp sections of a traditional guitar amplifier's signal chain. The routing schematics don't seem to offer any clue's there either, someone else may know.
  23. When you do, it would probably be best if you started a new thread dedicated to it, so we don't hijack the original topic of this thread any further lol.
  24. Joel makes a good point. I've always been a gear nerd, but fortunately I found that I had the talent to play too. Even if you don't get good as a guitarist, there's room for people like you as a technician, or roady, doing the important technical work for other musicians that can't do it themselves, so I don't think your wasting your time. I'm an electronics tech by trade, and I do all of my own technical work, and i'll admit that's been very handy for me and the other musicians I have collaborated with. I've learnt so much in 20 years, and I'm still learning ! BillBee also makes a good point from a musician perspective, the POD HD can be a rabbit-hole with so many options to tweak (which I'm personally thankful for), but all too many times found myself in a state of mental paralysis, due to having too many options, but that's what the POD HD is all about, so finding a personal balance between tweaking and playing is something we all should try to find peace with, however that may be.
  25. pianoguyy "I can't imagine any 'dirty' guitar sound to need 96. " On the contrary, 96KHz would be more ideal, for the fact that guitar tone's with overdrive or distortion, produce high order harmonics well beyond the original note, so the higher sample rates in this case would capture them more faithfully.
