  1. lol you and me both, with mixed emotions. Sounds like the sales of the HD series and Firehawk/Amplifi where that successful, it allowed Line6 to set their sights on the high end market. Anyone found any detailed PDF's of this new series, or is it too early ? 4 FX Loops ! god damn. Pity the FBV controllers aren't supported, could've saved some cash there.
  2. Any plans to make a rack version of this beast ? Never mind, I found it ! Sexy.
  3. The way I understand the POD terminologies is as follows. Path = 1 stereo pair. Which can be maintained stereo from the beginning to end of a signal path, IF, the selected effects are stereo themselves. Otherwise, a mono effect will sum the stereo pair to mono. Path's = 2 stereo pairs. Typically refers to the "dual tone" capability that the POD HD has for creating a section in the signal chain, where the ampsims or effects are parallel to each other, and usually terminates at the mixer as 2 channels, in mono or stereo, depending on selected FX. The POD HD500/X HD Pro/X are very capable in the routing department once you get your head around it. You can find detailed images of the POD HD's routing schematics floating around the forum somewhere.
  4. Considering that a Distortion and Wha pedal typically gets placed near, or at the beginning of a signal chain, maybe you might want to place these at the POD's input, so your not using up an extra FX slot and DSP with the FX Loop, and reserve that position for more pedals typically suited for post amp FX later. But yes, you can do what you asked, you just need to assign the FX Loop to 1 of the 8 FX slots.
  5. Just don't forget to set your output mode accordingly, but coming from monitors you shouldn't need to change it, it should translate well. Like silverhead mentions, use the Global EQ to compensate for the slight differences. :)
  6. W..T..F.. *looks for the ejection seat handle* I'm outta here.
  7. Tikanis Arislaf, don't mind the harmless banter, its just like a jerry springer episode, or a train crash in slow motion, you know its stupid, but you watch it anyways lol. I think the topic is dead and gone anyways.
  8. You don't know that for sure, and none of it involved you from the get-go, so do you see your even greater irony suddenly involving yourself outta nowhere just now ? LOL, This is getting stoopid. If you wanna re-enforce the notion that its ok to be rude to others, then go right ahead buddy. Your just tryin to troll me with some kinda pseudo-logic. :P Moving on...
  9. lol, oh come now, you know I'm spear-heading this counter-assault more than any other in this thread, its quite a fair assumption. :P And even by the off-chance it wasn't, I still stand by everything that I've said, with no regrets. The general message still applies. Haven't seen it yet, but watched YouTube shorts and downloaded the movie a few days after I read your post, i'll watch it soon lol.
  10. Just out of sheer intuition, the first thing I'd do is break-down the internals to get to the switches, and give things a thorough cleaning. Not saying that would be it, but its certainly where I would start. Failing that, the next thing I'd do is a firmware re-flash and/or global reset, just for good measure. Failing that, well, I'd probably come back here and look for more ways to nut it out. Goodluck !
  11. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing more of the older non-HD models make it into the new model packs, apparently they use less DSP than the HD models, which is a good thing for those that run into the DSP wall quite often. Maybe Line6 could offer a pack solely filled with the older models in the future ? I'm sure they'd sell well.
  12. pianoguyy "Which is something I said around page 3 (when certain people began the name calling) --- Too many people are takers and not providers. Then they criticize the very people that do provide." If your referring to me, and I'm sure you are, then I will correct you by saying I have put in my fair share, and helped more than I've been helped. AND, I will do it as concisely as possible, rather than meander on with un-necessarily long winded multiple posts that confuse. Most people actually pay attention to who's who here, and what they say, that's how forums usually work. The way I see it, especially after admitting that "nice" isn't a luxury at your disposal, that the name fits. Just because you have an apparent disability, doesn't give you, or anyone, the right, or excuse, to be absent minded when it comes to social manners. I feel like a Richard for putting it that way, but like you, I'm not sorry for a single word I just posted, it had to be said. Manners, don't cost a thing.
  13. This is starting to sound more like a good idea if what you say here is true and free's up DSP. This factor alone would sell me on the model packs :) . I've read good things about these amps regardless of them not being HD. Aside from definition, whats the crunch and chug like ? good enough for respectable live metal and recordings ? Don't wanna stuff around with updates just for trialing them, just wanna pull a permanent trigger and be done with it.
  14. Hmm good point, thanks ! Still, If anyone out there has tried the Line6 amps (single or dual) from the new model packs, and can approximately quantify DSP usage or, can notice more available DSP leftover from a particular combination of Line6 amps, your input is most welcome. The high-gain amps are the ones I'm mostly interested in, but really any combo of Line6 non-HD amps should provide "some" DSP usage insight. I'm surprised no-one has covered this one yet.
  15. Ok cool. I mostly run with dual HD amps, but the remaining DSP left over for other FX was something that I always found a bit limiting, so if running dual Line6 non-HD amp models use approx %60 - %70, that should open up a couple more FX slots to play with ? that's what I'm mostly concerned about here really. No doubt I could use them for "finessing" as Duncann puts it.
  16. Ahh ok thx Duncann, so your saying the Line6 models that where ported over where just pre-amp type models without a respective power amp and cabinet ? Do they they appear in the POD HD with "pre" next to the model names ? I'm a lil clueless here seen as tho I never owned a POD before the HD series, and still pondering/procrastinating wether I'll be getting these packs or not. Even tho those amps aren't HD, I think including them into the bundle is a great idea over-all for those DSP conscious type people.
  17. Anyone out there that's bought the new model packs know how much DSP the Line6 amps use in comparison to the HD amps ? I know someone approximated DSP percentages for all the stock amps and FX for the POD HD a while back, so I'm curious if anyone can provide a simular approximation for the Line6 amps, as both singular and dual amp configurations, if possible, thanks !
  18. Personally, I create patches as good as possible on a decent set of headphones and/or studio monitors. A change to room environment or amp and speaker setup, usually needs no more than the Global EQ to tune specific frequencies to compensate for the differences.
  19. None of the OP's posts notify of any edits at the bottom of each post, and if there was any editing, his general attitude appears no different since the beginning. There was no bad-mouthing of the POD at anytime, it was just a simple "the POD aint doing it for me, i'm moving along to Fractal" type statement. Seems thats all it took to light this fire.
  20. Hi Rino2. Yeh, my findings confirm what your saying. It's a fairly simple and straight forward expression interface. I might be wrong, but I haven't read anywhere that this affects the HD500/X, It appears that this problem is experienced only by those that have a POD HD Pro in combination with the Shortboard MKII.
  21. I covered this problem in a thread I started here. http://line6.com/support/topic/4992-pod-hd-pro-shortboard-mkii-external-exp2/ Short version, its bug you have to live with unfortunately.
  22. LOL no offence taken ! I've been online for 15+ years, I know a troll when I see one, and I know how to be one when challenged ! But, its a beast that must be caged unless necessary, nobody likes an uncontrollable troll, so its back in the cage, apologies to the OP. I've read your new thread concerning this topic, and it was very informative. Goodluck with your new toy, and stuff the jealous remarks !
  23. I use a Boss FV-500H with an insert cable. The stereo end into the expression port on the pedal, and one of the 2 mono ends into the POD's expression socket, works beautifully and built like a tank. The pedal controls the expression on the POD, but it also can be put inline with your guitar to POD input simultaneously ! both circuits are electrically isolated, so they don't interfere with each other. It also has a separate tuner out with a dedicated volume control, and adjustable torque. The pot is a 10Kohm taper. http://www.bossus.com/products/fv-500h_500l/
  24. Agreed, at the beginning i was serious, but lost all respect by page 3 when i realized this was a pissing contest, so i thought what the hell lol. Although, as ridiculous as this conversation seems now, the process has undoubtedly revealed the true colours of some here.
  25. It certainly makes sense to do it this way so your not doubling up on pre-amp stages like you would be going in through front-end with amp-sims running on the POD. 9 times outta 10 it works great. :)
