  1. :) That's pretty funny! BUT... you do bring up a good point about being able to use the HD500X through the send/return section.
  2. I'm looking over my collection of pedals and my pedal board figuring out what to keep, if anything. I'm leaning toward keeping my POG, a Humphrey Audio modded Boss GE-7 equalizer, my old Dunlop Volume Pedal and Fulltone Clyde Wah. There might be one or two others, like an old Aphex optical compressor, but I'm just thinking of certain effects that I want to lay on top of a patch from time to time and not necessarily every time. I might just assemble a mini-pedal board that will plug into the send/return section of the Helix. Between the sounds the Helix produces along with cutting down the weight of my rig, I'm really happy. Lugging around 82 pounds of pedals, board and case, plus amps and guitars, really lost its appeal after tweaking my back. So, for you, which pedals still hold a place in your heart and playing that the Helix will "never" replace? What limitations, if any, have you noticed with the Helix that adding a pedal or two (or more) really makes the Helix THE rig to have?
  3. What "spawn2031" said is right AND make sure your monitor is flat in terms of EQ. Some monitors, while seemingly "flat" are actually weighted to either accentuate or attenuate certain frequencies, mainly mids in most cases.
  4. Soon(ish)... a relative term totally dependent upon which scale of time is being used; dog years or people years! :) It will happen when it does. But as mentioned in other posts, it would be nice to know relative to the "drop dead date" on returning the device.
  5. I agree. The only thing for me to add would be the fact that release of inside information is most likely left to someone in upper management and not within the job description of the gear heads who help us. In fact, we'd probably never hear from them again!
  6. Asking the people at Line 6 for information that hasn't been released yet is asking for "inside information." That is, material information about a publicly traded company which is known by the company's board of directors, management, and/or employees but not by the public. The SEC forbids trading of stock based on such information and can seek fines or criminal prosecution under these circumstances. This definition also applies to anyone outside of the company who somehow had access to that information and acted on that information for their personal benefit. Inside information is also kept within the company to avoid giving competitors an advantage.
  7. I think the important thing to keep in mind is that Helix models those things that already exist in the real world of audio. So, you might have a hard time getting JBLs to match anything Marshall in the real world because of the EQ weighting differences in their respective networks. JBLs are not flat in terms of frequency response but, for example, Boston Acoustics are, thereby making the BAs easier to match to Marshall cabs. FWIW, JBLs tend to "sound better" than Boston Acoustics because of the EQ weighting, but Boston Acoustics, because of their flat EQ characteristics, make it much easier to dial in specific sounds. I used to work in a studio where we had to mix for a number of different environments. After "auditioning" a lot of different speakers and amps, we ended up using some NAD equipment and Boston Acoustic monitors.
  8. What type of mics are you using? Are they phantom powered? If so, you'll need to turn off the phantom power for the Helix.
  9. Updater is now updated... but still no update for Windows 10 and the Helix Application.
  10. It took three tries to finally close the app. Win 10 was an upgrade from 7. I'm seriously considering just going back to 7. I haven't uninstalled the redistributable. Thanks for your reply!
  11. Tried it... didn't help. It did, however, take longer to quit the application... I'd close the window and another would open! :)))
  12. This from L6 Support... this is just SO WRONG! At least if they had been up front about this, I wouldn't have wasted a bunch of time. From: Date: Message: wvolkmann Oct 13, 08:16 AM Hi, Sorry about the trouble, but Helix library is not yet compatible with Windows 10. We are currently working on a version and it will be available shortly. Thanks for your patience. Will - Line 6 Support
  13. Bug: I have a Windows 10 issue. When I try to open the file, I get a message that Helix has stopped working. I did mention this to L6 Support.
  14. What about a Gator mixer case, 12" x 24"? It has rollers and a collapsible handle.
  15. I use a Gator mixer case. It's 12x24, has rollers, is light and works with a lot of different equipment.
