Mine is mounted on a Temple Board Trio 43 with dual lock along with some other stuff. It all fits in a keyboard Gator softcase. The Temple mounting pedal plates aren't all they're cracked up to be IMO. The board itself is a very good design.

I'd almost be willing to take a drive... :D

Lol, don't blame me :) Keeley put together some old fashion secret sauce in there. Abby Mode is pretty specialized for what it does. Just buy one, You won't be disappointed ;) Right now, I run the Helix stereo into a X-Air 12 mixer with other stuff I play (MIDI Guitar, Keys, Saxophone) and split the output to my personal monitors (Alto TS110a) and to FOH.

I have it in Pro mode with a TRS splitter. It takes one loop out/two in. The 30ms does fine random pitch modulation in "Abby mode" to simulate an analog tape doubling effect. In stereo, it places a delay on one side that also modulates the timing slightly. The key sound vibe from the 30ms is from the pitch modulation though. I guess you could try a pitch block to detune the dry signal on a parallel path and the add chorus after to modulate it. Add some delay and you'll get close, but you still won't have the random modulation that the 30ms also does.

The 30ms is very unique in the way it randomly mods both time and pitch. I have one running stereo through the Helix loop with a Xotic EP Booster in front. Sounds awesome. I don't think you'll get close to the 30ms sound with Helix alone.

Thanks. Upgrade worked with Win7 PC. Don't know why the OS X doesn't work now and still. That never happened before.

Can't do update :( Helix app 1.02 won't connect. So, I can't backup my presets. USB audio connects/works fine. Tried rebooting and re-install. No go. I'm on OS X 10.10.5 Any ideas boys? Guess I'll try with my PC (Yikes :rolleyes: )

Just tested it and the answer is no go :( A bit disappointing, but not entirely unexpected. I guess I'll have to buy one of these.

Thanks for your reply, but this type of setup doesn't get fully what I'm after. This only requires USB ported MIDI. I'm looking to interface that and the 5 pin MIDI in / out-thru connections on the Helix.

I going to have to test this out. Right now, I run a mBox Pro as an audio and MIDI interface. This allows me to play softsynths via a keyboard into my DAW. This is in my studio iMac system. I'm looking to also do the same via Helix and a laptop PC setup for a live rig.

You would assume, but this isn't always the case. I'm wondering if can control via a DAW sequencer an external MIDI keyboard, MIDI Lights, MIDI Toaster and Frig ;), whatever...

Does Helix work as a MIDI USB computer interface? Obviously, it works as an audio USB computer interface. My question is, can it pass through MIDI data to/from the MIDI ports and the USB to control external MIDI devices via a computer? This is the only reference fro the manual page 43 MIDI Over USB; When on, Helix receives and transmits MIDI data via USB in the same capacity as its MIDI jacks.

I did have on a music stand when I first got it. Now, it's mounted on a pedal board. So, I'm sitting on a stool hunched over to reach the joystick. Other than the back pain, I also went all out and integrated the Helix with an AmpliFire, Sonuus Volume, and (soon) a Boss SY-300. All those units have editors. So I have to keep moving back and forth from Helix to my computer. I'm getting some crazy amazing sounds for the effort though. When the full Helix editor comes out, they'll all be on one computer screen to create some wicked patch combos.

True, don't cover up the vent on the underside.

I tried the screws but they're too small unless you make some kind of bracket. You could get longer screws but that didn't seem worth it to me. I ended up using lots of Dual Lock. There's plenty of real estate on the back to adhere it to. Works good.

I'd really like to get the full editor because my back hurts :(

Noticed a v1.03 bug when copying a preset from one setlist to another setlist. The copied preset initially displays an incorrect name of another seemingly random preset at the new saved location. The preset name corrects after toggling back and forth from a different preset.

The percentage of "problem" units is 100% since they all have the same bugs and needed fixes. The percentage of user experience with these issues will vary based on the time and depth of feature use. I've had a number of small bug experiences. But, overall it's a great device.

Not sure if this has already been reported. Noticed a bug after backup of my presets. When the backup was complete, the Helix display was showing a completely different preset while the scribble strips displayed the preset that was active when the backup stated. The audio was still the same preset that was active when the backup stated. I toggled to another preset and back and it corrected the issue. I'm using Mac Yosemite with 1.02.2 firmware.

Word clock is not the same as time clock. Work clock syncs the digital audio samples of two devices. This to eliminate errors due to slight variations in sample rates between two devices.

Thanks. I didn't think it was needed and never did so. But, somehow this idea of resetting keeps popping up everywhere.

Is the "Factory Reset" optional or not after firmware update? I keep reading it's required or at least highly recommended. Yet, it is stated in the release notes as optional. Please, what is the correct answer and why? Thanks
