  1. If you're using a Mac, you can set up an aggregate device. Here's video I made on how it is done. I'm not sure why you would need a second interface (via the thru out) when you can have multiple Helix paths sending signals on separate USB channels? Use one path for dry signal and record that. Then, re-amp and record resulting tone as desired.
  2. Have tried recording via USB? If not, try doing so to isolate out the analog output part of your signal chain. Then, if the playback sounds better, consider new cables and monitoring. Also, the Audio Technica ATH-R70x headphones are rated at 470 ohms. DI has recommended headphones at 300 ohms. Good luck
  3. Sounds good. How 'bout some fuzz now ;)
  4. Yes, there's a scroll within the bottom frame. Issue becomes where the entire window pane is too large at the max screen available resolution to be seen. The Command Center, being the largest bottom frame, becomes the greatest problem. In my MacBook 13 inch widow, the Command Center frame takes almost all the available resolution at the bottom (see OP screenshot). Only the MIDI channel selection is visible. The scroll in the bottom frame is almost impossible to access as it takes a space less than the size of a single character. On my 10 inch Win10 Netbook, you can't access it at all. Solution I'm advocating for is an entire window pane right side scroll that encompasses both the block screen and bottom parameter screen.
  5. I guess resizing isn't the correct word. Re-scaling the windows frames is a better definition.
  6. It's still not resizable. That would also be an acceptable solution.
  7. I wouldn't go as far as to say it's a bug. Nothing is broken per say. It's an access and functionality issue. Small screens are getting popular. The editor has some wasted real estate in the bottom frame due to the use of sliders instead of dials. Sliders are not used on Helix itself. The 6 below the screen dials on the unit make for fast and low profile UI design. If the editor is designed to mimic the Helix unit itself, the sliders should be replaced with dials. A full set of dials could take the same real estate as just one slider. Small screen issues occur at the most extreme within the editor's Command Center as shown in my OP. Here, I think there isn't a great need to exactly mimic the Helix screen. A smaller representation would save screen real estate and avoid the need for scrolling all together. As is now, the editor's Command Center screen frame does have a small scroll bar for that frame. However it's very very tiny when using a 13 inch screen and not even accessible on smaller Win10 tablet type screens. A larger full right side screen scroll bar would at least allow for access to those parameters. Another small yet big improvement to the editor UI would be to have lighter colored skins available. 8. Ideascale here. Please vote up thanks. http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Helix-Editor-right-side-scroll-bar-for-improved-small-screan-use/831964-23508?submitted=1
  9. Helix Editor needs a right side scroll bar to be used on small screens. If you take a look below at the command center, you can not get to all the parameters at the very bottom with my 13 inch Macbook (see attached). Forget about using a small Win10 touch screen tablet like a Nextbook. You can't even see the whole page :(
  10. There is a tiny scroll bar on the right in the bottom frame. It's dark gray against the black background. It's there but near impossible to see on a small laptop. This bugs me out too. Vote here to fix this; http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Helix-Editor-Window-Skins-with-better-contrast/819618-23508?submitted=1
  11. I owned a DA Smartclock but sold it after buying Helix along with other pedals. So, I never tried myself to use them together. Helix doesn't yet send or receive MIDI clock. The latest FW did included a bug fix to respond to MIDI tap tempo CC#64. I haven't tried putting this to work yet, but I believe that would mean you may be able to control and sync tempo between H9 and Helix by using the H9 as the master tempo tap.
  12. I assume you meant to ask me this? It isn't so much about what Helix can or can't do. Helix FX are very good and the control center makes running the H9 very easy. It's about getting more out both devices. Using the H9's offloads some DSP power away from Helix and therefor allows for more amps, IRs, and routing options. The H9s do have a greater number of available effect types. Plus, the reverbs have better detail than the Helix reverbs. The H9 also has MIDI clock sync. Helix doesn't yet. OTOH, Helix loops can be inserted anywhere I want the H9 to be. And, I can used the expression pedals to control the H9. Helix and the H9 is serious powerful combo. Really, I'm just scratching the surface.
  13. No laptop required but it can be added easy for both playback and recording. There is a USB hub mounted on the pedal board underside. Underneath, mounted with the Blofeld on top of, is an iConnectivity Audio 4+ (the FTP doggle is mounted on the side of the iCA4+). The iCA4+ is a USB host, mixer and interface. MIDI out from the iCA4+ and Helix (through the H9s) is merged with a Kenton Merge-4 box on the pedal board underside to the Blofeld. Helix selects the program change and sends expression pedal CC data while the FTP data is merged and passed via the iCA4+ to the Blofeld. Sounds more complex than it is really :)
  14. My dream rig. Very synthy :)
  15. Helix ideascale #200 (literaly) Helix Editor Window Skins with better contrast http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Helix-Editor-Window-Skins-with-better-contrast/819618-23508?submitted=1 I love the editor. But it can be hard to see. A couple color options would be awesome.
  16. I have one guitar with EMG SA(X) pups. Plug it into the guitar input as normal with the auto impedance. All goodness.
  17. Loving the editor. I'm diving in deeper than ever now with it. Looking forward to the ability to name scribble strips. I do hope that also adds the ability to operate the foot-switches via the editor rather than just the unit itself for full remote control. Small request would be to give the skin of the editor better contrasting colors. The small dark gray window sliders can be difficult to see against the black background in the command center window frame and elsewhere.
  18. There's lots of potential for bass. The parallel paths make it very useful. Vote up bass ideascales here; http://line6.ideascale.com/a/ideas/search?templateId=0&discussionID=51424&tag=&query=bass&date-submitted=&daterangepicker_start=&daterangepicker_end=&date-last-activity=&daterangepicker_start=&daterangepicker_end=
  19. I love the Editor boyz! Great stuff :) Found a bug. I put the 122 Rotary on path B in stereo. Then, I deleted it, but the effect does not go away even though it no longer shows on the path in both the editor and Helix. I can't get rid of it without rebooting Helix.
  20. Did not see this. I'm good now. Awesome
  21. I'm stuck? I got to the point of updating the FW on Helix to 1.10.0 with the 1.08 Updater. But the Helix Edit Application file download "HELIX_FLOOR_1_10_0_bundle.hxf" just gives me this error and will not run. "Safari can’t open the file “HELIX_FLOOR_1_10_0_bundle-3.hxf†because no available application can open it." I'm running 10.10.5 OS X Suggestions?
  22. I've seen this too. 1.06 FW
  23. They're fairly expensive relative to other options when you consider the number of them you'll need to mount all 14+ pounds of Helix. Users have also reported them failing to hold and it is difficult to remove the sticky tape. To be fair, I've never tried them. There are long threads on TGP to read up on them and Temple boards in general if you're inclined to research. The board itself, as I'd said before, is really nice. It works easy with Dual Lock and also mounts pedals with zip ties perfectly. No need to spend any more time or money with the plates.
